Property Ratings at Remington Woods
They are disorganized and rude. They sent us an eviction letter and we pay the rent on time just because we are long-term tenants and pay less in monthly payments. What if I had lost proof of the payment order? What would it be? They only clean the hallways once a year, in front of my house and in front of neighboring apartments I had to sweep myself so as not to live in the rubbish. They don't have garbage collection and depending on the location of your apartment you have to walk more than two blocks, either with garbage in hand or leaving your car smelling to get rid of it. And if you complain to them, put a bad rating on their own platform, they just don't renew the contract, forcing you to move, even though you still want to live here because of the schools. They say they send letters informing you of maintenance visits, but they don't and you only find out when the guy is already entering your house through the security camera. I know this would have to be sued. The apartment is small, you can't store much. The amount they ask is for a small apartment, with terrible service.
Cockroaches in my unit that 3 treatments haven't resolved, was being stalked and harassed by my neighbor, mgmt approved me for an apartment and then told me I was unable to move in because previous tenants revoked their move out and tried to get me to up charge me for a more expensive, vacant unit instead. no parking, management is the worst of any property I've ever lived.
No parking whatsoever, lazy office staff that just closed the pool/gym for an entire year because they didn’t want to clean or even leave out Clorox wipes for us to clean up after ourselves – instead just shut everything down. No grills because they’re in the pool area which is closed, even though they could have moved them to another location, but no grills in the garages or on your decks either! We just moved out in April but started looking for a house back in December. We had talked to the front office several times about short term leases including month to month, 3 month leases, and 6 month leases. When we actually went to renew though 2 days later, suddenly they only did month to month leases for an extra $500 or a 12 month lease. They knew we couldn’t do anything but the month to month lease and took advantage of the situation as compared to all the other apartments I’ve heard of throughout covid giving their tenants an easier time. We had a couple living beneath us and I didn’t sleep for 6 months due to their screaming matches, slamming doors, and vacuuming from 11pm-5am and reported this to the front office no less than 15 times. The few times I would actually receive a response, it was noncommittal and mentioned starting an eviction process but no clear time frame. They eventually told us they wouldn’t evict the couple but just put notices on their door to keep quiet which did nothing. Didn’t receive our security deposit even though they said they would send part of it back (took most of it for “carpet stains” even though they replace the carpet anyways….). They said they sent it two months ago but never received it and now they won’t rewrite it. Lastly, the water/electric billing is shady – the company that owns the apartment complex apparently owns the water and electric billing company and they bill you by splitting the amount between all the tenants regardless of how much water/electric you use. So even if you’re on vacation or move out on the 2nd of the month, you still have to pay the overpriced electric bill for the entire month!
You can’t use the amenities. There is not enough parking. Children roam the road with little to no supervision. No one does anything about people not picking up after their dogs. Water is billed based on the whole complex. Even electric is expensive. The management is bad. Save yourself the frustration.
Not only we should be happy when we move in but also we should be happy when we move out. Staff treats the tenants without respect. I have stayed for 2 years and when I moved out they charged me with insane charges. When I tried to talk instead of talking kindly and sorting they replied you have to pay else we will send to collections. These guys are not ready to understand customers. These guys don’t provide a yearly carpet cleaning. If you are staying on 1st floor beware of pests like red ants coming under the carpets. After 7 if you take your car out beware you will not find a parking spot. Looks like when you move out they don’t deep clean the apartment or clean the carpet to rent it out to new customers. Instead they will charge the previous tenants with those charges to save their personal charges. They have to understand for customers it’s not about money it’s about treatment. At this point even if they charge me with zero dollars. I would never suggest this apartments to anyone. I would like to report to property owners but I’m unable to find number. If someone would like to paste it here it would be great.
I enjoy the building itself, and the maintenance crew is kind. However, the people who work in the front office are consistently rude and unhelpful. The times I have gone in for assistance they have been unsure of the answer, and unhelpful in helping me find the answer. I am 24 years old and look young, and every time I have gone in I feel like I have been treated like a child and talked down to. I am moving because the management is so difficult to work with. If you don't mind dealing with rude people when you need to go into the office, it can be an okay place to live. f that will bother you I recommend finding another place. The apartment itself is nice, I never hear my neighbors and I feel safe in the area. On a separate note, I have had multiple packages stolen after they have been delivered
Shout out to the staff for taking the initiative, following through and taking care of me. When I applied back in December Grace the assistant manager had me approved, gave me everything I needed to know upon move in and even gave me my lease to review all the same day. It was seriously the easiest moving experience. The girls at the front desk are always welcoming when I come and get my packages.
