Both Cedar Mill and Cedar Hills are tranquil suburbs known for their upscale residential communities. In fact, in 1961, the residential construction of the Cedar Mill and Cedar Hills area became the largest project of its time in the western United States. Because of its proximity to Downtown Portland and to central shopping centers, Cedar Mill and Cedar Hills both have growing populations.
Since their development, the communities have added more houses and residential enclaves, followed by a number of top-notch schools and community centers. The area booms with a community atmosphere, convenient shopping centers, and peaceful local parks.
The Cedar Mill and Cedar Hills communities lie within Beaverton, and traveling to Downtown Portland, just seven miles to the east, is an easy commute. Exciting attractions like Washington Park, Oregon Zoo, Portland Japanese Garden, Pittock Mansion, and Providence Park are just minutes away.

Property Ratings at ReNew at Cornell
I like living here. Neighbors are mindful and friendly. There seems to be a lot of police calls though. Not really sure why but I've seen a decent amount of police cars and cops talking to residents in my one year of living here. Besides that it's been great. And it doesn't feel like anything scary has happened? Hopefully just noise complaints or something.
My husband and I have lived here for almost two years and we’ve had a great experience. The office safe is great and I love that they host events for the tenants
Terrible management, allowed contractors to access my apartment without proper notice. Rent is too expensive for the quality of the home/maintenance. I hate living here.
The atmosphere was very friendly, and the prices seem like a value for what you are getting.
The lady who showed the room was very professional, had all the information at hand when anything was asked about, and the complex was very clean and quiet.
Verified Resident who has lived here over a year. Would never recommend this place. At first glance, its great seems to have everything you want BUT if you are looking for a complex that is respectful, honest, and communicative you will not get that here. Maintenance has been restaffed every 3 months. No one seems to be able to respond in a timely manner and the issues with maintenace in the homes is not habitual. I just had spoken to some residents as well... they have black mold growing on their ceilings and walls... funny how not a single person has helped them on this as its a health hazard. I have mold in my ceiling with a leak that still hasnt been repaired for over a month now going on two (its coming from the roof) and the doors inside are place have been fixed three times all of which they told me theyd be back with the correct parts to fix them since they werent properly installed... have I seen anyone come back since october 2020... NOPE. Dont waste your time and dont fall for the reviews.
If you like a quiet, well maintained, well insulated, and a positive atmosphere this is NOT the place to live. Downstairs apartments are the absolute noisiest downstairs apartment I’ve ever lived in, the place is built terribly and this also makes for significantly higher utility costs too. If you have a dog beware while they do have a dog park it’s not well maintained and is a little hazardous and they consistently rent to people with aggressive dogs. They’re currently renovating the interiors to charge more and it’s just not worth it or comparable to other properties. Run away!
Lovely place to live, if you can afford it
The price for the area is comparable, all of the staff here are a delight, and the units are decent size! The vaulted ceilings (obviously we have an 2nd floor unit) are a nice treat the really open up the space. AND if you have pets, this complex does not restrict the breed (from what I've seen). All of these qualities make this complex something special.
I would recommend this place because the units are very cute, office staff has been amazing to work with, and the amenities make this complex something special.
I personally love it here! Especially moving in during the start of Covid, everything was very smooth and stress free! My limited I have had with the office staff and maintenance staff have been amazing. Everyone seems like a real person you can talk to and relate to. This is my 6th apartment and is my favorite I have lived at so far, largely because the staff is so down to earth and easy to deal with when needed.
Neighbors in building were quiet and respectful, therefore would recommend.
It is impossible to get a timely response from the office (non maintenance) regarding issues emailed. Can never reach via phone or receive a call back and I have lived in the community for 5+ years.
I would. But not for longer than two years. As a single occupant it is too high. Water sewer garbage seems to be rather high
Community is quiet, lots of parking, respectful neighbors. Maintenance of apartment was subpar and a lot of things wrong or needed fixing that still haven't been addressed
We love it here! The community is amazing, the apartment is well appointed and in great shape. It's quiet and nice. We can't wait to see the new gym!
I have recommended and had already one person move in and two others planning.
Atmosphere is great in the community and I am aware that empty units are being upgraded.

