Property Ratings at Rand at Tillery
I've lived at Tanglewood for a couple years now, and I honestly love it here! No place is perfect, especially with apartment complexes, but it's really quite lovely here. We'll start with the outside: The grounds are kept up with, mowed regularly, the pool is always clean and well maintained. The community is very quiet, and welcoming. The inside: my apartment is a townhome (rare to find for this price), and is very cozy! I have hardwood flooring throughout, a new refrigerator, a bath and 1/2 (great for company), and tons of closet space. One of my favorite features is the storage unit outside. I wish it was bigger, but my Christmas and fall décor are stored in there with no problems. There is even a storage closet under my stairs which is perfect for my shoes, umbrella, and misc. items. Maintenance: I can tell this complex has really turned itself around. When I first started apartment hunting, I looked at reviews for pretty much everywhere. I was nervous at first when I saw some negative reviews, but I really liked the place so I took a chance. and I don't regret it. I've rarely had issues with my apartment, and when I have, they've fixed it pretty quickly. Office staff: very friendly. always a pleasant conversation when I call my rent in. oh, which Is also nice. I work the same hours as the office hours, so I'm never able to make it in before they close. I can call my payment in over the phone for no addition fee. Apparently they waive all convenience charges?!? which I thought was really great. Over all, I really love it here. In the next few months I'll be looking to buy a home, and I'm really going to miss my apartment! I always said if I ever live somewhere, eat somewhere, or had an enjoyable experience otherwise, that I would leave a nice and most importantly, an HONEST review. I work in an industry where it seems like only the negative experiences get shared, and I'd hate for someone to miss out on a great place to live.
Very close to interstate and downtown Knoxville. To get anywhere is usually no more than 10-15 minutes away. Pet policies and other fees are fairly reasonable. The staff is slow to fix anything wrong with your apartment. Most times I have had to call 3 or 4 times before it got completed. The outside areas are not maintained very well. The grass isn't mowed nearly as much as it should, a lot of litter (cigarettes, glass, animal feces etc.) left around by tenants. There is a decent size pool as well. The one time I went all of the chairs were broken and very uncomfortable to lay on. For the most part, the tenants are considerate being quiet at night. If you intend on having a guest stay over night, be sure to get a pass from the office. Between the hours of 12 am-6 am, your car will be towed. It was the best price for the amount of space I could find at the time otherwise I probably would have passed on this place. The quote, "you get what you pay for" is a perfect description of this complex.
My girlfriend and I moved into a "renovated" apartment. It's actually quite cozy for us, very quaint, but a very sloppy/ careless remodel, even the new hardwood floors were installed improperly and with damaged boards. The REAL downside to the place is the maintenance deptartment. They are slacking in ALL aspects of caring for current residents. We moved in with an air filter that looks like it has never been changed since the place has literally been open.. Rude, loud, obnoxious, shady, drug-dealing neighbors with no security cameras, which really bothered me after my car was broken into over a weekend in May 2015, and to top everything off, the office management is legitimately incompetent of caring for anyone's situation. And I can relate firsthand. Needless to say we will not be here much longer.