Very bad experience with current management in Oct 2019.They do not know how to talk with customers.I suggest it not good to leave senior management should get notice.I am currently living in Remington woods but thinking move out from Remington woods.
I never write reviews on anything, but this management company has driven me to act in the best way I know how. I have lived here for three years and I am currently in the midst of my third horror story (with plenty of other minor inconveniences in between). Without going into too much detail, I'll say that the first was receiving an eviction notice for failure to pay rent after the rent had already been paid early *hard eye roll*. Tonight, the water is randomly out with no access until 6am. We were notified that the water would be out last week, but apparently the maintenance was rescheduled for tonight. We received 0 notifications about this from the office. I believe I'm a reasonable person so if they told me they really didn't know this was going to happen, I would be willing to retract this statement. However, right now I find it hard to believe that an entire office full of people had no idea that the water would be out. I'm normally not a public complainer, but when you have kids to care for, what were once minor issues become a much bigger deal.
I have lived at this property almost 3 years now and although the management has changed multiple times, I finally feel that they have the right people for this property as they seem to really care for the residents, unlike the previous management. The staff has been nothing but polite and helpful and the maintenance staff is always prompt! I am amazed by some of the reviews, like do you live at the same place I do!? Personally my car was rummaged through a couple years ago and although I was upset....this county has a higher median income, it makes sense that thieves arent stealing from poor areas right? It really can happen anywhere so that shouldn't be blamed on the complex. All I'm saying is my personal experience has been wonderful so take the reviews with a grain of salt....
Lived here for 2 years and the first year was wonderful. During our second year at the residence, ownership changed multiple times. During that period, apartments were broken into, no parking rules were enforced, and we were lied to by the front office. We were told that cameras were going to be placed in breezeways in order to "catch" trash can rule violators; however, cameras were not installed. We moved out in February and as of April 15th we have not received our security deposit. This ownership is quick to enforce rules when it works for their benefit, but is extremely slow in areas that benefit residences. Front office employees often were rude and disrespectful. Also, they NEVER answer the phone. I would often call several times a day and wouldn't get a response. For the cost, there are much better apartments around this one that make this location not worth your while. Parking will ALWAYS be a problem due to poor design and management. Stay away from Remington Woods and find a better place to live.
I have lived here for 4 1/2 years and by far this has been the worst rental property I have ever lived at! The management doesn’t follow up with requests, they ignore any calls about your apartment, and best of all my apartment got broken into and I found out after the fact that there has been 10 other break ins in the neighborhood! And that’s not including people’s cars! The apartment management did nothing about it! I would not recommend this place to anyone. It may be in a nice area but I bet a apartment complex off of Morse road doesn’t even have these types of problems.
First year was okay. I'll be short and sweet about the second. Place is trash. Apparently they let trashy people in as well...I had to call 911 on my neighbor across the street at 5am for a domestic violence situation. Saw a man drunk do a hit and run in the parking lot, then a few hours later paramedics and cops were reviving him outside where he was laying on the pavement. Garbage men found him. People leave tampons in the pool, which it's tiny any ways so have fun with that. God forbid you get a middle or bottom floor unit, you can hear every step and cupboard that your neighbor takes and opens. They will leave a notice to enter your apartment at a certain time on said date but never show. Have been through 2 or 3 different property managers in the 2 years I've been here. When I was in the hospital giving birth to my son we received an email about complaints of my dog barking. Sorry we were in the hospital and didn't have time to put her in boarding. Dogs bark. Yet I hear all kinds of barking and never say a word. No one cleans up after their dogs since we're on that topic. I am constantly stepping in poop even though they provide a scooper and bags. Residents are lazy. They don't even put trash in the compactor instead they leave it outside of it. It looks and smells terrible. I almost fell multiple times while pregnant because the stairs hadn't been salted and were sheets of ice. Parking is a train wreck. There aren't enough spaces so you're forced to park on the sides of the lot. I have seen one particular car not move in over one year. Oh and they also require 60 day notice to vacate even if you're month to month. Never heard of that. Not sure how you can even secure a place that far in advance and the purpose of month to month is to leave whenever. I understand a 30 day notice that's fine but 60? When I complained the property manager basically told me tough crap. Yet if I had given notice and not found this other place you can't redact it. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy.
