South Carolina's world-famous vacation destination isn't just for tourists! It's also a great place to live. The 60 miles of white-sand beaches are just the beginning to what Myrtle Beach offers, and as a resident you'll be able to enjoy the sun and surf any time. But you'll also enjoy shopping at Coastal Grand Mall, playing golf at Pine Lakes Country Club, River Oaks Golf Plantation, and Whispering Pines. Myrtle Beach International Airport is a convenient way for residents to travel, and Myrtle Beach State Park provides a glimpse into South Carolina's natural past -- the boardwalk and fishing pier are great, too. The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk and Promenade is home to the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, Plyer Park, and dozens of shops, restaurants, and bars.
Living in a resort town means you'll enjoy fantastic destinations like Family Kingdom Amusement Park, Ripley's Believe It or Not! Myrtle Beach, the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, and Myrtle Beach Zipline Adventures.

Property Ratings at Reserve at Ridgewood Plantation
Great place to live! Close to all shopping and 20 min from the beach!
I’ve had a very pleasant experience being here at Reserve. Lisa and Suzanne are always very helpful. The grounds are kept clean and maintenace are always around immediately if needed. I would recommend!

We are thrilled to hear that you appreciate our management efforts and the amenities we provide. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a positive review!
This place is disgusting. Poorly managed and community is not well kept. Drug being used and sold in the parking lot, dogs left unattended at the dog park, beer cans and garbage ALL over the place, broken glass, people without a lease living in empty apartments, disgusting graffiti on the children's playground, packages being stole right in front of your door, cops here constantly, and the list can go on. The positive reviews are from people that were paid to give positive reviews. DO your research. Unfortunately I can not post all the pictures I have on this site.

Un maravilloso lugar para vivir, vecindario muy tranquilo y con mucha zona verde para salir a dar un paseo, me gusta mucho vivir aquí
The office staff is amazing, super nice and helpful. If something breaks it's fixed right away. Property is always kept clean. Plus they do bug control every month.

Hi! We are so happy to here this! Thank you for the great review!
This is such a great place to live the staff are amazing and treat you like family.
I love it here I moved from pa and the staff made it so easy to fit in the area is lovely and the neighborhood is amazing super pet friendly 10 out of 10 from me
Living in an apartment has been an adjustment; however, The Reserve staff have played a pivotal role in making my experience so great. The grounds are always clean, quiet and peaceful. I would definitely recommend renting here.
The office and staff are one of the best things here, wonderful apartments, fast services, neat local events, and very clean!
I live here for over 7 years, good price and amenities
Amazing staff, always helpful they take pride in where we live and are always cleaning, the pool and fitness room are a huge bonus to living here.
The area is spacious and nice and the lawns are well kept. They also will always be quick to fix any problems you might have! Would definitely recommend!
Of all the places that I lived Reserve is by far the best. Great locations to travel to schools, shopping and a lot of places to eat. Clean, Peace and quiet! I would highly recommend this place to anyone.
Living at Reserve is very peaceful and safe place to live. There’s a park for kids and a doggie park as well for fur friends. The community is amazing, a nice bbq area, swimming pool, washing machines and dryers, the ponds are a very peaceful place to sit and relax at and the clubhouse staff is friendly and helpful
My family and myself moved in here approximately 3 years ago. And some of our decisions to move in here where the dog park was a huge Plus, the year around swimming pool, there's a weight room which is great, and if you do not have a washer or dryer in your unit there is a washer and dryer on site that does take cash and credit cards. The grounds are up kept weekly. And as I stated before we do have two small dogs, so around each apartment building or every other apartment building there is a dog spot. And the dog spot contains of a garbage can and doggie poop bags. And the dog park that is here as well is another Plus for our little friends it does keep them happy. All of the apartments are great in size whether you have a two bedroom or three bedroom. And last but not least the staff whether it be the girls in the office, or the groundsman that we have. Are all extremely attentive. Whether it's a question or a problem they always find a solution or they will give you an answer.Ridgewood Plantation is a wonderful comforting place to live.
Been here about 4 years and while the leasing has changed hands the grounds and maintenance dept have been busting their bumps to keep this place in order. The community is quiet for the most part and that is also great. All on all decent place to live and also within reason to all stores and restaurants.

