Everyone was so friendly! The people I talked to were informative and really took their time with all my questions. I brought both of my moms and they were very accepting each time.

So far so good! I've only lived here for a month but I like it! The only problem I've run into is that the elevator sometimes gets stuck on the fourth floor and I live on the fifth so the climb can be a lot after work.

Older apartments need a bit more patience but everyone has been super friendly and the apartments are very cute. Pretty thick walls can't hear upstairs or downstairs neighbors, can only hear them when they walk by the front door. Our front door isn't properly placed so there's a crack that shows through. Almost all of our windows either don't have screens or don't lock. Which is okay because we're higher up. Overall good price compared to some other apartments.

Great place. Old but historical. I wish some things were a little bit more updated, but it has a lot of charm. Also needs to have the common areas a bit more taken care of and updated.
Property Manager at ReNew on Temple, Responded To This Review
Caitlin, we are encouraged to know you are generally content with your experience in our charming community! We acknowledge your comments about our common areas and assure you we intend to investigate your concerns promptly. If you wish to discuss your thoughts about neighborhood updates further, we invite you to contact us directly!
Please don't rent here, ever. We are constantly reminded building's age and poor state of care near daily. The rent is appallingly high for what you get. Utilities are way higher than I've paid anywhere else in Salt Lake. The "renovations" were a disaster, especially with the paint. Due to such a sloppy job, most doors and cabinets are unable to fully open/close. Other appliances are damaged / in poor condition and maintenance seems unable to fix them. From heating not working, water constantly shutting off, to water leaking from the walls and flooding our bathroom, the fixes provided are patchwork at best, often failing within a month. Management does not exist and, to be fair, there's not much they can do. This building is old, deteriorating, and nobody seems to care enough to implement some real fixes. Trust me, you CAN find other places at this price point (or better) which provide a MUCH better experience.

So far love it as a newbie resident! Everyone has been super helpful with getting me set up and the communication has been great. Very quaint and cute apartment complex, obviously older, so there’s a few quirks and things that are not necessarily the prettiest to look at, but the charm is definitely here!

The location of my apartment is so amazing, and I love how we have grills and a fire pit. However, the apartment is a bit old and our kitchen and bathroom are a bit gross because of it. This apartment was perfect for us now, and I would recommend an updated unit, but I will be finishing my lease soon.

My partner and I have loved living here. It is perfect for us right now and we LOVE the Murphy bed. It is a little old, but we have gotten used to having no dishwasher haha.

Megan, we are grateful for your kind words about your home! Please feel free to let us know if there is anything we may do to improve your residency further.
A great and safe place to live, but I have some major complaints. One, building is very old and things break down often, whether that be the deadbolts on all doors wiggling loose, or all of the rolling closet doors falling off their tracks constantly. Maintenance is patient and very thorough however. Two, all gas bills are compiled and separated based on an algorithm that the gas company has based on occupants and apartment size, but it also meant that we had consistent $200 gas bills this winter, which was a killer. Management was super patient with us, but it was a nightmare to get such a high utility bill. Overall, I think its a good place to live but has some downsides to be aware of.
Property Manager at ReNew on Temple, Responded To This Review

We haven’t been living here for long, but so far it’s been great. We love our apartment and the people around us are polite and quiet. We haven’t really met a lot of people from the apartment complex, but those we have met were friendly. It would be nice to get to know others in the community, maybe organise community events or something?