Even when an amenity in our apartment was hard to fix and find a solution to, the staff was responsive and never seemed annoyed at our constant request for help, until the problem was fixed.

Thanks for your positive feedback. We work really hard to make sure our Residents are taken care of! DesaRae Robbins Property Manager
Since the new management company took over maintenance has greatly improved.
Great location. Good price. Good amenities. However, I would say: be prepared to step in dog poop, and be prepared to have apartment checks for random reasons... And management not give you an adequate window of when to take off work so your pets don't get out of apt....

Maintenance responds quickly, it's close to the inner state, and I like the area in which I live as I feel safe
Love the office people, feel very safe and comfortable walking around with my dogs. Neighbors are friendly and respectful.
It is a great community. Everyone is polite and it is pretty quiet.
The staff here are friendly and readily available. The apartments have a great layout. And as a large dog owner, this is the best place to live in Portland
Definitely love the community, the apartment, and how prompt that maintenance tickets are handled. Have and will continue to recommend this complex to friends and family.
I love the upkeep and peaceful community. The location and layout of the apartments is ideal for my kids and peace of mind.
It's a good place for people that are needing an affordable place to live for a few years.
I like how quiet it is however living next to the pool is terrible because people are loud and are in it way past 10.
Depends on The Who- some I wouldn’t even tell I live here while others perhaps. Great for those just starting out perhaps, not family sanitation friendly- dog feces everywhere kids can’t just play on grass or even near the edges of grass no playground. Otherwise relatively quiet community, safe and I haven’t heard of any vandalism.
It’s a decent price, and the apartments are decent. Floor plans could be better and more open. More dog friendly would be a plus and bigger wall to block highway noise is badly needed.
Every other week we have an issue with our apartment that they just don't fix. Whatever you so so not rent from these people. We want to get our of our lease but can't afford too so we are suck here! It's also not remodeled it is just new door know handles on cabinets and spray paint fake stone fly the countertops. It is not worth the money.
The office staff and maintenance have been incredibly receptive and responsive. I appreciate their attentiveness and patience with me. They answer my questions and address my concerns and needs. I appreciate that very much. Very cordial The outdoor grounds and amenities are well kept- the bbq near the fire pit is extremely dirty and the garden bench is broken but everything else seems cared for.
I have been living here over 20 years. It is a very safe place and the neighbors are amazing and the staff is very nice.
Definitely been one of the best apartment experiences I've had, with friendly office staff, reasonable rental rates, and quick responses to service requests. Plan on remaining at Stoneridge at Cornell for the foreseeable future.
I love where my apt is but I don't want to live close to family
The apartment feels homey, the community seems welcoming and inviting, the rent is extremely reasonable, and the location is great. But there are downsides, such as having to pay for a carport, limited space for a dining room table, and a VERY small washer and dryer.
Definitely been one of the best apartment experiences I've had, with friendly office staff, reasonable rental rates, and quick responses to service requests. Plan on remaining at Stoneridge at Cornell for the foreseeable future.
Could not select less than 1 star otherwise would have chosen negative. Think twice before you move here - New management is horrible. Maintenance request needs multiple office visits to attend and you will be surprised if it was done or now. If you are ground floor, water stands in patio, winter electricity bill will be more than 200 (even at 60's), dampness in bathroom due to poor ventilation.Water, Sewer and Trash bill will be atleast 100 bucks extra. I have not pets but i see pet remains around my apartment - Property management takes no care of cleaning them.Lawns are poorly managed leaving dry grass and mushrooms. I feel old management is far better as they pretend to do something. New mgmt is failing to pretend as well. I will move out after my lease.
Expect to pay huge utilities bills each month. The old appliances and cadet wall heaters are not energy efficient. A small stackable washer and dryer are in the units, but you have to do three loads just to wash one set of sheets! The doors and windows are drafty, so expect to be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. (BTW - no air conditioning.) The water, trash and sewer bills are also high. You do not receive a breakdown by apartment unit, just a monthly bill that slightly varies - you are not being charged by usage. There are a lot of new apartments now in the Portland area, where the rent may be higher, but you will save in the long run by less expensive utility bills. I'm so glad I moved and now have reasonable utility costs.
