Redwood Ankeny

Was alright Was good because it was a single story. Rent kept getting raised and it was cheaper to pay for a mortgage on a house. Maintenance people were awesome, same could not be said for the property manager. Would take multiple days, multiple calls, multiple visits to get something remotely resembling an answer. Then half the time what was said over the phone or in person was not correct when it came to being charged or signing leases. Short summary, layout and fact it was a single story was nice. Maintenance team was good, quick, and courteous. Property management side, not so much. Also prices kept going up.

At home with Redwood The staff here have been very friendly and helpful. We wanted to move in on a very tight timeframe that I didn't think would be possible, but they made it work. We took the self-guided tour on a holiday weekend which was very helpful. We love the neighborhood so far.

Great place to live! Loved the open floor plan and no stairs. Easiest move in ever! Staff was excellent too!

Door Handle came off After my call the handle was fixed almost immediately, very quick response. Super Great!!!!

Super quiet, beautiful apartment homes, extremely helpful and kind staff from management to service techs! All in all great place to live!

This is our 1st Rental in 46 Years, and we are extremely impressed. Not only with the Apartment setting , but how very maintained it is. Everyone on said property works together, in keeping you Happy as a Renter. Management is Awesome, we could not want for Better. Our children picked this place for us in 2023, to mover closer to them and our Grandchildren, and because we've gotten older but we are resigning for 15 more months, because it feel like Home. Moved in in Oct 2022 and have no complaints whatsoever. Redwood Ankeny has always responded to my needs and requests promptly and professionally. The team on staff are super great and very knowledgeable in the day to day operations. If I need anything I just make that phone call and they are calling me back listening to what I need and feel dung any issues there are.

Very pleasant friendly employee. Did some extras while here. Cleaned up afterwards.

I had one of my smoke alarms go off. Paul was quick to repond and replace the bad unit.

Fix the light quickly

The lock was sticking and key not working- it just needed lubricant and Paul was able to fix it quickly.

Paid extra for end unit with side yard green space for our dog. The first 6 months we lived there the sprinklers ran non-stop even when it was raining. The green space became a saturated swamp full of bugs, mosquitoes & spiders. It was unusable. We asked to be relocated to a different unit & were told we'd be charged $500 fee. ?? Water started dripping in through the electrical outlet. Constant mold problems in the bathroom. Toilets leaking, dryer vent clogging 3x from the outside vent which caused our brand new dryer to blow 3 fuses ($40/each). Ice maker never worked & leaked. Garbage disposal barely worked. Cheap everything from the vinyl flooring to the cracked drywall. Our door never closed properly & snow, cold & winds came in. We had to weatherstrip it ourselves. We did everything per the detailed contract when moving after our year lease was up. The entire apartment was professionally cleaned and all carpets steam cleaned. We even repainted walls, pressure washed the driveway & garage. Yet, here we are 2 months later & we can't get a hold of anyone at Redwood in an effort to receive our deposit back. We took pics & video of the place when we moved in/out to prove the condition. We talked to a few other residents who had recently vacated & they've either been charged for supposed damages or they've been ignored in regards to their deposits. RIP OFF! We went to a lot of trouble & expensive to leave our apartment in stellar shape & this is Redwood's way of saying, "Thanks for being a resident here." ?? Not cool & wouldn't recommend to anyone. ??

Completely horrible! Don’t risk it. The only leasing option at the time was 9 months and 15 months. When it came time to break the lease for a job relocation during the pandemic, they were horrible to work with. They charged 3 months rent and asked for an additional 2 months rent as back pay on a move in special! On top of that, they charged water and electric for the three months after move out. The 3 month lease break was paid in full and the remaining $5k disputed. When we refused to pay, the sent it to a collection agency. I could go on about the whole move in process but the move out was much worse!!

High rent for extremely poor construction. Unfastened cabinetry, cracked sinks, cracked walls, uplifted flooring, doors that won't shut properly and the list goes on. Water pressure is almost non-existent. Appliances are stainless, but cheap. Landscapers constantly leave clippings all over front and rear porches while blowing your mats everywhere. The high rent also includes a lovely $35 monthly fee for one-time payments and a $95 fee if you're late 72 hours. In addition to the above, some of the rudest dog owners ever.

Sarah was wonderful to work with, day or night. She’s a huge help, always willing to answer any and all questions quickly and throughly. Beautiful townhouses in an excellent area of Ankeny. Thank you, Sarah!

