Property Ratings at Rancho Los Feliz
we lived here for over a year, they didn't return our deposit for the animal, they appropriated this money for themselves, in addition, there is constant construction work on the territory, a lot of noise always in the morning and during the day, poor soundproofing, you will hear every step of your neighbors upstairs, sometimes homeless people came into the building and swam in the pool, security does not monitor

From loud dump trucks early in the morning to wake me up to constant leaf blowers testing my sanity. This place is noise polluted. The walls are so thin that you can hear your neighbors upstairs, downstair, left and right. NOT WORTH THE PRICE!

By far the best apartment complex I've lived in in Los Angeles.

Hi, we appreciate your positive review about your recent experience with us! Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you; we are more than happy to help!
From homeless people making a mess every time the trash bins are out to the dirty pool to loud workers. This is an older complex that charges premium prices for thin walls and poor security in a so called gated community which I use the term loosely. The pool is dirty very often, the gym always has something broken or filthy, it looks rarely cleaned.
This is what nickel-and-diming looks like. I give them credit for coming up with more creative "fees" to allow them to circumvent the rent control statute in the area. But every year is a total money grab. In the meantime, I have had another bike stolen from the parking-structure bike area. I had a plumbing leak that saturated my carpet (They initially would not replace it until I demanded, they still made me move my own furniture) and the pool has been shut down for months. We have repeatedly asked for security cameras because of the rampant theft but the request has fallen on deaf ears. Yikes. Looking for a new home.

The trees did that all by themselves. Coming up on one year and wish I had chosen another place to live. Yes the grounds are beautiful and the pool is nice so that's what they show all potential tenants. But the property is literally crumbling and the management obviously doesn't care. A water main broke a few weeks ago and water was off for over 24 hours to the entire complex. They provided buckets and recommended getting water from the pool to flush the toilets. The rupture ruined all of the machines in one of the 2 laundry rooms and they have yet to replace them. The entire complex, 400 units, are now sharing 7 washing machines. There is no sign of a repair or replacements. The residents are beginning to get angry and fighting over machines. There are a bunch of cheesy-looking gas lamps located on the grounds but more than half of them are broken and you can literally smell the gas leaking all over the place. Why would they not update these malfunctioning and dangerous gas lamps that are leaking? The "water features" are broken most of the time and collect leaves. I have had 2 bikes stolen because security is non-existent. If I were a single woman I would DEFINITELY AVOID. Not safe.
It's great that people clean in the morning, with leaf blowers, dumpsters being slammed etc..But if you work nights at all, this place I don't think is for you at all. It's very loud, there's roaches in the laundry rooms and were in my apartment. I wouldn't give this place a second shot at all. If they show you around, make sure you check the computer lab, it's pathetic, the computers won't work longer than 4-6 minutes. You cannot print anything because the computer freezes and shuts off. I've tried over the period of 6 months and they never get fixed, ever. It's a joke, the computer lab shouldn't be a factor for you. The pool used to be heated quite warm, but they lowered it a couple degrees and I don't know if they've raised it back up or not. I do not like this place whatsoever, too expensive, too loud and honestly it has bugs!
Ahhh this place is killing the competition. They got everything from ants, roaches, rats, isis, mosquitoes , beetles, spiders, flies, raccoons , cats, skunks, possums and some unidentified animals that chase you at night. Other amenities include a one of a kind on site maintenance team. what separates them from the rest of the world is their ability to be the the loudest in its class. My daughter learned Spanish from hearing them 9-5 EVERY SINGLE DAY!!. What else can I say about this place. They don't offer parking, grounds are not well kept, they got over flowing dumpsters for those who love dumpster diving with the animals. It sad to watch the leasing office lure another victim everyday so I thought I'd give them a heads up.
The apartment complex has everything you need: gym, laundry, coffee machines, internet cafe, outdoor grills, and a pool that they have heated year round! Very secure and affordable. Located next to a major highway which can take you to downtown LA in about 10 min. Across the highway we have Griffith Park! Plenty of shops and restaurants all walking distance on Los Feliz Blvd. Apartment itself is very spacious and cozy with several amenities included! I love walking around the huge garden they have inside the complex; it makes me feel like I'm truly in a little paradise.
I just moved to Los Angeles from Atlanta, and I've gotta say, definite upgrade. Rancho Los Feliz has been everything I had hoped for and more. My Dad and I came out to LA to look at apartments in early July, and not only was I surprised by most agents' lack of interest in helping us, but almost all of the renting agencies we contacted via phone or email, never responded. It was as if they were actively trying to prevent us from renting their available units. Oh well. Now enter Rancho Los Feliz and Lamar (Leasing office staff). Right off the bat, he was extremely friendly and courteous. He gave us a tour of the facilities--from the spectacular private pool, the lounge area, fitness center, media room, the lush grounds, laundry, and parking (That's right, PRIVATE PARKING!). He showed us a great updated studio with stainless steel appliances and granite counter tops. After the tour, we told him we'd be looking in some other areas of LA as well, and he went so far as to give us areas we might be interested in and places to consider. Lamar is such a genuinely helpful human being, that he actually was willing to help me find an apartment, even if it wasn't with RFL. Amazing. Long story short, and many unsuccessful apartment-viewings later, we head back to Rancho Los Feliz to sign the lease for my studio. I wasn't moving in until August, and they were nice enough to hold the apartment for a few weeks for me so I wouldn't incur extra rent in the meantime. He even threw in the fridge for free for the entire year! I paid for my private parking space, which was incredibly cheap compared to many places, I'd seen, and was on my way to living big in LA.... Now moved in, I can see the full benefit of living here. The units are separated from the street, so it is quiet, private, and inviting. The interior of the complex is lush with plants, and the maintenance and security staff are incredibly helpful and nice. As for Lamar and the rest of the leasing staff, they're as helpful as ever. Their sincerity wasn't a trick to get me to sign a lease. He asks how my dad is doing. They are literally doing their best to make you happy, and that is above all what makes RFL such an incredible place to live. Seriously, live here. You won't regret it. P.S. The only drawback I've experienced so far is that there is no gate code to enter to facilities, so if you lose your key, or the leasing office is closed, you have no way of entering the premises.
This is great place for professionals, and families. The neighborhood has grown a lot since I first moved here 3 years ago. If you are an active person, there are lots of bike routes nearby. The complex is also near the bus, which connects to Hollywood and the LA Redline Metro. The staff is always friendly and prompt at fixing anything in your apartment. Although there is no late lock out services, so if you lock yourself out of your apartment you'll need to call a locksmith. There are several fun community events throughout the year for you to meet your neighbors. The parking lot is very small, so if you have a large vehicle the parking spots are little tight. I squeeze in and out of my car, once i had to roll down the window to get out. Other than the skunks, parking and no lockout services this is a great place to live.
We are currently in an efficiency apartment. The surroundings are well kept and the office is very quick to resolve issues.
Rancho Los Feliz is a gem in a city where safe, affordable housing can be difficult to find. The complex is well-maintained with beautiful flowers and decorative ponds. It offers convenient amenities (package pick-up service, heated pool, free wifi in common areas, bbq's, fire pits, computer cafe, free Starbucks coffee in the main office, and a decent-sized gym). The apartments are functional, and the staff is very friendly and responsive. The apartment complex is safe. It is gated, and there is a security employee on the grounds 24/7. Additionally, it is in a trendy part of town, with many restaurants, shops, grocery stores, and parks within walking distance.