...new owners, horrible customer service. All I have heard is tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow and only one call that they couldn't get to it. I'm sorry, but for the outlandish rents that are charged in the Portland area, the excuse that we can't get people to handle the service issues is just that- a weak excuse. One service person that works three days a week is not going to be able to stay on top of three hundred units. Renter beware!
Moved in a month ago and told staff that the back patio was leaking and flooding. Was informed that they would look at it asap. Went back 3 weeks later and was told they will fix next spring. Other neighbors have nice set ups in the back of their units. We now have a storage unit bill to store everything that should have been outside.
we are living here now for more than a year.It is a nice apartment with access to all the places as it lies in the cornell road. The staff is very good and attends to any complaints as fast as they can .The drawbacks are that the rooms are too small .Sometimes there are mold too.The landscaping could be made much better and it can maintained more neatly. But its peaceful and good to live.
I had been looking for a great place to call home. In Portland that can be hard to do especially when trying not to break the bank. StoneRidge is a great place to live, the apartments are nice, they are pet friendly and the price is reasonable for this part of Portland, also the office staff are amazing! There are only two downsides that I can see the showers are a bit small, and so is the oven. Otherwise this place is great!! I highly recommend living in this community!
I have lived at Stoneridge @ Cornell for almost 2 years now....I have very much enjoyed my time here and so has my female black lab,,,,Stoneridge is quite pet friendly and makes every accommodation for the animals..The staff is very helpful and friendly and really gives the complex a homey environment...My 2 bedroom / 2 bath layout gives me more than enough room and the first floor sliding door gives the old dog easy access to the back patio.... I would recommend Stoneridge to anyone looking for a quiet place to call home in the Cedar Mill area....
I like living at Stoneridge. Things are relatively clean and quiet. I'd like to see more recycling bins on the property. All in all it's ok.
Apartment complex is quiet and yet filled with small families. The move-in was quick and the leasing office was very understanding and eager to help. The kitchen and cabinet space are huge and way more than you will get anywhere for this price with a decent patio, fireplace and scenery. Right next to a gas station, gym, grocery plaza and lots of restaurants and mall plaza. This is the perfect gem to live in.
Overall I've had a really good experience here for the past year. Management has been very helpful, friendly, and responsive. They were helpful when I had to update my lease unexpectedly. The complex is pretty nice, maybe not super new, but definitely spacious. Overall I'd recommend it to friends!
The buildings in Stoneridge Apartments are two stories and eight units, with doors facing the small parking lots, a windowed door to the back porch, and sliding glass doors in the main bedroom opening on the back porch We live in one of the central units, first floor, which turns out to be the worst of all worlds. With no side windows, air circulation is terrible, and there is no good way to install an AC system as there are no windows in the back wall and the front windows are 1) over the sink and 2) in the smaller bedroom. That hasn't been fun this summer. The ceilings are paper thin. We can hear every single thing upstairs - walking, bedroom activities, you name it, the toddler sounds like a small elephant running around. We get disrupted and woken up by our upstairs neighbors all the time. The buildings are old and rundown inside. The screens don't fit, we get ants, our toilet has died twice, we had to have one closet cleaned of a mold infestation apparently driven by the incredibly poor air circulation (now we keep fans running constantly). The stacking washer dryer units are very small. The dishwasher, stove, and refrigerator are more modern and work just fine. The landscaping is nice, in general. However, there are no sidewalks, so walking your dog (and it's very pet friendly, almost everyone has a dog here) means walking down the roads or walking by everybody's windows and porches on the grass, which results in constant dog bark wars every day and night. Lighting is incredibly poor; there are no street lamps and I rely on a headlamp for walking the dogs at night. The staff has always been unfailingly friendly, and responds to maintenance requests fairly promptly. The main office / gym / pool area is very nice and open to resident gatherings. Our rent would increase over $250, from $1100 to almost $1400 if we chose to stay. The rental market is quite out of control in the Portland area, but there are significantly nicer apartments available in the $1300 - 1500 range than the dump we are living in. There is a nice little shopping center adjacent, and we'll miss easy access to the lovely little Oak Hills Brewpub. That will be the only thing we will miss. At these prices, I cannot recommend to anybody. If you are renting here, I strongly recommend that you hold out for one of the four end units in a building and avoid the middle units like cancer. Don't just go off the model unit. You've been warned.
