Property Ratings at Remington Park Apartments
Horrible management, I lived at Remington park for 14 months and it was a terrible experience. The appliances are so old that the cost of electricity is insane in the warm months (so basically every month living in a climate like Houston), I had my entire wall crack and couldn’t close my bedroom door for 6 months of my lease.. which I was told by maintenance & management the issue couldn’t be fixed until the unit was empty, the last month of my lease my kitchen ceiling leaked from a single 3 hour rain storm. AND If none of that bothers you this should, I would be very weary of giving them any personal Information (drivers license, bank info and SSN). Once I moved out within 2 days I received a 300 dollar charge and was told it needed to be paid in 10 days or I would receive a collections debt on my credit (this has happened to several past renters some upwards of $10,000 in renters credit collection debt and ruined their credit for years, check reviews). I received one email in the middle of moving and never once got a phone call from the office telling me I had a debt due ( I obviously didn’t have my renters account with them anymore after moving to pay said bill), very unprofessional office staff. Not to mention the foundation is cracking, majority of the residents treat the complex disgustingly and there is feral animals running around everywhere (raccoons, cats, BUGS) outdated and way overpriced for a very unenjoyable living environment. I warn everyone to never ever step foot on these apartments.

Living here has been exceptional! The entire team, from the leasing office to maintenance, makes this place a comfortable and welcoming home. I highly recommend to live here!

Yes this place has a gym, basketball court, pools, trash service, etc. Apartments seem pretty nice on the tour you take too. However, basically every aspect of this place is made to look way nicer than it is. The gym is never cleaned. If you touch basically anything, your hands will smell bacterial, like gym socks. The basketball court is nice, but frequently some residents invite dozens of non-residents over and it's chaos there at night. I've heard full-on fights happening outside my window. Fortunately this has been curbed lately. It's got pools, sure, but they're pretty dirty. The filter simply doesn't work, so you're swimming through leaves and debris. It was, for a few weeks during my time here, shut down by the health department. Other times it was lime green. You pay for trash service 7 days a week. I think it's a stupid thing to pay for, but hey it's kinda convenient. Psych, you're lucky if the trash gets picked up half the time for your building, which means if you put it out on the wrong night it can sit there for days. In the summer, it gets bad. Apartments? They're reasonably nice. Except when I moved in the place clearly wasn't inspected because it was roach-infested. And I mean INFESTED, you couldn't turn your head without spotting four or five. Reading other reviews it looks like I wasn't the only one. Management did nothing at all to help me, and never even apologized. And on that note, the front office staff is, with a couple of exceptions, rude and disorganized. For what it's worth, the maintenance team is great, the guys are super nice and get to you in a few days. Honestly, it's not the worst place I've lived by any means, I just think it comes off way nicer when they're showing you the place. If I could do my move to Houston over, I would not have picked this place again.

Hi there. While we appreciate most feedback, yours is very concerning to us. Our community is not infested and we have pest control available upon request weekly. We take pride in our community and keep our facilities clean, like our beautiful pool. Due to the nature of these claims, we feel it would be best to speak with you directly. Please give our office a call when you have a moment. Thanks. -The Team at Remington Park Apartments
I called at 11AM to set a tour at 1PM. The man on the phone put me down & confirmed my appointment for 1PM. I showed up at 12:50, door was locked. I waited till 1:10. I knocked on the door a couple of times, no one answered the door. I clearly saw a man sitting at a desk with his office door open. The sign on the door even said ‘we’ll be back at 11AM’. The man sitting inside ignored me & so I left.

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. After further investigation, we found that we didn't see anyone at the door around the time of your visit. We're sorry that we missed you, and we would like another opportunity to assist you with your apartment search.
Save yourselves now, this place is the worst. The staff in the leasing office are the worst combination of lazy, incompetent and malicious. They will lie to your face without taking a breath, do nothing unless you threaten legal action and routinely 'forget', 'lose' and 'misplace' written documents. Roaches are a constant problem. They've been crawling all over our home since day one and their 'pest control' is a bad joke, you'll be promised a visit within two weeks - two weeks of your home crawling. And then he just won't come. You'll raise a stink, they'll tell you he's not coming back for two more weeks. A month to get a couple of sprays in the back of some cabinets and they consider it job done. No wonder it never gets better. Utilities are old and constantly breaking down, repairs are slow if they happen at all. Maintenance routinely closes out jobs without ever attending much less fixing the problem. Property managers do not talk to anyone unless forced to do so and haven't a clue what's going on. Security gate is often broken, allowing anyone access to the complex so the security staff just sit in their vans and play on their phones because they have no ability to control who comes in.