I love the new management team. I have been living in my apt for over 5 years. Ana Mellone
I love my apartments, I am a single mother, and I know my son is safe, while we play at the playground. My three bedroom apartment is modern and updated appliances, clean and spacious, with two full baths. The leasing office staff is so gracious and treat us all like family. I would recommend these apartments to my own friends and family.
I have lived here for 4 years and I will say this is the " best place I have ever lived". Staff is courteous and helpful in every way. Grounds are kept extremely well. Distance to the beach is a plus and accessibility to everything Myrtle Beach has to offer makes this a must if you are looking to live right.
I moved here couple months ago I love it here the staff is great and communication is also great and they get the job done if you have any issues
I've lived here for almost 4 years. Overall it's a great place to live, conveniently located for shopping and beach. Great school system. My kids are currently in elementary, takes us less than 10 minutes to get to the school. I've had a few issues with neighbors that the front desk has been helpful with. New management company took over in July and so far they've been great and very involved in community activities.
Enjoy the location, very centeeed, plus school is next door, very convenient. Management keep place updated, clean and upgraded. At office , customer service ladies are awesome, they follow and handle requests as soon as possible. Love this place. Also is peaceful and clean! -P-
We’ve lived in the Reserve at Ridgewood apartments since the fall of 2020 and have had very positive experience here. I feel very safe in this community and have been glad to see the number of improvements they have completed since we first moved in. Maintenance is and always has been quick to respond to and resolve any problems that have arisen in our unit. Whenever we have family visit they always compliment our apartment complex and our unit.
Nice area maintenance staff is friendly, I like to be left alone and they do that, close to my kids’ schools.
I haven't been here long but the employees are very kind and do a great job or caring for the property.
Great location to schools and stores FRIENDLY staff and matisnce..property keep clean quiet neighborhood
I just moved in mid January and when I tell you that I absolutely love my home! I live on the bottom floor. I don’t hear much noise from my upstairs neighbors at all. They have a full playground for my kids to run off all their energy. They just repaved the parking lot which makes my car happy! The staff at the leasing office have been great and attentive to my needs. I’m glad that I toured this complex and got to know the property manager prior to moving in and I read the reviews that helped me ask questions and make an informed decision. If you have children or just getting started in life, this complex is the place for you!
The property itself is fine. It's relatively quiet and while not upkept to the degree you'd expect for the price its not the worst. The problem lies with the leasing office. You *MUST* communicate with them only through writing. They will tell you anything they want verbally and as soon as you walk out the door they will do something else. This is not limited to the entire staff they let go just a few months ago. Be prepared to act like you're a legal battle as they have zero customer service skills and are only after your wallet. Writing only and you're fine.
I have lived here since January 2017 and am happy to call this my home. From the staff in the office to the maintenance personnel, everyone is friendly and willing to make your everyday life enjoyable. I have used the bark park, their gym and their beautiful pool- again a wonderful place to call home!
My family moved here in November of 2015. We are satisfied with the apartment complex. My mother needed to have a handicapped toilet and grab bars installed in the bathroom and they had most of it done before we moved in. The maintenance guys stay busy and we have not had a problem with them fixing our minor issues. The grounds could be cleaner, but that's a people problem. People in rental situations can be messy. I understand why some people may feel disappointed as the apartments could use updating but overall they are just as I expected them to be...a very large apartment complex that has people of all sorts of values and economic situations moving in and moving out. I was at first happy to find a brand new carpet installed before we moved in, but with only a few months in see that that it's really cheap and already looks as if we have lived here for a lot longer as it wears out quickly in high traffic areas - nothing some area rugs and runners can't fix. As for the fleas...we have had them. We have two dogs and they didn't have fleas before we moved down. However, with the amount of dogs in these apartments the fleas are inevitably out in the yard. When you take your dog out you bring fleas in. So now we wash our dogs every three days and use Advantix II which can be bought by the dose if you can't afford a pack of four at the local pet store in the Kroger shopping center for $15 a pop. It took a month of being consistent but we have the flea issue under control. Life is what you make of it and so is your home. If you choose to focus on only the negative then you will never see or appreciate the positive. The ladies in the office are very nice and extremely helpful. Overall the apartment complex is quiet, our apartment is spacious, and people seem to mind their own business. The kids who live here have so far been really polite and as quiet as kids can be. The dog owners have all been responsible and keep their dogs on leashes even if not all of them pick up after their dogs. The only thing that I am truly disappointed in is the size of the swimming pool. It's way smaller than the picture indicates, however, I'm at the beach so who CARES!!!! This place is in no way a bad place. It's convenient and reasonable. It's good enough. My tip for living here would be to focus on the positive, be flea proactive, and don't walk in the grass or sidewalk at night unless you have a flashlight or you will step in doggy doo.