Stacey is very nice and was very helpful with answering any questions I had. The apartments are beautiful and very spacious. It is in a perfect location too (right down the street from a new movie theatre and bowling alley that’s currently being constructed, Jethros, Whiskey River, shopping centers, fitness world, and Cascade Falls Aquatic Center). Beautiful homes with a great location. Would highly recommend to any friends and family looking for a place in Ankeny

Very nice place with great central location in a growing town. Floor plans are nice and the utilities are not too pricey since they are new. So far no problems with neighbors. Stacey is very nice to work with and makes timely responses. Dog friendly is a huge plus. Check it out if your looking for a decently priced place

Havenwood apartments are beautiful! The single story 2 bedroom apartment has beautiful hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings, ceiling fans, nice appliances, and I love the large open space. There is a lot of closet space as well as an amazing walk-in pantry. And the 2 car attached garage is perfect! It is located in a quiet area just north of The District at Prairie Trail, which offers up dining, entertainment, shopping and fitness options.... with more to come (a movie theater and bowling alley to name a couple). You can't beat the location. And the leasing staff (Stacey) was great to work with. Stacey was helpful, polite and patient, and she made the entire leasing and move-in process simple, fun and exciting. I would highly recommend Havenwood by Redwood to all of my family and friends.

Absolutely beautiful with stunning hardwood floors and gorgeous appliances. The staff was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions in a timely manner. Very luxurious and perfectly priced for a two income household! One of our favorite features is they allow pets and the fees are one time and very affordable, plus they allow many different breeds, big and small! :) They have have so many great features such as energy efficient, they offer prorated rent if you decide to move in later in the month, the entire place is extremely open, all around the best place we could find in Ankeny and is super elegant! Best place to make your home!

Finding Havenwood in Ankeny was such a relief! This place has everything you could ever want for a family friendly apartment neighborhood. The one story concept and attached garage make living here very comfortable and efficient. We live in a Rosewood floor plan between two other residents, but you would never know it! The construction in these homes makes it completely sound proof and very energy efficient as well. The storage options in this home are plentiful and well thought out too. I never feel cramped or at a loss for space. I would recommend giving Havenwood a look and deciding to become a part of such a great community!

I could not be more pleased with the look and feel of Havenwood Apartments. It feels like an actual neighborhood with homes rather than an apartment, which is exactly what I was looking for. The two bedrooms will be perfect for an office and a guest room when we have visitors. I loved the kitchen layout and will definitely be using the island for entertaining! The garage is the perfect size for both vehicles and there is great parking for guests as well, which is super important to me. I felt that the staff at Havenwood was very helpful during the application and walk-through process and that customer service says that our needs will be taken care of in the future. I am ecstatic to move in and get involved in the community here!

The staff at Havenwood is incredibly helpful and attentive! I felt like my needs were being carefully considered and I am confident that living here will be a pleasant experience. The apartment homes themselves are laid out beautifully with a lovely open concept and lots of natural light. Cabinet space was absolutely perfect and the pantry was HUGE! The bathrooms are gorgeous and the bedrooms are a great size as well! My queen size bed will fit with plenty of room leftover! The two stall garage and one story build makes this community even more attractive to live in. I could not be more excited to live in Havenwood and have all of my friends and family come to visit a real neighborhood!

The attention to detail and all the help that staff has provided us has been absolutely wonderful! They have answered all questions we have had at anytime and I couldn't be happier! I am honestly excited to move in and enjoy our new place!

Having an “apartment” community that is all single story with 0 stairs is amazing. Adding a 2 car garage, all completely new everything. I cannot wait to move in in 2 weeks. We’re finally going to feel like we’re in our own home.

I stopped in to preview the apartment homes in Ankeny and fell in love with: the location, design of the homes, the neighborhood, and the attention to detail. I love that they offer granite counters, stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer hook-up in each unit, honestly, they have everything I would want if I were building my own home! The manager, Briana, was well informed and shared lots of information with me. I have a house to sell and then I am ready to move in!

Moved into Havenwood last Winter and everything has been great. It is the perfect apartment for me and my wife, we were really sick of stairs. Manager is nice and very responsive to our questions or if we need something fixed. Would definitely recommend.

I love my home! I've lived at another Redwood community in Michigan before getting transferred to Iowa, and my experience has been just as positive. Landscaping is currently lacking, but after talking to the ladies in the office it seems construction has a plan to correct this in the near future. I knew what I was getting into when moving onto a construction site anyways! Their maintenance guy is out for medical reasons right now, but the guy they've been sending from one of the other locations is super friendly and helpful. If you want to feel like you're living in a home versus an apartment, this is the place for you. Single story, and I LOVE my attached garage. Lots of storage too, plus I'm allowed to have all three of my pets. Customer service is great as well, stop and say hi to Briana in the office. Obviously this place is still in construction, but I'll tell you that my last Redwood home was better than the pictures shown after construction was done. Love it!

These are brand new units that have never been lived in before and yet when we moved in the unit looked like it hadn't been cleaned after construction was finished. They are constantly having to spray the units for bugs. They have seeded the areas in front of the homes but the seed looks horrible and is nothing but weeds and mud, the curb appeal is absolutely horrible and the neighborhood looks nothing like the photos on this site. When they cut the weeds they call grass they leave the clippings EVERYWHERE and don't even blow it off your back patio or walkways. For the price of these units you could find something much nicer with better management.

Have been living here for a while now, good location but very poorly built homes. Flooring in unit is very cheap and coming lose in many areas. Hot water only last for about 10 mins. For the price of these and being BRAND NEW construction, they should be top notch with little issues.

Maintence is poor and no grass and many other problems