Hi, there. It is impossible to research our records if you do not provide at least a name that apartment was leased in. Pest control is on site weekly and is by request only, the gates at Remington Park are consistently in working order. If you would like to provide your name, we would be happy to research and respond accordingly.
Come July 2022 (the peak of summer) I had a pest issue was at its worst I’d ever seen. Roaches specifically among other bugs. It was normal to see 4-5 every time I’d leave me room at night. What made it worse was I had roaches IN MY REFRIGERATOR. I reported it immediately. This was 7/4/2022 8/11/2022 I report again that nothing has been done about roaches in my fridge despite numerous reports. The mx man confirmed that he saw roaches when he came. Still nothing from the front office. Sometime between this ticket and the last, they had me remove everything from my cabinets and countertops to let their pest control do a deep treatment. I had to be away for 3-4 hours. I waited two weeks since they said expect to see more roaches directly after since they’re trying to escape the chemicals. Today is 9/12 and the issue is not any better. I am even seeing roaches crawl up from my shower drain while I shower. Yes, you read that correctly. I have a video of a roach simply appearing at my feet in the shower. 9/12/2022 I asked the property manager about my options to terminate my lease. She said I have to pay 75% of the remaining contract which would be over $4k. I refused, citing pest issues. She said I could be moved to a new unit on the property. I refused, citing pest issues. She said they could move me to another one of their properties, I would rather not, because I don’t feel valued as a resident with this company. I requested her supervisor’s contact info. I’m awaiting their call back. The property manager said I have no grounds for legal termination since I do not technically have an “infestation.” She says the gaps between my reports were too large to suggest a real issue. She says the roaches in my fridge were not alive (well how do you think they got there?). She insists that she has personally walked my unit and didn’t see any roaches. Well of course not, they come out at night. Her assistant manager has personally seen roaches in my ice maker and fridge. The issue they took over a month to fix. They eventually gave me a fridge from another unit. If anyone would like proof, I have pictures and videos of all of these things. If you don’t mind roaches it’s really not a bad place. Otherwise, the staff is friendly and usually responsive. But this pest issue has been wildly mishandled. For that reason, I cannot in good faith recommend this complex to anyone.

Almost all the ones that I tried opting for had one or the other issue ex.unsafe neighbourhood, poor maintenance, too far from the city. Finally I relaized that Remington might be the best option available. PROS : Prime location-Walmart,Sams,Starbucks,ER CARE,ChickFilA,Subway all in a 2 min walking distance. Very good maintenance Excellent amenities CON : Price might be high but if you are lucky to get a booking in advance you tend to get a decent rate and trust me its worth it. And as of me I moved to a different unit here and hoping to have a similar experience

Hi there! We appreciate you for taking the time to share what you love about your living experience. We take pride in providing a beautiful and conveniently located community for our residents! Please don't hesitate to let us know if you have any additional suggestions to help us enhance our community.
The only thing good about these apartments is the location. Staff is only helpful when it’s something they prefer to help you with. The mailboxes have been broken into twice. The concierge for deliveries has been broken more times than I can count. And the building alarm goes off for hours at a time at extremely early morning hours. It’s a headache. People abandon furniture and trash in the hallways when the move out, and it stays there for wells, sometimes months, before anyone gets rid of it. The hallways are always filthy and let’s not mention the flooding. Nothing they can really do about that but, it’s just another downside to this place. Be prepared to park your car on a hill, in front of the complex, or at one of the store parking lots nearby whenever heavy rain comes. Also, be prepared for any type of insurance you have to go up. This is place is not only a flood zone, (yes, my car has flooded here), but it is a higher crime area. So keep these things in mind when considering living here. Again, try at your own risk.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. We have had some recent work done on our alarm system, which made them go off but now that is resolved. We have never had anyone break into our package lockers and once we see dismantled furniture, we get someone to take care of it as soon as possible. We would love the opportunity to speak with you directly about your claims and clear up any misunderstandings. Thank you again and we hope you have a great day.
I have been living here for a little over a month now and the units are great. The leasing office staff are very understandable and sweet. The location is great. The only thing I can say is an issue is upon moving in the roaches are out of this world! They were really but they offer pest control for free and the problem has went away, also the stairwells are very dirty.

