The downtown heart of Escondido, Central Escondido, is an artistic blend of historic and new. It’s the location of the city’s oldest park, Grape Day Park, and the California Center for the Arts, Escondido. The brick-paved sidewalks that line Grand Avenue run past a variety of boutiques, gift shops, and bakeries. Maple Street Plaza, located off Grand Avenue, is an esplanade that hosts events. Other great destinations in Central Escondido include the San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum and the Escondido History Center, which features a historic Victorian farmhouse complete with weathervane.
Central Escondido extends from Centre City Parkway east to North Juniper Street. You’ll discover ample apartment communities in the neighborhood, along with several bus stops for car-free commutes. The Escondido Transit Center includes the Sprinter light rail as well as bus service for those traveling to nearby cities, including Oceanside, Encinitas, and Carlsbad.

Property Ratings at Reidy Creek
Having lived here 4 years so far, we can attest to the superb management here. They are kind and respond quickly when repairs are needed. Neighbors are great. It’s a good place to live. The floor designs are such that they feel bigger than they are. The kids play together, the trees are pretty, and it’s a great location in esco for hopping on the freeway.
I have called in several times in the past few weeks every time I get a text notification that a new unit is available to follow up. Each time I call on the apartments.com phone number listed which is recorded no one picks up. When I call their regular office number Jenna picks up and as soon as I say I am interested in a tour she stated that the unit has already been rented and rushes me off the phone. I asked if I could be put on a waiting list to call back as soon as another opens up and she tells me sorry they cant do that, but to sign up for their alerts which I have. Apparently, shes not interested in showing anything which makes me feel sketch about how the apartments actually are, she just wants to you to fill out an app and send the deposit for a unit you have never seen before. They need to get rid of Jenna as she is rude, and always has an attitude over then phone when all youre doing is inquiring about their apartments. I'm not sure if shes in it for the free rent but if she doesnt like her job she should find a new career instead of being rude to friendly to future/possibly future residents.
I moved into phase 1 at the end of April 2016. I wanted to give an update on the new management. Previous manager seems like a nightmare. A new gentleman has taken over, and so far, he seems ok! Initially I was given some misinformation from the previous manager prior to moving in, and while I'm bummed about being locked into a 1 bedroom for now, my other maintenence requests have been handled promptly (usually within the same day), and Justin has been understanding of my frustrations. I've noticed lots of fire alarm/extinguisher/carbon monoxide alarm tests happening lately, so it seems like he is really trying to catch everything up. Parking here does suck. 1 bedrooms come with no parking spot. while 2 bedrooms come with two. You can pay an additional fee to rent a garage, but you will have to provide locustomers. Otherwise, you can park on the street, which I would not recommend on weekends. Within the first week I moved in, my car was broken into. After asking around, it doesn't seem totally uncommon. Tried out the pool today, and it was quite nice! I also love living so close to everything. Easy access to the I-15 and 78, super close to Vons and Starbucks. I've noticed lots of families here. People are really nice! Overall, I'm liking my new apartment! Some things could be improved (baseboards, some older appliances), but it's getting better with each maintainece request.
My wife and I moved out of here in Dec. 2015 after living there for a year. We needed to move because we were in a one bedroom and had our first child while living here, so we needed more space. When we found a new place we wanted to rent we filled out all the necessary paperwork, and gave them a deposit to hold the place. We were told we would here back once everything had cleared. After about a week and a half of waiting we called to see why we hadn't heard back yet. We were told that everything looked great and checked out, and that the only thing they were waiting on was for Reidy Creek to return the verification of residency/rent form. So we waited a few more days and didn't hear back again, so again we called. This time the lady told us that she had called Reidy Creek to ask for them to return it and this time they told her that their fax machine wasn't working, so could they email them the form. So she emailed the form to them and still hadn't heard back, she told us she would call them again and ask. The next day we called a third time and this time she told us that Reidy Creek had finally returned the form, but all they did was scribble "30-day notice not received" across the entire page and returned it unfilled. As you can imagine, this outraged us, it is none of Reidy Creek's business if/why we have not yet given our 30-day notice, perhaps we were going to rent to places simultaneously. The real reason is that we were waiting to ensure we got approved for the new home before we gave our 30-day final notice to our current landlord. Did Reidy Creek management bother calling and asking us why we hand't given our notice yet, giving us a chance to explain it? No, instead they just took the childish route of scribbling it across the page and returning it. Why, even ask for them to resend it by email if you knew that's all you were going to do, why not just tell the lady that you will not fill it out until you have received a 30-day notice? The lady at our prospective new location told us that in 10 years of working there, she had never once had another landlord refuse to fill out the form or act that way. No, you can only find that kind of class at Reidy Creek, I don't know for sure who in the office did it, but if I had to take bets, it was Katie. Katie is both rude and always on the defensive, I guess when you are constantly attacking people you learn to always be in the defensive.
