I have lived in this development from the beginning. Office staff and maintenance are the issue. Awesome in the beginning but now they do not seem to care. Communication with residents is non existent. With what we pay in rent it is ridiculous.
I moved into the community approximately 1 month ago and have been very happy with my apartment home. The helpfulness of the property management staff before, during, and after my move went way beyond my expectations. I would recommend this community to anyone wanting to live in a progressive professional environment with new amenities and convenient location.
Moved to Dayton not by choice but for a job. I have owned homes, rented homes/apartments, and have rented out my own houses in the last 20 years. I feel Redwood is an average community but what makes it excellent is the staff. Kristen, the property manager is as good as they come and really makes this community great. She is always happy and helpful every time I see her and every maintenance request is met on time. After living here for a year and by talking with some of the new residents a lot of them have never lived in apartments before and have a completely unrealistic outlook on what apartment living is. This is my third apartment that I have lived in and it is by far the BEST. The only problems I have is not with any of the staff that we have here at Devonshire, but Redwood as a company. They cut corners with their "walking path", it is essentially a path of gravel instead of a sidewalk and my guess is most of it will wash away by next year. Second, they have started pricing themselves out of the market in this area and then they wonder why 25 units are still open. Third, amenities would be nice (pool,gym,clubhouse etc) for the price we pay.
My experience here has been quite positive. The staff is very friendly and the neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. I like that I'm able to walk right outside without going up or down any steps, easy if you had any pets or carrying food to barbeque. It's a smaller complex development so the staff is very personable and make you feel like part of the community. There's not one thing I don't like about this place.
I love the vaulted ceilings & super open floor plans!! It really feels like a home not an apartment.
Me and my husband moved to Dayton for his job and left everything back in VA. We looked at a couple of other apartment complexes but really just fell in love with the layout they provided here. You don't have anyone above or beneath you, making it feel more like a home and giving you more of a sense of privacy. We loved that Devonshire provided upgraded appliances and granite countertops with an amazing open floor plan. The walking paths they provide are great for our dogs. The pet rent here is very fair considering other apartment complexes overcharge or make you pay per pet. Here is a flat $30 for up to three animals. I also love the management team here. As we moved out to OH with no friends or family, they have made me feel very welcomed to this new area. My experience with them has been very positive, to the point where I could openly come to them with any sort of problem we may have. An issue we had with our mailbox key, they seemingly dropped everything they were doing to help fix the problem very quickly. I would definitely recommend living here!
I really enjoy living here, I like the private outdoor space you get that feels more secluded than if you were in an apartment complex. The maintenance guy sometimes takes a while to fix things, but if you bring it to the managements attention, they jump on it right away. The ladies up in the leasing office are also very friendly and make you feel very welcome. It's new construction as well which my wife loves, and the upgraded amenities inside. You really can't beat the open floor plan either, makes you feel like you're living in something much larger.
My husband and I just moved back to Dayton from the west coast. We looked at several apartments over a 2 week period before finally deciding on Devonshire. None of the places we looked felt like home. We loved that it was all one level and had a huge garage. The girls in the office were very helpful during the entire process and even helped us find a reliable moving company to help unload our truck. It has been very quiet in our home and we would definitely recommend it to anyone that doesn't want to live in a large complex.
I would encourage potential tenants to speak to current tenants before signing a lease. The price of the apartments far exceeds the actual community or apartments. The quality is substandard and the management team is unresponsive once the lease is signed. Military families beware of this community as it is not as advertised in photos.