We really appreciate your kind words regarding Remington Park! Remember, the office is always just a quick phone call away should you ever need anything. Our team is here to help, thanks again!
Everyone in the leasing office has been amazing and helpful; especially Berenice, she has gone absolutely above and beyond for us! We moved in during the widespread power outages after the snow storm. Despite the city-wide chaos and confusion, Berenice kept us updated and in the loop at all times. She went out of her way to ensure that our move-in was smooth and easy! Everybody has completely exceeded our expectations! I could rave about them for hours, and that's just the leasing office! The apartment itself and the overall community are both fantastic! Our apartment is so much nicer than we could have hoped for, and all of our neighbors have been friendly and welcoming. Not to mention, the complex is safe, we're in a prime location, and there's plenty of parking. Living here has gone beyond every one of my expectations. I cannot recommend this place enough!

Began my search for my new home a couple of months ago. I work in the Gallera and spend my weekends in Rice Village, so it was very important to live close to both. I ultimately choose Remington Park Apartments because they have the most friendly people in the office.

Moved in 6 months ago and I have to say, I am very impressed with the staff, they keep the grounds clean and the amenties are great. Very nice fitness center that is open early, I go in at 5am to workout. I rented a garage when I moved in and so glad I did. I have a dog that I could never part with so it is nice that the property is pet friendly, in fact I rented an apartment that includes a very large private fenced in pet patio.

This apartment has the worst construction I ever seen, leaking everywhere! I've thrown 3 mattresses away, because of the indoor raining. Kids have to be awake from sleeping, sad!!!!
They were so nice and accommodating before I moved in, which is ultimately why I chose this place. Big mistake. As soon as I moved in they no longer cared. They had made their sale, and that's all they cared about. Not only did they change management in the three times that I lived there, but it never seemed to improve. By the time I had moved out, my first floor apartment had been infested with the highly invasive German Roaches. I had mentioned it to the office multiple times to get an exterminator to come, and either he came when I was at work, or not at all. Either way, the roaches persisted. Also, starting on the very first day I moved in, I had an issue with the very large dog that lived above me. It would jump around wildly and bark through the night. When I mentioned it to management they said “well the person in there before you never complained so it must not be that bad” and nothing was done about it. When I wrote a large check to pay for my covered parking space for the entirety of my lease length, the next day the office had leased it out to someone else. So I didn’t get to park in my spot for a week, despite having paid upfront in full, nor was I refunded for the time that I did not get to park in my spot. Finally, when I moved out I did not receive my deposit refund within 30 days. When I called to ask where it was I had been told that it was processed and would be on the way. When I still did not receive it a week later I went in to the office to ask if someone could tell me where it was, and I was told that they would look into it and get back to me. The next week I had not heard from them so I went in again and turns out that it hadn’t even been processed, and the Assistant Property Manager had absolutely zero sympathy towards me. I asked her to rush it, since I had waited long enough, and she shrugged it off and said there was nothing she could do. She was very rude, considering that legally I could have pursued it as a violation of contract. Ultimately she sent me an email saying that she had put a rush on my check… Funny because she had previously told me that there was nothing she could do to speed up the process. I received my check and now I can finally say good riddance.
I'd recommend anywhere else than Remington Park Apartments in Houston. The staffs are extremely unprofessional and hard to reach. If you live here and go to the leasing office, you'd need to expect to wait for at least 30min until you get some help. Somehow, all the leasing office doors are closed (it was open before even when they meet prospective renters) all the time. They're extremely hard to reach once you live here. You will be ignored. They are NOT responsive to emails or phone calls. They would say we can contact them to speak issues but in reality, it is impossible for us to speak to them. Besides this issue, this apartments are full of garbage bags all the time. Many ignore the trash valet policy so this apartment is extremely dirty and smelly. I would avoid living here at all cost.
The apartment and admenities are nice but I experienced reoccurring problems with the air conditioner and other appliances; Maintenance doesn't respond in a timely manner. I lost 2 cars within a 12 month lease due to flooding. The apartment doesn't do any thing to accommodate residents and management seems to be very non chalant to the flooding issue. It doesn't have to be a flood storm, Remington Park floods very easily!! Every time it rains, residents have to run outside to save their cars no matter the time of night. That's no way to live.

