Property Ratings at Reid's Prospect
I’ve been living here for a little over 2 years. At first, it was great. However, I noticed that every season change, the HVAC system in the apartment would give out. Either the AC stops working in the summer, or the heat doesn’t work in the winter. I call the leasing office and it gets fixed. Last winter though, it took over a month for the heating system to get fixed by maintenance. I had to notify corporate to expedite the matter. This summer, without fail, the AC gave out. The engineer who came to fix it stated the maintenance personnel who fixed the unit in the winter messed it up. This caused my electric bill to soar to over $500. I notify the leasing office, and submit previous bills at their request to show that I never consume that much electricity. They say they’ll get back to me…..and they don’t. I call and call, and it’s one thing after the other. Either the manager is at a meeting or busy doing this and that, or the calls go unanswered. After 3 weeks of calling with no resolution in sight, I’m told the manager is on vacation. How convenient. The last thing they want to do is reimburse me. With all that said, if you’re looking to live at Reid’s Prospect, here is a little heads up on how things could possibly go for you. If maintenance messes up something in your apartment, you will not be reimbursed. As a matter of fact, you’ll be ignored. Don’t say you didn’t know, because I just gave you a heads up!
Don't move here if you're looking for peace and quiet. Things were okay when I first moved here, but now they put a basketball court very close and directly in front of my apartment. Not sure who's bone head decision that was, the community's homeowner's assoc, or the apartment manager. It's extremely noisy now. The leasing office is not willing to work out something fair if I switch apartments, or break my lease because of the noise from the BB court.
While looking for places as a single female in Woodbridge, I came across it all: sketchy, dirty, on the highway, too pricy, suspiciously cheap, etc. You'll find good deals that seem too good to be true, so let me just say it: trust me, you don't want to live on Route 1 in Woodbridge. Ultimately I decided on Reid's Prospect. It's clean, safe, quiet, and parking is never a problem . I love that there are cameras by the entrance, a parking garage, a pool, a gym, and an attentive staff. My only complaint is that the walls are a little thin, but not noticeable enough to detract a star. I commute to public transit (VRE) and the drive is a little far in the mornings but it would be perfect for someone working in the county. It's about a 10-15 minute drive to I-95 from here as well.
My experience at Reid's Prospect has been awesome. I would love to renew my lease here, but the new monthly price is just outrageous. Every time I've locked my keys inside my apartment, Katie (one of the leasing managers) has been to my rescue. Maintence is friendly and trustworthy. They have fixed the few problems that I've had in less than 24 hours. The only complaint that I would have is that they require you to have a parking pass otherwise your car will get towed after office hours. So many times I've seen cars in the resident parking with out passes. And none of them have gotten towed. Which means I, as a resident, have to park farther away which is not fair. They need to be stricter on that.
Reid's Prospect is a clean, friendly, and family-oriented atmosphere. The buildings are well maintained and the staff promptly takes care of any issues. It is a small skip away from the Potomac Mills Shopping Center and I-95. The staff here take the time to get to know you with planned community events like cookouts and breakfast with residents. There is no place like home, especially when home is Reid's Prospect.
Love this place, is soo convenient for me as the school bus picks up my children right on the corner of the property. Landscaping is well maintain. The cleaners that clean on a daily basis are awesome always smells clean and looks clean. Office staff is great even thought they change office personal often. I would recommend this community to any one
These apartments are built so cheap. You can hear your neighbor and they can hear you...conversations, tv, music, and them walking. Its a case of once you are signed to a lease they can care less about you. Kristen in the rental office is not responsive at all to your needs. If it is too difficult she will not respond you will have to contact the management company directly..So glad to be out of here
