Often regarded as Cincinnati’s most desirable neighborhood, Hyde Park is picturesque with charming historic homes and spacious tree-lined streets. At the center of the neighborhood lies Hyde Park Square, teeming with more than 175 unique shops, galleries, and restaurants for residents and visitors to explore.
In addition to Hyde Park Square, the neighborhood is known for containing the Cincinnati Observatory, a National Historic Landmark (and fully functional observatory) that’s home to the world’s oldest telescope. Hyde Park fosters a sense of community with an array of exciting events, such as the annual Hyde Park Art Show, Hyde Park Blast, and the seasonal Hyde Park Farmers’ Market. Located just five miles from the heart of Downtown Cincinnati, Hyde Park offers residents easy access to all that the city has to offer.

Property Ratings at Ravenswood
The night of June 5th we heard buckling noises coming from the other room. When we went to go look, moments later the ceiling came down on my fiancee (literally). The pictures show it wasn’t just a little bit of ceiling that hit her in the head (1 month after her 3rd spine surgery). That night uptown wouldn’t provide a hotel or anywhere for us to live because it was still “livable”, that night she ended up spending in the ER to get her head, spine, and lungs checked out (from inhaling insulation and having trouble breathing). We thankfully were able to stay with my parents, but the whole time were told by Uptown this was “livable”. Meanwhile we didn’t feel safe since the ceiling already fell on us once, who was to say it wouldn’t happen again? Every time we went to take pictures we had trouble breathing and left coughing (even with masks on). Workers came out that night from uptown to clean it, but pieces were still falling and everything in our apartment became covered in insulation. Workers ate our food, used & broke some of our personal belongings, left our doors unlocked, and more over the week of repairs. We told Uptown about the cracks in the ceiling weeks prior to this. All that happened was they were covered up, no investigation as to the cause. Why do I share this? Per Uptown: it was not due to water damage. It was because the building was old and it has happened before. What’s to say it won’t happen again? I would think twice about leasing with Uptown and think twice about renewing any lease with them. We did not feel safe. They have not been helpful dealing with this situation. They refuse to compensate the less than 1 month of rent for us not being able to live there because of not feeling safe and having trouble breathing when we walk in the apartment.
We had to downsize from a house to an apartment, and we really needed a three bedroom, two full-bath apartment. We were surprised at how reasonable the rent is for so much space! The floors are beautiful, brand-new hard wood. It even smells like new construction in our unit. However, our unit is on the bottom floor. I understand that the management and maintenance has been working very hard to modernize and replace a lot of the old structures in the building, and it is an old building. So, our first week here, we saw a few nasty water bugs. Yes, I know that “water bugs” is a fancy word for cockroach. The property management took our complaint very seriously and has sprayed and treated our unit twice to be thorough, and we haven’t seen anything since! Maintenance is super friendly and helpful, and they will NOT leave you waiting. We are now very happily living here until we can buy our next home. It is a lovely neighborhood and the courtyards are nicely maintained. The pet owners are very responsible and most tenants are quiet professionals. We kind of feel like we lucked out.
I have lived here for 6 months and within those 6 months, my apartment has flooded twice, I have had random people inside of my apartment and I had a flea infestation. Do not recommend especially for the outrageous rent.
