Property Ratings at Regency Metairie Apartments
Actual apartment is nice and updated BUT. ..Nothing is ever fixed. Gate has been broken for 4 years. Nobody is ever in the office. The new lady in management is very rude and demanding and always has an attitude and complaining. Parking is horrible. They will not replace anything if its broken (will literally patch it up). Does not answer phone calls. People walk around the parking lot at night looking into cars. Water, Rent and Trash went up drastically. You will definitely regret it. Not worth the price!
Horrible nothing gets fixed. Stray cats all over property. Loose dogs jumping on you. Trash all over property. Trash so full it’s in front trash can. Flooding. Pest control doesn’t come. Cats sitting on your car. NO PARKING
The place went downhill after the management changed. We feel abandoned. They are never in the office, the problems are not addressed. Since Ida we don't have a fence. The gate is always open with rocks - that eventually damaged it. Now it does not even close. Some neighbors sells drugs, some fight all the time, they are disrespectfull with our parking spaces, disrespectful about dog poop, disrespectfull leaving trash outside, and the management does nothing. We have a sewer problem near the visitor spaces. It's shameful.
The apartment are nice and updated, once the management change the apartments slowly going down.I’m not sure if Backgrounds are being done because the residents are Sketchy drugs being sold, fighting always going on.The grounds are not being kept up! Trash always on the ground smh.Residents keep they garbage by the front door for days. The parking is horrible. When you come home you don’t know if you have somewhere to park.Other apartment complex park in our spaces The apartments don’t Tow so make it to your apartment at a decent time.Residents keep the gate open with a brick all day.The property Manager don’t care because the apartments are going down and they are really nice in the inside The gates are down all around the apartments so anyone can walk on the property. If you have a newborn please don’t move here because the walls are thin and you hear everything.Residents don’t pick up behind they dog. Grass fill with dog Poop the residents are trifflin. This just half of the problems
I’ve been living here for approximately 5 years. So far everything has been fine up until today. This property was recently sold and new management has taken over. On September 6th 2019, I received a notice on my door stating that my rent has not been be paid, even though I paid my rent on time and in full. I have never been late on my rent while occupying my unit. Apparently, new management engages in poor business practices, and fails to double-check their records to make sure that tenants are truly late on rent before irresponsibly threatening to add on late fees to one’s account due to a supposedly “non-payment of rent.” Thankfully, I still have the receipt to my money order. I will be addressing this inconvenience of an issue with leasing staff during business hours.
Hi everyone, I lived here for 1 year. The area is called Fat City and was once a great place to socialize. 90% of the residential is lower income apartments and town homes. There is the Jefferson Parish 1st District police station a few buildings down. We personally made around 40, 9-1-1 calls for noise complaints, high speeding cars, and theft. My motorcycle was stolen from behind my car in my parking space during a stormy night. The property has a security gate but the gate seldomly closes and the reason given from Ms. Shirley (manager) is so that delivery and guests have access. I think having a entry door is enough but why would that make sense. Parking is an issue. The 1 bedroom apartment only have 1 parking space and not all 2 bedroom have 2 spaces. Per the Jefferson Parish Municipal Code, any 1 bedroom dwelling must have at least 1.5 parking spaces. By law, .5 or 1/2 rounds UP, according to the municipal code. Also, there are not any designated handicapped parking spaces which is a violation of the American Disabilities Act (ADA). The first floor of each building is not handicap friendly since ramps are absent from the sidewalk to the higher slab level. Mold and mildew may become an issue since the bathroom vents are ALL inoperable. The reason given by Ms. Shirley (manager) is b/c there is not any access from the installed vent to the outside, including the 3rd floor apartments. This is also a violation of building code AND health code that can be found on the municipal code website (municode.com). The last major issue with the management company of this property (Sterling and Reed) is that any security deposit or pet deposit will take longer than the Louisiana Revised Statute says it should. According to (statute), the lessor must provide the full refund of any deposit or an itemized receipt of damages and as to why the deposit was kept. After setting up appointments with Ms. Shirley 3 separate times within a 60 days, we finally received our money back on the 62nd day. All of these issues were brought up to the management with respect, and diplomacy. Ms. Shirley is nice but dismissive in all of these issues. I would hate for anyone to have trouble with any of these issues and hope that this manager and management company sees this review and realizes how important it is to step up and fix these issues.
