Although this neighborhood is a clear choice for students, faculty, and staff, the University District offers allure far beyond the campus. The neighborhood is filled with restaurants, coffee shops, and shopping options. Boulevard Mall offers over 100 stores selling everything from candles to shoes to candy. There is also an abundance of entertainment available within or near the community.
University District is home to several quirky museums including the Pinball Hall of Fame. SeaQuest Las Vegas and the Las Vegas Convention Center are also housed in the district. On top of stellar amenities and fun-filled activities, University District is in a prime location. The McCarran International Airport is four minutes from campus and the world-famous Las Vegas Strip is only seven minutes away.

Property Ratings at Rancho Alvarado
There is a severe roach infestation for some years now. Roaches are everywhere, in the walls & in the plumbing. It's become uncontrollable due to managements neglect. Mailboxes are also broken into on a daily basis. Your private information WILL be stolen.
Absolutely terrible management. Maintenance is almost non existent. Terrible infrastructure that hasn't been updated since who knows when
I done with this places they don't care about their renters. If you are having issues with electrical or appliances they take for ever to fix it's a long way don't waist your time.
I’ve lived here for 1 year & I had no idea what I was getting myself into! They paint over all the mold so it looks nice when you first move In, there’s roaches EVERYWHERE no matter how much you clean you’re apartment will be infested. They are in our fridge kitchen table food ETC ITS HORRIBLE! management can careless how much you complain they take they’re sweet time to fix stuff... my walls had cracks in them, my sinks & toilet always had Leaking they would just come and put tape every time.. just over all a bad experience please do not waste you’re money here as inexpensive as it is ITS NOT WORTH IT!
There is a severe roach infestation. I have reported roaches in my refrigerator multiple times. Nothing has been done about it. The maintenance men told me it’s been happening for a while so....
I have stayed here for 4 years. The office staff is rude and this place Is full of roaches and drug dealers. They are holding my deposit longer than NV allows, per NRS 118A.242. It has been 37 days so far but management is telling me it can take up to 90 days. They don't do the walk through with you, instead they take pictures after you've already turned in your keys. They stall when it come to maintenance issues. Rent is constantly going up. I've tried to contact Westland realty but they tell me to talk to management. No help at all.
Fridge been broken for 3 months. They gave me a different fridge where the temperture gauge in broken and ran up my electric bill 100 dollars!! Maintenace issues everywhere. It's just sad. Please Please Please! Do yourself a favor and don't live here. There's other apartment complexes around. It's 2500 dollars to get out of your lease so don't say I didn't warn you. Don't fall into this trap it's been nothing but trouble from the start. Awful! 0 stars!!
DO NOT MOVE HERE unless you wanna be robbed the place is homeless paradise they roam around the complex 24/7 looking for cans in the dumpster and the complex staff see them but do nothing no good service ,the free wi fi is a joke the children playgrounds turns into drug using area at night
When they do something wrong they turn it around you... horrible bug infestation, never keep any promises... things come up missing when you are at work.... ??? building in horrible state..... run down and nasty... Promises of FREE W-FI LIES!!! NEVER WORKS. They show you a beautiful model.... and you have no clue what you are renting until you move in..... they are all smiles... promises promises... but LIES LIES.... how they stay in business is beyond me..... NEVER NEVER NEVER put your life in their hands...... YOU W I L L BE SORRY! For sure......... Run ....
You literally have to remind them every week for issues. I have to remind them and say hey my plumbing still isn't working. Worst apartments EVER. I had a roach problem in my apartment due to the neighbor next door it took them over a month to do something about it and the only reason they did something was because I gave them a legal document stating that they had to do it. It takes them weeks to fix simple things like the toilet not filling up with water and the maintenance workers literally stay on the apartment grounds. Eveytime you go to the main office they write stuff down that never gets completed and then ask you " you told me about those issues". The main pool has been green for the past couple of weeks and instead of them cleaning it they just pump water in thru a rusted pipe that hangs over the edge of the pool. Do yourself a favor and don't move here.
So here I am, a year later. The first review stating that these apartments were the best in the UNLV area by far was mine. I don't like to give negative reviews but... PLEASE, DO NOT MOVE HERE. All was good at first, but over the year things have gotten really sketchy at this place. I am in the process of breaking my lease as in the past two weeks I have had to call the police and the fire department. In one incident, there were 15 people in the parking lot beating each other into the ground and yelling at three in the morning. The other incident involved me being trapped in the complex when I was trying to drive out to pick up my boyfriend from work. In the middle of the parking lot was a car completing on fire and I am lucky I stopped where and when I did because soon after the car exploded in front of me. I know for a fact I am not the only person uncomfortable living here. I had a conversation with one of the neighbors and they told me they always carry a gun when going outside in the neighborhood. If that isn't enough to convince you to not live here, maybe the drug dealer and homeless people by the gate daily will. Or maybe the inability of management to properly process maintenance requests. I have sent in several and have not had electricity in my bedroom for over six months! To make things worse, the employees in the main office did not know how to handle it when I told them about the security issues. The lady I was talking to gave me a cold stare while a male employee told me to stop being so afraid and to just do my own things and ignore all these issues. He told me to just do my own thing and then I would be safe. Last time I checked, that isn't how it works. I will end this review as it is getting long but trust me, there are so many issues with this place. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.
After a lot of research on apartments in the UNLV neighborhood, I decided on this community. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the neighbors are very friendly and the area is pretty safe. My main concerns looking for an apartment were safety, cleanliness, distance to UNLV, noise, and price. In these apartments you get your own security door, free pet friendly pest control service every Wednesday upon request, biking distance from UNLV, quiet but polite and friendly neighbors, and affordability. They have different upgraded units to choose from that have tile, wood, or laminate flooring throughout the unit or a combination of those. On top of all this, the ladies that work in the office are really nice and try their best to make sure everything runs smoothly. I've been here for about two or three weeks now, and I am really happy so far with this place.
