As its name implies, Medical Center South is located directly south of the Texas Medical Center, which is home to Houston’s major healthcare facilities and medical schools. The neighborhood is also locally known as the Astrodome since the Houston Astrodome dominated the neighborhood. NRG Arena, NRG Stadium, and NRG Center are also located in the neighborhood so living here will give you easy access to rodeos, football games, concerts, and more. Although the area was initially created for the Astrodome, it has since changed drastically. Along with medical facilities, Medical Center South is laden with restaurants, stores, and an abundance of housing options. Rental options include large single-family houses, luxury condos, and modern apartments and townhomes. Attracting even more renters, Medical Center South is also convenient to Downtown Houston, Midtown, and Hermann Park.

Property Ratings at Residences at the MED
I've lived here for 3 years. Please do not more here. They do not fix anything ever. I have had cardboard on my roof for over a year because they do not repair. Currently my a/c is not working and is leaking like it does every summer of course. It is not cooling. My apartment smells like mold because of the water that leaks. The water is always off because of repairs that never seem to get resolved . The property smells of sewage. We were without power for a week and a half in the summer because the property is old and they had to build a new transformer. Please save yourself and do not move here. I could honestly go on. Please read this review and do not move here. Every time I see people in the leasing office I want to tell them it is a mistake to lease here! Not to mention ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES. I've had friends that have also complained of mice.
I am currently a resident of 2111 Holly Hall, and I can say that this is the worst place I have ever lived. I have been living without power for the past 8 days, which is not due to any storm or weather-related outage but because of maintenance work in the block. The worst part is that the management team does not communicate with the residents at all. The least they could do is inform us when they expect the power to be restored. Currently, I am living in a location far from Holly Hall, but I need to constantly check if the power is back on. This is so frustrating. The only email the management team sends is when the rent is due, which makes me think that is all they care about. In addition to this, the maintenance services at this property are poor, and sometimes you have to wait for up to two weeks to get a repair done. On a positive note, the property does have a large flat green turf area right beside the office where you can sit and reflect on why you choose this place.
We have been living at 2111 Holly Hall for over a year and have battled roaches, bedbugs, and delayed maintenance work for dishwashers, ac, and other things. The pictures looked great on the site so I thought this was going to be a great place to stay, honestly one of my biggest mistakes.
I been living here for six months and these apartments are bad the management change every two weeks the maintenance don’t fix anything it has a lot of shooting loud music it’s just no good place to stay
I have lived at Holly Hall for almost a year and a half and to tell you the truth it's not worth it there's bed bugs cockroaches nice and half of the time the maintenance people go into people's units take their stuff and the office doesn't do anything about it and majority of the time the office people aren't even in the office or they give you three different prices for your rent it seems like they really don't care about us as their customers and as their renters
Great property, Judy is always helpful when I go into the office. Grounds are clean and staff is great.
This is third time that my hot water heater was not working, every incident has taken as least 5 days to fix. I work 2 jobs and can't afford to not have hot water to bathe. This time it has taken 2 weeks to correct the issue and I have had to move to my parents house temporarily. The staff act as though they don't care at all. They very rude and they are constantly putting the blame on someone else. Don't move here unless you know how to fix your maintenance issues. My apt also flooded earlier in the year. It's ridiculous the problems that exists at this complex.
Normally I would not go out of my way to bash anyone or any place, even now that is not my intention. But I do aim to be transparent and upfront about my experience. We have HUGE safety concerns here. We were alarmed when moving in as we moved across country and could not tour before hand - Car alarms going off all the time, this community is supposed to be gated but the gates are wide open 80% of the time and there is no one monitoring who comes and goes through the gates. The gas station and business area across the street is also a no go, stay far away! A few nights ago arguing and a shooting occurred directly outside of our bedroom, resulting in a bullet being shot through my car as well. The cops showed up and the "security" had no clue anything had just happened despite 20 minutes of yelling and three gun shots in the parking lot...The leasing office had NO IDEA this incident even happened today when they finally opened the office so I could go speak with them (3 days later) because apparently tenant safety isn't a concern, especially over the holiday weekend. We have inquired about getting out of the lease as it is not safe here (had to go to the office 3 separate times because they couldn't afford me 10 minutes to speak my peace and nicely ask to be let out as I am now terrified in my own home), they aren't keeping tabs on the safety of their residents, and they clearly have done nothing to remove the resident that was shooting in the parking lot considering they had no idea anything even happened (extremely concerning). Further, they did not address this occurrence to the community or do anything to amend the situation and help guarantee a safer complex. And when expressing our true concerns and that we just want to go somewhere new so we can feel safe and not have our property destroyed, the property manager suggested that crime happens everywhere...as if they could not care any less about the safety of any of the tenants that live here. My car was parked just outside our apartment...that bullet could have gone through our bedroom window rather than my car...peoples lives and well-being matter, safety matters.
Live here one month and they haven’t fixed any of our requests.