I’ve lived at Remington for a little over a year and my experience has been wonderful. The pool looks excellent. The staff is great. Any issues I’ve had have been properly taken care of. I’m happy to call Remington my home.
Property Manager at Remington Woods, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your positive feedback! - The Team at Remington Woods
Lived here with a roommate and had a great time with no issues. The location is nice and wooded with direct access to High St. It was peaceful and quiet with close access to Highbanks Metro Park. I had fun neighbors and never found parking to be an issue.
And then the company that originally built and managed it sold it to an out of state management company. It was poorly managed from then on. There have been at least 3 managers in less than a year and a half. The staff is not helpful and it takes many attempts just to have a phone call answered. I made at least 6 complaints over a six month period to get an issue resolved. They just don't seem to care. They have cut back on office hours as well. The property used to be decorated to the max with abundant flowers and giant hanging baskets in the summer, fall seasonal decorations and beautiful holiday lights. It was beautiful to drive in and fun to live there. Now there are some scrawny flowers in the summer and nothing outside for the holidays. The maintenance people routinely ignore the 24 hour notice to enter that is required on the lease. It has happened multiple times that I am leaving at 7am to go to work and find a notice has been placed on my door overnight that they are coming in that day, so virtually no notice is given. Yet the notice is dated 3 days before as if they had put it there earlier. I have complained about this multiple times. It's too bad because it is a lovely setting with lots of trees and great architecture. The rent is not cheap and living here has become unsafe and annoying. Oh, and lots of barking dogs. I pay extra for an outside patio and can't even enjoy it as I get barked at when I come or go.
Our family doesnt feel at home here. The employees in the office send out letters all the time with threats of fines. Never once do they just send out something nice or thanking you for giving them $1000 month to live in the community. The trash situation is out of control. In the center of our community is a disgusting heap of it that is never cleaned. it got so bad that they put up a fence around it and now its outside of the fence even. PAY TO GET IT CLEANED or make it easier for people to put trash out (Not on our front porches or on YOUR schedule, this is OUR community).
We moved in shortly after the units were built and everything was great - until they sold the property and replaced the staff. They are rude, unhelpful, and make you feel like you are on trial just for calling and asking a question. Heaven help you should you need actual help - Have you ever talked to someone that you could tell was more interested in finding a way deny your request than even do the bare minimum to help you? Bingo, that's Remington Woods Staff.
I would never recommend anyone to live here. I was told that I needed to move into the center floor of my apartment since it was the "last unit left". Well, I was the only one in the whole building for a solid MONTH before anyone else moved in AND I heard them showing the apartments on the top floor AFTER I moved in. They just wanted me to rent the center floor so that they wouldn't have to try and rent it once other people moved in and you could hear all the noise. Also, out neighbor below us played music so loud, and his dog barked CONSTANTLY and the management never did anything to solve this issue. They also left kittens in cat carriers OUTSIDE IN THE SUMMER in the corner next to the front door for about 8 hours in 100 heat. I assume they died... The management is awful and they lie about trying to remedy situations. They told us that they called the person who lived below us, but they never did. We finally couldn't take it anymore and paid money to break our lease and move. Even though other people get away by playing loud music and having their dog bark 24/7, which breaks the lease contract, and nothing is done about it.
I moved to Columbus in July 2016 for a temporary job assignment. I viewed a half dozen apartments in the area at the time, and decided on Remington Woods for their fair prices and proximity to my office (JPMC). The apartment itself was fine -- it was a bit on the small side for a one bedroom, but it was completely brand new and had everything I needed to settle for a few months. Unfortunately, everything worked out poorly after I moved in. AT&T is the only cable/internet provider in the area, and they could not find my apartment since it was brand new and not on their map. After many (MANY) calls with their technical support team, I found out that the street address in their system was Royal Landing Ct. instead of Royal Landing Dr. It took over a month for them to correct the database error, and I had no internet or cable for weeks. My neighbor also said that his packages were delivered to the airport, since the post office also couldn't find the address. I never ordered any packages, but beware of that if you do. The other issue I had was with Remington's lease breakage policy. I had a new job opportunity that came up in September, so I needed to break the lease after 2 months. I thought the lease breakage policy was very aggressive -- $1800 fee plus two month's rent AFTER you moved out. Sub-leasing is not allowed, so you're stuck with the full cost. Be prepared to spend $3500 if you have to break the lease. When I left, the property manager (Mark) said that there was a chance they could re-lease my apartment before the two months and I could get some money back. But he called me in October to let me know that I had a late fee for that month, even though I didn't live there anymore. He said that the apartment's policy is to never lease the unit for the two months that it is vacant. Even if somebody else wanted to move in to that apartment, they would not allow them to lease that unit while it sat vacant and collected dust. I wish there was a move out agreement form that gave the details, but they literally gave me a blank sheet of paper and told me to write down the date I was moving out and my new address. I thought the staff was deceitful about their lease breakage policy. Your experience may differ, but make sure that you won't need to break the lease before your term ends. Spending 5k for two months in an apartment without internet was absolutely brutal for me.
