Downtown Huntsville encompasses the triangle formed by Interstate 45, State Route 19, and U.S. Highway 190 in the center of Huntsville. It’s here that you’ll find the bulk of the city’s culinary and retail offerings, as well as a diverse mix of rentals including charming and low-lying apartment complexes and single-family homes. Downtown Huntsville is also where you’ll find the Sam Houston Memorial Museum, located on the site of the Houston’s 15-acre homestead and home to several historic buildings. Highway 190 houses a number of taquerias, boutiques, and more. Seeing as Huntsville and the downtown area itself border the Sam Houston National Forest, this is a perfect spot for outdoor lovers looking for a rental near the convenience of the city.

Property Ratings at Republic at Sam Houston
They do not take care of stuff even though they said they did. They charge for items when you move out BIG TIME DON'T RENT from them

Hello, We apologize that you have not had a great experience with Republic at Sam Houston. Since you did not provide a name, we are unable to address your specific concerns. Please contact our office so we may discuss your concerns. Best, Republic at Sam Houston
I've lived here for years, and they truly don't care about the residents. The first apartment I had here had an oven that cooked far too hot (I'm talking cut the time you need to cook something in half, subtract a hundred degrees, and it still burns). Despite multiple requests, it was never fixed. The second apartment I was in had a huge ant problem. We couldn't leave even sealed bags out because ants would swarm them. They even swarmed my glass of water I kept on the bedstand. We've sent in eight service requests in the last two months, but nothing productive is ever done. They've closed requests with no actions taken. You will NOT feel at home, you will NOT feel welcome. Avoid at all costs.
These are the absolute worse apartments in Huntsville if you haven't signed your life away for a year don't! Run as fast as you can to Encore heck even Forum, save yourself the stress of living in an unkept filthy apartment complex. So many things went wrong while I was there that I don't even know where to start.Special shout out to Kyle for acting concerned and never taking care of anything . 1) There were large animal feces all over the apartment stairs and hallways for weeks (now you can imagine how disgusting the walks to my apartment were not to mention there was always food everywhere as well!) 2)They claim to provide all these services for students in their common area for example: computers and printers available for students 24/7 that however, was not the case they spent over half of the year renovating after they had specified in emails it would only take about a month or so. They also claimed to have a 24-hour gym, which yes they do however, they forget to mention the part about their machines being broken down and never repaired. The machines were NEVER repaired so they basically just have a room with a mirror, broken machines, and medicine balls. So don't count on their "gym" (So much for renovating) 3) They claim they match you with people of similar interest as you which maybe is true and they just stick all the people they couldn't match in building 9! I had the worst roommates, and now I know random roommates can be a hit or miss, however when things escalate such as falsifying my signature and the apartment complex does nothing after you notify them that is what gives them a negative review. I had an incident occur with my roommates, now before you move into an apartment you fill out a questionnaire and you check off yes or no if you are ok with living with pets and if you are a smoker. Both of which I checked off with NO because, I'm allergic to both cats and dogs, and 2nd because I don't smoke. Now this is something the republic did not understand because they placed me with people who were both ok with living with pets and smokers. When I first arrived at the apartment it was fine no one had any pets, however, after a month 2 of my roommates decided to move in a small dog and what appears to be a great dane, a freaking great dane! Those dogs are the size of a cow
I think these apartments are overpriced for the size. I lived here my last semester in college on a six month lease. Initially they agreed to let me do a lease takeover for the last semester, and called after the lease was signed saying that I would have to pay MORE for a short lease which didn't make sense because I was taking over someone else's lease. They finally agreed to let me keep it at the price I signed for and THEN called back and said I didn't pay the application fee. On my lease the fee said WAIVED. They finally accepted fault and my time there was easy. I was charged extra for what? I don't remember But they worked with me to pay it off once I moved back home from school.
Terrible apartments, small kitchen, small cabinet room if you're four bedroom. Small living room space, management sucks here will charge you for everything. Will charge you for cleaning even if you cleaned that apartment Suggest taking pics on move in day so they won't over charge you once you move out. Don't let the new management fool you, these student apartments still suck. Everytime i would go outside i could smell dog feces, I wouldn't recommend this place to no one. I got stuck in these apartments due to not knowing and wish i would have before wasting my money on monthly rent. The rent might be cheap but it isn't worth it !!!!!!!!!!
I think it is an overpriced complex but I didn't have much of a choice. The kitchen is so small. I don't have any room to put up groceries. My bedroom is a good size but my closet is small and awkward. The bathroom is terrible. The shower is so small I can barely move. The shower head is so far up I can't reach it. And it's so outdated. I thought you new management would make some changes to update these apartments but I was wrong.
I love living her for a college apartment! I have been here for almost two years and I would reccommend it to anyone! I had a great move-in experience as well as two renewal experiences. The staff in the office is always nice and welcoming. They do activities in the clubhouse all the time for residents. The maintenance staff is also great, they have always came and fixed anything within two days and the office always follows up to make sure it was fixed. I have decent neighbors and have never had any trouble from anyone. Overall a great experience living here.
