Situated just over 14 miles northeast of Dayton, Fairborn and the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base that neighbors it makes up a sprawling suburban community. Cape Cod and ranch-style homes give the area a quaint feel, while modern apartment communities ensure there’s a rental for everyone. Fairborn’s historic downtown area houses locally owned shops and eateries, as well as the historic Fairborn Theater. Proximity to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Wright State University, and Beavercreek’s main shopping area provides residents with multiple employment options and access to the amenities of a larger city, while Downtown Fairborn’s small-town charm attracts residents looking for a quiet, close-knit community to call home. Downtown Dayton is just a 20-minute drive away via State Route 444, but you may find it hard to leave this charming Ohio community.

Property Ratings at Red Deer
Extremely disappointed with the end of my contract with this property. As a previous landlord, I understand the importance of working closely with both parties when terminating a lease. I requested to terminate my extended lease with a 60 notice and was approved. I moved out of state and started a new lease. AFTER I moved out, and AFTER they re-rented out the apartment, they charged me for the final month that remained beyond the 60 days (less than a month). Again, this was after agreeing to let me terminate- and while collecting rent on the same unit from the new tenants. I paid a portion of the newly addressed fee until I realized it was re-rented. They sent me to collections for the remaining balance. I attempted to elevate the complaint to the management and he (Bryan) dismissed my calls and then sent me to collections. Not pleased.
We lived here 6 months and we were told it was all new carpet it was only new carpet in the bedroom. The countertops had knife marks that were as old as the kitchen. The floor was not properly glued down, they were all wavy. We sparingly used electric, and our Electric Bill was $50 to a $100 plus. These have window units for heating and cooling, and they were the original ones from 1987. It never cooled off they place. They had some kind of wallpaper on the walls but the “wall board” wasn’t even attached to the wall studs it was just hanging off and bowing. When we moved out, they tried charging $65.00 for the mailbox and door key but we mailed it back to them because they are closed on weekends and they don’t have a drop box. They also kept our full deposit. The Property Manager and Regional Manager both where very rude and unprofessional and created a very hostile environment. Both female managers at both levels seemed to have some type of dislike towards our household. We requested to speak to upper management a number of times and they refused to let us speak to them or return our calls. A number of times we where told "they don't speak to tenants".

We regret that your time here was not what you expected. Our HVACs are PTAC systems integrated in the walls, and are very efficient. We are not usually able to let someone know what the electricity is as that is based upon your usage, but what you are stating your usage cost, sounds correct from what I have heard. Our community does not do deposits, we have move in fees, and we always explain this at application time. Usually we have specials that help offset that cost. I am not sure who would not give out our upper management's number out as we do this when ever it is requested. We will use tis feedback to improve our communication skills and management. We thank you for your feedback.
Rent is high and increases happen every few months, lots of "fees" tacked onto your rent and the apartments are old and in need of repair. Appliances are antiquated and the water and gas fees are not based on use, just what management thinks it can get away with. If you rent ere you will regret it!
Property Manager at Red Deer, Responded To This Review
We are sorry that you feel this way. The fees are all given up front as it tailors your lease to what you need. We do not have gas on the property, and electricity is based on your usage, and through AES, not our community. We will work hard to ensure our feedback gets put to use, in bettering our management of our community.
The area is quiet and safe, the apartment is clean, has been kept up nicely, and clearly updated through the years. The staff are very friendly and accessible, and they are always making improvements!