We lived in this apartment for a short term lease. For the most part everything was ok. The carpet was worn, spotted, and old and some of the cabinets and other floors were in worn condition when we moved in but, because it was a short term rental, we dealt with it. Unfortunately, after we moved out they charged us for new carpet because of pet stains. Granted, we have a dog. But our dog has never had an accident in the house. We have not seen or smelled pet urine in our home since we adopted her seven years ago except in one instance when she was ill before moving here. Furthermore, she is always in her kennel when we leave the home. We have ALWAYS gotten our deposits back from previous rentals and even been complimented on how clean we left the apartments. I am quite disappointed at this charge. They said they pull back the carpet after each renter because they do not want a new tenant to move in over pet urine. I think that is great, but the carpet there when we moved in was gross and we have no way to prove the pet stains they see now were caused by our pet or that they were not there before. Frankly, I would have expected them to put new carpet into the apartment judging by its condition when we moved in, I just did not expect to be the ones paying for it because, like I said, our dog did not have an accident in the house.
We just moved here around Christmas time. We loved the model so much but they did not have any availabilities for 1 1/2 months so we went and found temporary housing in order to live here. When we got there, we had to sign the contract first before seeing the unit (big mistake). We were EXTREMELY disappointed! Everything was falling apart, it was a dump and to make everything worse- we inherited FLEAS from the previous owners. We do not even own a pet and the management said it HAD to be us who brought them in. I had no idea what a flea even looked like- i thought they were just strange looking gnats that were awful at flying for the first week. We have not even fully moved in yet (after over a month) because we are still dealing with our flea issue. We deep clean our apartment every single day- have bombed it 4 times, sprayed 4 times, etc and they are still not gone. The apartment complex has been so nasty and unhelpful about it all. We have spent so much money trying to fix it and on top of it, my fiance has suffered serious health issues because of all the chemicals we've had to pump into this apartment. We have tried contacting the manager's supervisor and even THEY say we have to continue paying normal rent and we are not allowed to break the lease. My fiance and i are both very quiet, healthcare professionals who are appalled at this apartment complex and the management. We would NEVER live here again given the choice. We have lived in apartments before and never had any issues but living here was the worst decision we have ever made considering we even liked it so much from the tour. Beyond disappointed.
This apartment is family friendly and also great for college students it isnt so far from campus but also far enough you have privacy. It doesnt include much so the extra expenses do add up. I love how nice everyone who works here are and I wouldn't chose anywhere else!
While it may look pretty on the outside, this apartment complex is not what it seems. When we first moved in we noticed stained and frayed carpets, the bathroom counters had spots that looked at if they'd been bleached and on the very first day the toilet in the second bathroom broke. The neighbors were easily the worst part of living here and it didn't help that the walls are paper thin. On more than one occasion they woke us up in the middle of the night knocking on our door for no good reason. We even had to call the cops once for what sounded like child abuse. There are cars that drive by at night blaring music and people standing right outside your window screaming and fighting each other. Those people have no courtesy for anyone around them. With the complex being located right behind the local high school you can hear everything that comes over the loud speaker. But it is convenient if you have kids enrolled there. A few positive aspects of the complex is the gym, the laundry room and the pool. Although, the gates to the pool would be locked in the middle of the day for no good reason. The pool has set hours and I would hope that they would adhere to them, but no. This place looked nice at first glance but after living there for a short you see what it really like.
When I sold my house in CT, I knew I wanted to move to Myrtle Beach. I went on line to Apartments.com, I found many beautiful apartments here, but, The Reserve at Ridgewood Plantation was by far the best of the lot! The location is great. It is set in the wooded area of Carolina Forest. It is quiet, yet only a short drive to the beach, shopping and any restaurant you desire. As for the apartment itself, the grounds are kept in pristine condition. There is a pool, a gym and a picnic area. The office staff and the maintenance staff are top notch, always willing to help with any situation. Thank You Apartments.com
This building is great for families as well as college students who prefer a quieter atmosphere than apartments specifically geared towards college students. The apartments are in a great location being only 5 minutes from many great food and grocery store options. They are also a short drive away from the local college/university as well as the beach. If the apartments were more up to date appliance and fixtures wise I would rate it excellent. They are, however, very clean and functional none the less.