Property Manager at ReNew on Temple, Responded To This Review
We are thankful for your kind recommendation! It is exciting to hear that our friendly and knowledgeable team has earned us your high rating.
Covey is a perfect size for myself and my pup! Its minimal but effective. Great size restroom and decent size kitchen for one person.
The Covey is a safe, comfortable place to live with wood floors, an elevator, spacious bathroom and living area and a nice kitchen. The office staff and maintenance staff and cleaning staff are all kind, friendly and approachable. Maintenance requests are handled in a timely and diligent manner. The security is good and we feel safe here. Comparatively, speaking the rental rate and other costs such as gas heat and electric are better than at other apartments in the area. And the Covey offers gret specials for first time residents at certain times of the year.
Neighbor taking care of neighbor is what this apartment complex is about. Communication is always professional and courteously delivered, respectfully.
I came and toured the location, submitted an application checked in after 3 days and was told they were having issues and I needed to wait longer for their system to process my application, I waited through the weekend and didn’t hear anything so I touched bases today and was told my application had been canceled because I didn’t respond in time. Horrible service.
I have been here two months and already I've been plagued by mice, spiders, and flies! Spiderwebs were covering the apartment as soon as we moved in. I've lost track of how many flies I've killed. I've caught and killed two mice so far. This is unsurprising because the windows have visible gaps above them which are completely uncovered by glass or screen (which also means the apartment is freezing even with the thermostat going)! I can hear people walking above me all the time. The floorboards creak incredibly when I walk so I assume I'm similarly loud to my downstairs neighbors. The apartment and hallway frequently smells of cigarette smoke despite being "non-smoking." The toilet won't stop flushing, which has been true since I first moved in. When I filed a maintenance request about this they gave no notice of when they would be arriving, which means I had to last minute reschedule my workday so that I could be out of the house to avoid covid risk. They did not actually fix the toilet. The management shut off my water with no warning. This didn't get fixed until I emailed them. They switched to new washing machines that needed new payment cards, also with no warning. When I emailed to ask about it they didn't have any of the new payment cards available due to "technical issues." I went without clean clothes for a week before they managed to get me a card. Again, these are the inconveniences I have encountered in only two months here.
Covey has a fairytale quality to it. The only things lacking are winged angelic beings, flitting to and fro, and, sadly, there are no gold toilet seats.
When walking along South Temple in front of the Covey, I feel as if I am walking along one of Napoleon's boulevards in Paris over two hundred years ago. The Covey has European dynamism with stylish traits that in strange ways makes one feel as if he or she is living during a different era and at a much older time. The taste of history is tantalizing here! It is romantic and ignites the imagination. It is a beautiful place to live.
When requested online portal maintenance concern; staff, along with management has always been courteous, respectful and professional In their response to the situation that arose.
I have adored my home at The Covey prior to COVID. The latest management team and assistance has turned my lovely, charming home into a something sad and embarrassing. The Salt Lake community is embarrassed by the state of disrepair and unprofessional-ism associated with the management of The Covey. Wait for a new, more professional management.
1. Unit had bed bugs the first day there. Was blamed by management who said there had been no history of units with bed bugs Ever. This is a lie. I have heard multiple people say their units were infested. We had to live out of plastic bags for a month. 2. We got the wrong unit. I called numerous times during the application process to ask that we were getting a unit that looked just like the model since the application said the wrong unit number. Kevin said yes. This too was a lie. Our unit is completely different with different room sizes, smaller kitchen, no arched ceilings, no mud room, and carpet. 3. Rent was $200 more than promised for the first month. When we brought this up, Kevin said discounts only apply to Some units. 4. You have to pay an extra $10 a month just to pay your rent online, because this place has a history of losing paper checks and trying to evict people over it. 5. Spent two weeks without hot water. 6. Unit was filthy when we moved in. Our feet were black after a few minutes of walking around. Marisela lied again and said it had been "professionally cleaned" before we moved in. By who? Dogs with muddy feet? 7. There is extremely limited parking. You have to park in the street and move your car every two hours. 8. The valet trash service that we pay $25 a month for picks up trash when they feel like it, I guess. It has piled up outside our unit on more than on occasion. 9. Roaches in the backyard. When we returned after our bed bug treatment, there were some in our room and kitchen. Because of course. 10. Management routinely clocks out earlier than their hours state. They are impossible to reach by phone. A tenant reported catching one on his phone while the office phone rang on and on. 11. We still haven't been given a laundry key. We've lived here almost two months. 12. They painted over literally everything in the unit. Sinks, bathtub, even locks. 13. The electric sockets are all two-pronged. There is only one three-pronged one in the entire unit, by the kitchen for some unknown reason. We had to buy multiple extension cords just to be able to charge our phones and computers. 14. We were told during our tour of the model unit that electric was included. Every site listing this place said the same thing. Nope! No utilities are included here, so don't be fooled by thinking the rent is cheap here. It isn't.

Excellent! Aubrey, one of the Leasing Managers, treated me so kindly and with a high standard of service from the time I inquired about openings to move-in. She was patient in answering my questions and was prompt in providing me with the e-forms/leasing agreement once I made a decision. It was such a smooth process. My apartment was clean and the best space I could imagine. This is the first time a leasing manager not only handed me a welcome gift, but also gave me another tour on the spot to make sure I knew where to go for everything. Beyond the professionalism and genuine service, the Covey is both archaic and lovely. Glad I chose this spot with access to anything I would need in the heart of downtown.

Hi there, we are very happy to have provided you with such a positive experience! Thanks again for taking the time to leave us this information about your recent visit. We'll see you soon!
Just had a bad experience with management: My single mother friend is moving in and was promised the wrong apartment. She committed fully to it, ending her current lease and arranging the new school situation with her son, buying AC units, etc. to the point where she can't go back on the decision, and then when she showed up to get her keys she learned that she would be getting a different, worse apartment. We figured this was an honest mistake on management's part, so we went and talked to them to see if they could at least offer any compensation, considering that she can't back out of the decision now. Nope. No compensation of any kind. They wouldn't even offer to wave the small fee for transferring apartments later on when the right one does open up. Great introduction to the place, right?