Please make sure you google the apartment and do not only read 1 review site. There are photos that reveal life at Reidy Creek from a resident’s perspective. I could write a novel about how terrible our experience was with the management, In particular the manager Katie. The review does not allow for a lot of detail so here are bullet points. - Break ins of cars - Sirens blaring at all times of the night/day - Management says they will be of service but never follow through - Roommate and I were accused of housing a dog, it was not until we involved the police management backed down. There was no dog - Police visit the complex regularly to arrest or answer 911 calls. - Old and out dated appliances. Fridge was too big we could not open the dishwasher. Poor design - Parking is a nightmare for residents and guests
We moved in yesterday and we are so pleased with the apartment. The new floors are so pretty and will be so easy to clean and maintain. Thank you Reidy Creek Phase 1
great pool good place to meet ladies, good club house and parking is premium
I moved to my new apartment at Reidy Creek Phase II in Escondido, CA. Apartments.com helped me find the right apartment for me. It's a 2-Bed, 2-Bath, beautiful, spacious apartment. My brother came out to stay for a week and loved my place. He said "You are my hero, because you're place is so organized, neat, and beautiful." So that makes me love it even more.
My new apartment is a beautiful 2-Bed 2-Bath at Reidy Creek Phase II in Escondido, CA. Apartments.com helped me find the place that was just right for me. My brother recently visited and stayed in the second bedroom and loved my apartment. He said "You are my hero" because your place is so organized, clean, and beautiful. That made me love my place even more.
Need an apartment 2 call a home! I walked in and was greeted with smiles and acceptance. I Like what I have read and loved what I have viewed & seen. Can't wait until my name comes to the top of the list... I'm getting ready now! I have lived in this neighborhood for 4 yrs. And Esco. For 7 yrs. Love Escodido. Hope they find that I am a great candidate for a home in REIDY CREEK PHASE II Thank you, MS. A. MOORE Waiting on a list for a home in REIDY CREEK PHASE II.
My girlfriend and I have been living here for almost a year now and have really enjoyed it. Our one bedroom is super roomy and the complex itself is nice and quiet. It's not a party place like some of the other apartments in the area. The only downside we've seen is that the jacuzzi closest to our place needs to be cleaned more often. We tried going on it the other day and it was slimy and overwhelmingly filled with chlorine. Otherwise, everything else has been great.
This complex is great and affordable. There are full size washer and dryers inside the units. Although the counter tops are a little outdated it is still a great place. Safe, quiet, friendly people. It is also walking distance to Vons.
I moved here in United States as permanent resident along with my Husband and my children (3 daughter 1 son) last February 2012.. We moved in this Apt June of 2012.. We love it.. Location wise is good.. We love that it has washer and dryer inside the unit.. We never had "much" problems with it. Whenever we have problem/complaint they do respond although they took too much time fixing the problem/complain. That is the issue I think that should be fix for the rate to be a 5 star.
I've lived in this complex for 12 years. The location is very convenient, near the 15 and 78 freeways. The grounds are pleasant enough the the neighborhood is not bad. There are washer and dryers in the units. We have had some nice neighbors we have become good friends with. The buildings are old. We have had four pipe breaks under the slab which had to be jackhammered in our our apartment (not pleasant with a mud hole in your dinning room and dust and dirty blown everywhere.). The biggest drawback is the manager who is as mean and cold hearted as they come. Her absolute purposeful indifference toward the concerns of the tenets is notorious. All the worker at the complex can't stand her attitude as well but the ownership must like her because she looks to ignore or take the cheap way out in dealing with problems. It was a better experience before the current manager.