Dog park and playground in the complex as well as a community pool, gym, and club house. There are also several grills located next to the club house for barbecues or outdoor gatherings. Pond sits in middle of the property with Gazebo to overlook. Easy on eyes. Unfortunately there was a change in management last year. The original management was very easy going, they were here for the people, liked by everyone in the community. Now I've seen more tenants leave simply because they do not like the management. They are no longer flexible, very "by the book," and seem to be here more to make money than provide for the community. Rent has increased and cost for certain services have increased, while the quality of service has diminished.. My rent rose from $850 in 2012 to $990 in 2015. Not a bad rate, but with increase in rent, dog fees, trash, etc.. I would like to see an increase in the living quality or services. For example, I once went 2 months without AC.. staff came up repeatedly to fix the problem but it wasn't until 2 months of 80 degree indoor temperature that the problem was resolved. And while the AC was broken, we were still charged the high rate of blasting cool air although no cool air was provided. We were not reimbursed for this which I would have considered fair. Another service that needs improvement is repairs.. My screen door came off the hinges and broke roughly a year ago. I have still not been given a replacement simply because they "do not have them in stock." Lastly would be the bug problem. 8 months out of the year I would say we are bug free. But come change of the seasons, Palmetto bugs seem to find their way in routinely. Even after the scheduled pest control visits. It is never anything severe, maybe 3 or 4 bugs a week. Just annoying when you're told "they should be gone now" and they continually pop up. With that being said, I'm 25 years old, and my needs have been met. If you're college aged and need a place to stay than you'll be happy here. It is located roughly 3 miles from Coastal Carolina University and only 15 minutes from Broadway at the Beach, as well as the beach itself. Those who seem to strongly dislike the area are those coming with families looking for more than just a building to house them. The connection I used to feel between management and tenants is non-existent now. So depending on your needs, this could or could not be the place for you. Apartment Rating: B Staff: D Overall: C
This is my little piece of and peace in paradise. The apartments are only three stories so that the surrounding wooded areas are visible, allowing birds to hang out in my neighborhood. Each unit is either 2 or 3 bedrooms with accompanying full bathrooms and spacious open floor plan. I love to sit out on my balcony as the sun sets and enjoy the fresh breezes from the ocean, just 8 miles away from Myrtle Beach, and watch the changes in the sky as dusk settles into evening and stars come out. The grounds are well kept with blooming trees, shrubs, and flowers that appeal to the senses. Additionally there is a dog park for my dog to meet and greet others. Not to mention a pool area, a barbeque and picnic area with tables, chairs, umbrellas, and charcoal grilling pits. The club house has laundry and workout facilities, as well as a lounge to meet and greet new friends in the neighborhood. The staff is friendly and eager to please. They even send out regular emails to the occupants to see if there is anything needing tending to in your apartment. Good areas for walks, plenty of golf courses, shops, and restaurants as well as the beach. All this accompanied with some of the best weather in the country, and you can see why I call this my little piece of paradise.
Reserve (formerly the Abbey) is a quaint appartment complex with great $/sqft value. My 2 bed 2 bath appartment is very spacious, clean, and pest-controed regularly. The Maintenience staff are quick to respond to emergencies, and the office ladies are always on top of help requests, apartment status updates, and billing questions. You pay water and rent online, and take care of other utilities/cable separately. There is a washer/dryer hook up, but no washer/dryer provided. There is also no microwave, which we didn't notice until move-in. The complex is very quiet, and on a street with 4 other appartment complexes. One of them is heavily populated by college students, and is the cheapest student housing in the area, so that's something to keep in mind when considering this appartment. Overall, we are very happy residents and plan to extend our lease an additional year for 3 years at the reserve.
This neighborhood is great! Deborah and Rashena are so nice and are working with us as we make our transition from Pennsylvania. We have spent time here with friends, so we already have experienced living here and know it is the place to live our retirement years. It is well kept and maintained. We couldn't ask for a nicer place. I've been planning for over a year to live here. Great job office Ladies!!