I witnessed a Convected felon drug dealer. Stolen cars. Residents having people living in complex not on lease. Long period of time. Prostitution. I was threatened to be shot. Columbus Police Department and Columbus Fire Department have found concerns to residents safety. Manager is Belivus. Never comes out of his office.
I have lived in Remington Woods since August 2014 which was only a few months after they initially opened. Since I relocated for work from another state, I was very unfamiliar with the Columbus area and my top priorities were a safety and being dog friendly! I choose the smallest unit because it fit my budget and was available when I needed to move. The office staff are very friendly, area is safe, and it is close to lots of shopping (8 minutes from Polaris mall). If anything breaks (which is rare since the buildings are new) it is repaired very promptly. The complex is beautiful, very pet friendly, and they do a great job of clearing the parking lot when there is snow. Even though the property is described as Lewis Center it is actually on the boarder (northern part of Worthington and southern part of Lewis Center) which is good if you have kids and want the Olentangy schools. Pros: accessible to highways (270/315 & 71), close to shopping & dining, beautiful/new apartments, quiet and safe. Cons: very limited storage/small closets, constant construction/traffic on 23 (only route to 270/315), far from downtown, limited parking (not assigned to each unit), and affordability for size (< 700 sqft is very small). Again it is a very nice apartment complex and for the Polaris are it is affordable. If you are flexible with square footage and a new/updated apartment is your top priority, you will love this place. I am considering moving at the end of my lease but only because I need more storage space and cannot afford to go above my current rent.
This place is so beautiful. The staff here, Katie, Laura and Vicki are extremely friendly and professional. It was very important to get a lower level unit due to the special needs of my daughter and they went over and beyond to make sure that was possible. They have accommodated my families every need with a smile. Great schools and location. The club house is top notch. It's stressful planing to move but the wonderful staff here made it less painless and a great experience. I want to personally thank everyone for welcoming my family and I to our new neighborhood. I would with out a doubt recommend Remington Woods as a place to live. The Reed Family.
I usually don't do reviews, but I recently applied to move in there at Remington Woods for March and I have had the most exceptional experience. I spoke with Paul over the phone and he painted an amazing picture of the community and the apartment for me. He told me everything about it and answered all of my questions before I had to ask. I was really impressed with the free gym membership that they offered as well, you don't see that at many places. I went ahead and applied before I saw the apartment, which made me a little nervous. But, when I went into take a look at it I was extremely pleased. I was welcomed at the door by Lara, the property manager, and Kate, I believe was her name. They greeted me with a very warm and welcoming demeanor which really put me at ease. When I went on the tour with Paul he really got me excited about everything. They have so much to offer! I almost expected that once I applied I would get a "ho-hum" experience when I came in, but was quite surprised when I got just the opposite. I am so looking forward to moving in to Remington Woods, as they have really taken the stress of apartment searching off of my shoulders so that I can relax and focus on spending time with my family before I move.
In a world where sometimes customer service is overlooked for weekly monthly and quarterly sales quotas. The Remington staff has without a doubt been focused on customer service as their highest priority. I am a new future resident that has not only had an awesome first encounter of the human kind. Lol But I was treated in a way that let me know I was a priority of this community before matters were solidified. My son has been a long time member of Ardent home communities. He tells me that the consistency of the customer is not temporary but sustaining. I look foreword to being a long time resident here. Ardent at Remingtons resume is impeccable. Oh did I mention that the manager is proactively concerned about everyone. Her approach compliments the staff as they work together as one unit with the same objective. Thank you Remington for making life comfortable from the start Sincerely, Landers B