I lived here and had a very horrible experience. The management is the worst. They do not care about their residents but money. Also, I had faced problems with packages going missing, roach problems, ant problems, rat problems, water leakage, no water etc. I would not recommend anyone moving here, not even my enemy.

Please accept our apologies for your frustrations. We never like to hear that a resident departed our community with unpleasant feelings about our customer service. We would be more than happy to discuss your experience with us, if you're willing. Please reach out to the office at pm@2111hollyhall.com or 713-799-2111.
I lived here for almost 2 years and the experience was awful. The apartment was really old, dirty, and had an awful stench. My car was broken into twice and staff did nothing to address the problem. The gym was inaccessible because people kept on stealing the weights from the gym. So their solution was to just close the gym. If you decide to stay here, even if they give you months of free rent, you will regret it. Look for other apartments in the area that are better and offer better security.

Thank you for your feedback, Thinh. We’re sorry to hear that you didn’t have a great experience with us. We take feedback from our residents seriously, and would love an opportunity to address your concerns. Please contact our office if you would like to discuss this further.
I have been living here for 1.5 years, and will definitely move out as soon as the contract ends. I have to say the office sucks. They are slow for maintenance, lack of responses for email, phone call and messages. The only thing they are punctual is the rental fee collection. The house is older than my father without proper maintenance. Also, the maintenance worker is irresponsible. When the circuit breaker of our AC was tripped, the only thing they did is punched the breaker until it stayed on the "right" position. It's quite surprising. The pictures below are the proofs that our AC was broken, and the office was not able be reached, so we had to put a sign in their front door. Even though, they didn't call me back.