Thank you for your feedback. Our goal is to present a positive, dignified and businesslike image at all times through our appearance, behavior, and interactions with others. If we failed to meet your customer service expectations, we sincerely apologize. The flooding was two 100 year floods within 11 months and all of Houston had an issue. We have finished the detention pond to help alleviate this problem. Please contact us at 713-668-1000 or remingtonparkmgr@greystar.com so we can address your specific concerns. We look forward to speaking to you soon!
We rented a 2 bedroom apartment at Remington apartment, few days after we moved in we realised that the apartment was not ready to move in and is health therentening as both of us got really sick due to the fact that the manager decided not to change the carpets which had carpet beetles and sprayed them with huge amounts of pesticide chemicals, which she told us it was dust and it's normal. The kitchen was full of bugs and she decided to spray the apartment while we were in it again which made us even sicker and on top of it asked us not to use the kitchen for 3 days and to clean it again ourselves and on our cost. So we decided to leave and terminate the lease and she refused to refund our money. Simply it's a fraud and the management is very bad and unprofessional, you go to see the manager you are told she is in a meeting when she is eating and comes out with mouth full of food. they never collected the garbage as they should which caused so many incest. I would not recommend it at all
Do not live here, anywhere else is better than Remington Park Apartments in Houston. The staff (Grey Star property management) is incompetent and can not help you with most trivial things. Since I have lived there, the parking lot and parking garages have flooded over 6 times, it floods every time it rains even a little, and it floods to the point that cars are ruined and classified by insurance companies as totaled(as seen in the pictures below). They hire cheap and poor quality maintenance people, and also hired a cheap construction company to correct fire compliance and safety issues they had with all their units. The construction lasted for almost two years where all you heard all day 7 days a week was hammering, sawing, sanding and other construction noises, and I did not have any access to my balcony for over 7 months, no compensation given or offered for it. The construction company also did not clean up ever, so the halls and stairs, parking lot and sidewalks were covered in dust, nails, staples, wood, etc (as seen in the pictures below). My AC has also broken down three times last summer and it has broken down over three times this summer in less than two months time. Two of the times my AC had broken down, I had to wait over two days before they could get it fixed, where my apartment was over 85 degrees, and again no compensation or alternatives were offered or given to me.

The staff has been very friendly and helpful during the construction of the apartments. I've Lived here for 5 years. The pool is my favorite during the summer. The exercise gym would have you consider cancelling your current gym memberships and the free workout classes are a bonus

Summertime is fast approaching! See you at the pool! Thank you for the review!
The apartments are very aptly called Remington Park. There is ample space on its premises to walk, jog and even cycle if you like .Away from the crowd of the other apartments(there is only one that is now coming up across the street),there is an unobstructed flow of breeze making the place quite airy in the summers and yes also cold in the winters. And then there is the park within the park - the dog park for your canine friends. The location of this aprtment complex is excellent- there is a brand new walmart across the street for your weekly shopping (including groceries and fresh produce, even has a subway inside it) and a sam's club next door. Then there is the Galleria mall which is just about 2 miles from here. The texas medical center is about 6 miles if you happen to work there and if you are in IT like me your place of work may not be very far from here. Like most apartments in this price range , this one has a well maintained gym with some fitness classes,a pool and a basket ball court(which I have not seen in any of the apartments I have lived so far) and ofcourse the ubiquitous barbecue place. The apartment managment is good- never had any problems with them and the maintenance staff fix issues quite promptly. The one problem the apartments have is flooding in the rainy seaon in the front side of the complex which the managment resolves to fix soon. This year it was really bad for the residents in the front portion of the apartment complex. If they can fix this one problem and allow residents the freedom to choose internet and tv services from providers other than ATT,this place would be a 5 starrer.Note: some apartments do have the luxury of going with Comcast for internet based on their location. The apartments are safe , there is security at the front gate not at all times though.I have had a few issues with noise from my neighbours' apartments whch were promptly sorted out by the management and there is valet trash and a dumpster for collecting recyclable waste available .
