While Farmington is only about eight miles southwest of Downtown Hartford, it feels more like a wooded resort town. The Farmington River meanders through the heart of Farmington, lined with picturesque parks. Narrow roads wind along hills, through the forested countryside and past the roadside stands of local farmers. But Farmington has another side -- a thriving business side, with major companies like Cisco Systems, United Technologies Corporation, Beazley USA, and iTech Solutions located in the city.
Farmington is the oldest settlement west of the Connecticut River. English colonists arrived here in 1640, attracted by the rich soil along the river. The town and river were named in 1645. Main Street features several colonial estates dating back to the 17th century, and George Washington referred to the settlement as the "village of pretty houses.

Property Ratings at Residences at 299
For the price you pay for rent. Why does the garbage truck need to come every single morning including weekends at 3:30 am to 8x dumpsters? It clonks the dumpster and shakes the ground when it bangs it. I have complained many times and it has not changed. I do not get a full nights rest and warn anyone about this issue as you will never get a good nights rest. Also not that this is a huge deal but the employees seam to always say NO to literally everything no matter what the request.
My stay here was from Jan 2015 - Sept 2016. First thing that left an impression with me is how helpful both Bo & Hahn were during my transition. Relocating for work from VA in the middle a snow-mageddon was no easy feat and both were so awesome during this stressful period - sending pictures, layouts and flexibility in showing the unit etc. LUVS -modern apartment /classic -full size W/D -**big** closet -garage is a must in NE -grounds always very well taken care of (ie. snow renewal) This is one of those things you get what you pay for (quality/nice amenities etc).
My wife and I moved in almost exactly 2 years ago and we have loved living here. The apartments are great, the location is both quiet and convenient and we've thoroughly enjoyed the amenities including the pool, the outdoor grills and the fitness center. More importantly, the staff has been so welcoming, attentive and professional from day one. Better yet, the staff has been the same since we first arrived, we almost think of them as friends! They have always been helpful whenever we had questions, needed assistance or required maintenance. We highly recommend the Residences at 299 to anyone looking for a quiet apartment in a beautiful and convenient location Farmington and the best staff you could hope for, you will not be disappointed!
I have had the pleasure of residing at the 299 Residences in Farmington, CT since February of 2015. Initially, I fell in love with the luxurious housing development, that is chock-full of amenities, when I encountered their website online in 2014. A tour of the physical site, with the informative, polite, and accommodating property manager, confirmed my desire to immediately become a resident of this lovely, well-run community. During my tenure as a resident, the inordinate kindness of the property manager and her staff has continued to be quite impressive! Their dedication to being first-rate professionals who find more than satisfactory solutions for the problems of everyday living that arise for the residents has been simply amazing. I am, and have been, very content at the 299 Residences. The property is kept very clean and it is well-maintained. I feel very fortunate to be a member of such a well-built and well-fun housing complex. It is a community of friendly people who get along well with each other. The property manager and her staff throw winter holiday celebrations, summer pool and barbecue parties, ice cream parties and even pick-up some muffins and bagels on your way to work events. The residents are encouraged to socialize and enjoy themselves in a friendly atmosphere. I lived at this property for 2 years and had to move due to a job relocation. I definitely would recommend this property to coworkers and friends. The property is new, beautiful, has all the amenities and it's in a really quiet location. Since I work in Farmington, it was the perfect location for me. I also have to say, the leasing office staff are nice and friendly. I'm not sure why the other review is bad but I got all of my security deposit back. They made my move easy. I wish my new management were as nice or responsive as they were.
My husband and I can not say enough to highly recommend The Residences at 299. The professionalism and courteousness of the staff, the immaculate apartment and grounds, the immediate response to any issues made our stay at 299 very pleasant. The Farmington area is very beautiful and the fact that the Residences offer a pool and gym enhanced our stay. Additionally, the staff often hosted barbecues, holiday and seasonal parties as a way to make the the living experience have a real community feel. If you have the opportunity to stay at 299 you will not be disappointed.
Unprofessional staff/property management team at 299 Residences. My gf and I lived there for quite some time but some unfortunate events transpired with my job, and we had to notify the management team at 299 that we could no longer live their for the full term of our 12month lease. We were compliant the whole way through the 7months and paid in full every month until they found someone. They kept our full deposit of $1000 for minuscule things like, "cleaning of the stove". Completely unprofessional staff and quite frankly rude the whole time we lived there. It was not worth the money. Do not live here!

I am sorry to hear your stay was not pleasant. Unfortunately, when you break your lease, you are responsible for the rent until it is rented. We were able to re-rent the apartment before your lease ended and that allowed you to move out early. We also deducted security deposit for many damages in the apartment, including carpet that needed to be replaced due to bleach stains. These items are expensive. Some properties don't allow you to break your lease. I think we we more than fair with your lease breakage considering the lease was for 1 year. We do wish you luck with your new home.