The management is too slow to work on any problems. Half of my house has no power for 2 days now , which is clearly electrical appliances fault. They havent sent anybody despite letting them know straightaway.
The third year in a row I've tried to potentially move here but never mad it as far as viewing a place. Was told yesterday to come Back today and still no luck. Not sure what the issue is but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Welp time to sign another lease somewhere else in the area.
The behave of the authority is the worse ever. Lot of robbery and break ins.
This place is TRASH!!!! Run away from this place!!!! Management is terrible!!! They lie, they dont do anything they say they are going to do!!! You pay 6 dollars a month for pest control call every week to have your apartment sprayed they will never show up. The trash on the property is ridiculous. The city shut the pool down due to it not being up to code the entire summer. Then when the pool did reopen it was totally disgusting and filthy!!!! If you wanted treated with respect and want management that actually does their Job and actually cares about their tenants then this is the last place that you should be looking to move because you will get none of that here!!!
They don’t give you notifications if you payment got declined. They will just sit there and wait you to find out your payment didn’t went through. For 9days, I have to pay $300 extra for the late and returned payment. They will tell you the manager have no authorization to do anything about it!! They just wanna your money whenever they get a chance! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!
I have been here for almost a year. My car has been broken into. There was an apartment fire. My AC went out and it took almost a week to have it repaired. I've seen a woman get her purse snatched. A lady was stabbed and robbed. The concierge lockers don't always work so you are not able to retrieve your packages for days. The office people do not think these are major issues. There is trash littered along the property and the dumpster have one central location so its not convenient to take your trash. My water bill for this month is $44. I live in a one bedroom townhome alone. The office staff does not respond to complaints or maintenance request. Sherry in particular has the worst attitude and will basically tell you your issues are not a priority. Oh and the roach problem here is ridiculous. I have had my apartment exterminated 4 times since I've been here. The guy literally walks around and sprays only in front of the cabinets. He is in and out in less than 10 minutes. I would not recommend anyone to stay here. IT IS HORRIBLE. I plan to move as soon as my lease is up.
Get used to your ac dripping constantly. They don’t care. They think it’s normal and let’s take a week to finally deal with it. Half the time they blame it on you but do not care if it happens to cause you trouble. Like having to find a bunch of bowls and such to catch the drippings. Oh not that’s normal just live with it for a week or two. Cause I’m crazy for having to find all the bowls to catch the ac leaks. Well deal with it when we feel like it and then send someone to make it worse. And then say you’re crazy for complaining about water falling from your ceiling. Just FYI it’s your fault that the ac has done those 3-4 times. Cause you use it.
You like being physically tortured! OR if you like dealing with a management office which literally could not care less whether you stayed or went. OR if you love having your packages stolen, cars broken into, and children being run over. OR if you like living in a roach-infested, trash compactor which consistently smells like the bad end of a sewer, 2111 Holly Hall is the perfect place to throw your money away. If I listed every single problem I've had with this place since moving in 2 years ago, it would be longer than a George RR Martin novel. The women working in the office remind me of the mean girls in Mean Girls, they only say what they think will make you leave their office faster so they don't have to talk to you. The business manager is effectively running the entire operation, as the property manager is onsite for less time than a teenage boy would last in bed. DO NOT BE FOOLED BY LOW PRICES. Whatever they are offering you, do not take it! If a single thing breaks in your apartment it can take them nearly a week to post on their portal that they fixed it, even though no maintenance or contractor ever showed up. My unit had some A/C issues. Wait, that's understating it. MY CEILING FELL DOWN. I mentioned that my A/C was leaking, and it took them not one, not two, not three, but FOUR weeks to even come to begin to address the issue. It was only finally fixed when I went into the office and refused to leave until someone in there would come fix my problem. It still took multiple office visits over multiple days to even begin working on the problem. Trashy. Speaking of trash, the dumpsters are in the most inconvenient location on the property. If you have some stinky trash you need to throw out after having guests over, be prepared for a 4-5 minute walk from the center of the property to the dumpster, at night, with basically no light. Anyway, back to maintenance problems. When we first moved in, we noted that the fire extinguisher was labeled empty. We mentioned it, put in a work order, and it was never fulfilled. After the next manager showed up, we also mentioned it, never fixed. Again and again until almost two years later, probably as a result of MY CEILING FALLING DOWN, they FINALLY replaced the fire extinguisher. This brings up my final point. The management. I have had at least 6 different people in two years be the property manager. I've seen probably 30-40 'leasing agents' in that time. IF you like consistency, don't move here.
My daughter has been living in the apartments since last year. For the last 3 weeks (three weeks!) the AC has not been functioning. Temperatures are rising to 100 F inside the apartment and food and goods are spoiling. What is the management’s answer? “There is a problem with the contractor” “ we don’t know when it will be repaired”. After days of delays, the AC was “repaired” and stopped functioning immediately after. This has happened a few times over the last three weeks. Today June 18, 2019 the AC is not functioning -again! I called myself the emergency line- I get a call back that automatically disconnects (I tried myself three times). My daughter tells me that this has been happening for at least 3 weeks. This is how management deals with the tenants and emergencies! This business is a joke and probably a safety hazard for the tenants. If I owned this business I would fire the management on the spot. If you are a potential tenant, my advice is: stay away from Holly Hall Apartments, no matter what kind of deal they offer! Look at the other reviews if you have any doubts.
I am living there not good maintanance at all they do not pick up trash they do not fix when there is anproblem with the apartment i need several repairs and they do not fix it i have to keep calling them every weak i will move
This is thus far the crappiest apartment I have ever lived. It is rotten inside and shiny on outside. There is mold all over that can cause serious short term and long term health issues. The roaches will be your number one roommates. The staffs are all trained to lie to keep you calm, but never get anything done properly unless you talk with them many times to remind them of their jobs. The manager is very unprofessional and impolite in many ways and all she cares about is for you to sign their 30 pages contract. The apartment is so old that in the contract they have one page for "Asbestos" (a cancer causing element) and that the building might have it. You will face undoubtedly a broken part every day; one day plumbing, one day appliances, and the maintenance staffs are the slowest ever that respond to your requests in weeks if not ever ignore them. Only if you had experience of living in a prison you might like it there. I thank god that I moved out but god bless whoever else moving to this place.

