Property Ratings at Residence at Deer Park Apartments
Michael, Molly & Miranda were very helpful with my inquiries on a preferred floor plan we have had a lot of interest in. The improvements to the community look fantastic. There is new paint, smart technology on the doors & it is now gated. I have been watching these apartments over the years & I now feel a lot more comfortable with the new ownership. The renovations inside also look great! We are excited to make this place our new home!
The new management REFUSED to let us do a walk through with them when we were moving out. Now they are trying to charge us for multiple things they are ALREADY replacing for remodeling anyway. They also conveniently keep losing files in their system and not taking accountability for anything. So now we will FORCE them to take accountability with a law suit.
I moved here from out of town, it was a rush decision due to them allowing my dogs breed. The young lady that works in the main office is very nice and helped me out. The roaches are a huge problem and have been since I have moved in. Even having pest control coming almost every week and me having tried my hardest to get rid of them, they are still here. Ive had the hot water run out on me with out no notice, I have had no hot water in my kitchen even thought I have put in work orders to get it fixed. We were told when we moved in that nothing was allowed on the patio other than patio furniture. Until recently that wasn't really enforced, and for some reason it was only enforced in only my building. There was a couple that were made to remove their children's bicycles from their patio. I have driven around the entire complex and it seems likes they are fine with all the other buildings having bicycles, work out equipment, canoes, and toys on their patio. I was also told that I was only allowed to have a dish if it was on my patio, but I have seen a few other tenets that weren't enforced to uphold the standard. Ive lost money in the laundry because machines are not working, every time I use the laundry facilities on the complex I always have problems. A lot of the machines do not have hot water in them, or they won't drain and I have to spend extra money to get my clothes dried. To me it's not worth the price, and the fact that they are raising the rent when they can't fix the current issues is ridiculous. The only way I would have stayed was if they made all tenants up hold the standard laid out in the lease agreement, and fix the roach infestation.
Property Manager at Residence at Deer Park Apartments, Responded To This Review
I am sorry to hear about your countless issues here on property. Allow me to explain how the new owners of the property are fixing these problems. Roaches, we had a full clean out done, and have not had many complaints at all. We also had new windows put into all of the buildings. For the water, I do not fully understand why that has happened to you. We address everyone on property before doing such thing. Last, if the laundry facility was such a problem, there is a number on washer & dryers to call for service. The company that is responsible for the washer and dryer will also send a check of the money that was lost. The Wilshire thanks you for the review and we also hope you have a better experience with us in the future. :)
I've lived here three years now-a one bedroom was $580 when I moved in, from there I went to a two bedroom for $700. In the last year my rent has continuously increased, I'm now paying $930 for a two bedroom apartment. The hot water gets turned off with no notice, sometimes the water gets completely shut off (again with no notice). Roaches have been a serious problem, to the point where they had to get pest control to come out and spray EVERY apartment (they're still not gone!). I've had stuff stolen off of my patio (on the second floor). Altogether I would say this place is fine if you just really need a place to live, but I wouldn't jump for joy at the idea of moving here.
I contacted this apartment through Apartments.com but never looked into it any further. The office contacted me via email and we went back and forth about the dog I have and his size. Everything sounded good but I just wasn't sure about the area it was in. So as I looked and looked the last day I was in Texas before I went back to Illinois to pack, I went to visit the Wilshire. Judy, the young lady working in the office showed me the property and educated me on the area and it's schools. Ok, to make a long story short. Me and my 3 boys are living at the Wilshire and everything we need and want is right here near us!!! Dow Park is across the street with work out equipment, swimming, after school care and so much more!!! This IS a blessing for my family and I thank you Apartments.com!!!
The Wilshire at Deer Park is okay for the cost. The positives are that they are affordable, in a great location, look nice, and the maintenance crew is great. The apartments are pet friendly with quite a few dogs, and dog potty stations. The negatives are that the nice appearance is all cosmetic. Below the surface is just the feeling of cheap materials and shoddy construction. Main office doesn't seem to have their act together and often aren't even available. The online payment system is not user friendly but strongly encouraged by the office. Laundry cards must be refilled in the office during opening hours. The water is off for the day on a monthly basis while something is fixed. Noisy neighbors are easily heard from outside. Not the worst place for the price but if you can afford somewhere better look elsewhere.
Property Manager at Residence at Deer Park Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your review. I am glad to hear that you are happy with the maintenance staff. If you are having issues with making payments online, then we would be more than happy to assist you. If you feel that there are any structural issues with your apartment, please notify the office as soon as possible. CoinMach is the owner of the laundry machines and the card dispenser. It is their company policy to always keep their card dispensers in the office, so unfortunately there are not any changes we can make. We have not had the water turned off for an entire day, so if you are having this issue on a monthly basis, please contact the office so we can make sure that it is not your specific apartment. If you are having issues with noisy neighbors, it is very important that you notify the office so that we can address this. Your comfort in your apartment is very important to us. We are here Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm as well as Saturdays from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. You may also email us at thewilshire@trinity-pm.com and we will respond as quickly as possible. We are here to be of service.
My insurance went down upon moving in, which was a pleasant surprise. My apartments are quiet and peaceful, which i hold high in value... as a single working woman, i love going to work confident that my belongings are safe. Did I mention I have more closets than I could have dreamed of for a one bedroom?! :)