Good washer and dryer pool close to the freeway garage and two bathrooms with two balconies
I’ve lived at Reidy Creek for 18 months. After my first 12-month lease was up, I immediately signed on for another 12. My 1 bedroom unit is spacious inside, with a dishwasher, full-size refrigerator, AC and full-size washer and dryer. It also has a gas powered fire place and its own water heater so you never have to worry about sharing. My unit is tucked up in the back so there are very little traffic sounds, and there are lots of large trees to keep the area shady so the temperature stays a few degrees cooler on hot days, and if the temperature is too hot, you can always just turn on the AC unit. Did I mention this complex is pet friendly? It is one of the few places in Escondido that takes dogs. There are dog stations through the complex where they provide you with doggy-waste-bags and disposal. There is little in-unit storage due to the washer and dryer (but let’s face it, I’d trade storage space for not having to go to a laundry-mat), but the closet is walk-in, so there is some space there. Also, garages come available to rent, which will provide all the storage space you will need. The landscaping around the complex is suffering from the drought and harsh water restrictions, but that is not something we can blame on management. Angie and Estee are great to work with, they always respond to you quickly and maintenance usually can resolve any in-unit problems quickly (within 23 hours). There’s emergency maintenance too, in case there is a problem after hours. I may be biased because I’ve been here for over a year, but it definitely is a good place to call ‘home’.
The apartment itself is nice and for now meets my needs. However the complex does not offer guest parking on phase ll of the property. I'm 72 years old living on Social Security. My rent is 1410.00 mo. and they want another 25.00 per for Xtra space and $125.00 extra for garage. Not feasible..
First, we have been disappointed with the way this complex is managed. 1. Termite Infestations - the exterminator was told that there was an issue with roaches and was not able to treat for termites. There was never any follow up from management regarding the nature of the visit. 2. Lack of Equipment - the apartment has undergone regular maintenance that has resulting in entire building complaining that fumes from neighboring apartment(s). When as ked to provide fans to relieve the problem, was told all fans were in use and that apartment being repaired was not properly ventilated. 3. Lost Paperwork - had to sign paperwork twice for rental garage. Came in to re-sign paperwork same-day as asked and had to wait to find file, then to find paperwork to sign. 4. Cheap fixtures/Unsatisfactory Repairs - bedroom window is cracked, sliding door's screen has been replaced upside down so that it cannot be locked, broken drawer runners, sloppy paint lines/splotches on tile, etc. 5. False Advertising - Large sign declares that all units have an alarm system. No paperwork is provided to engage the alarm, management does not explain the system, and the system simply does not work and cannot be engaged. Finally, there is an issue with parking. Only one space is provided per unit so that families with more then one vehicle must park on the street. Street parking is limited so one is rarely able to park within a block of their unit. Assigned parking is rarely next to/in from of your building.
With all the beautiful trees everywhere and awesome creek running threw these apartments it is so relaxing and beautiful, the tenants here rarely ever move out, I have been living here for 13 years now and absolutely love the scenery and lush trees. Main streets are lined with trees and shade perfect for an afternoon stroll or a run, the neighborhood is peaceful and family oriented. Stores are all within walking distance and very safe for a night time walk. Neighbors are all kind and peaceful and the surrounding schools are close by as well. You won't want to leave Reidy Creek apartments once you get here!
I've been living in the Phase Two property of Reidy Creek for about 10 months now. Phase One is run by a different management and their reviews weren't all that great, which is why I decided to go with Phase two. Este and Angie in the office are absolutely wonderful. The maintenance crew is very quick to fix any issues you might be having. The apartments are clean, roomy and quiet. I hardly ever hear my neighbors. I also love the fact that I get a washer/dryer in my unit, because I hate public laundry facilities. I also really like the fact that it's on the top of a hill, so you aren't near any busy streets. I would definitely recommend living here!