While we appreciate you taking the time to bring these issues to our attention, we are very disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your time within our community. We apologize if you feel your interactions with our office and maintenance staff were not up to your standards, as we strive to provide a high level of service to all of our residents and guests. If there are any concerns you wish to discuss further, we are more than willing to speak with you directly.
This is a very bad complex. The worst thing in this community is the manager "Sylvia" : she is very very rude and disrespectful , she has 0 communication skills , don't listen to you , behave as she is the owner of the earth and all other people are her servants. she is responsible for this very low rating due to her bad management and rude attitude. I don't know how this lady became a manager !!!! she is not qualified to become a manager of the trash cans in the complex, not the whole complex. Unsafe , dirty , bad maintenance.

Worst place ever 1.poor maintenance , they always do a temporary fixation which put you in a situation thqt you have to call them again and again to fix it , they even became rude when you call them on the weekend days , the AC system is very old system. 2.unsafe place , multiple robberies happened in the past 5 months , i have to look right and left whenever i want to leave my apartment . 3. And the manager ( i would say she’s the worst person you will ever meet in your life )

Our team strives to deliver a positive living experience, so we're saddened to read that your time with our community did not reflect that. Our team works hard to handle all issues in a professional and timely manner, and we are sorry to have missed the mark with you. It is unfortunate to hear of your issues with unwanted guests, as we do take pest control matters very seriously. Furthermore, we want to apologize for any inconveniences and miscommunications you may have encountered during your move out process. If you would like to further discuss your situation, we encourage to stop by the leasing office as our property manager will be in the office or you can give us a call at your convenience. We appreciate your residency with us and wish you well in your future endeavours.
If I have a choice I would I rate this apartment 0(Zero) out of 5. I had one of the most exceedingly terrible encounters of my life by staying in this apartment. 1. Terrible Apartments– I found old infrastructure and roaches everywhere in the house. If you stay in the first floor you can't avoid roaches. AC here won’t work properly. 2. Discourteous Manager: Manager here is so rude. She always speaks in the high voice and doesn’t know how to talk with the customers. 3.Unsafe: This place is not at all safe. Many robberies took place and windows of cars are broken. 4. Roaches and Bedbugs: Though we keep our apartment clean and hygiene I found roaches in my apartment. I complained to them many times about it, but all went to deaf ears as no action was taken.5. Unprofessional management- Even though I paid the inspection fee amount a way ahead (3 months) before my move-out date, they held up my apartment inspection till last day of the lease. Also, by stating the reason of bug treatment in the house, they extended my move-out date and charged me extra $200 for treatment plus a month rent on the month-to-month basis (include surcharge) as well. I feel this is the complete trap, as they don’t have another apartment ready (The apartmentwhich I was supposed to move in after vacating this house but canceled later after this experience) they played this cheap trick to defer my move-in date My sincere advise to people is to take all review seriously and think twice before you move into this apartments.
They have mouse in the house the management doesn’t take care of it they said we don’t care and their attitude was so rude. Don’t come don’t come if you come it is going to be the worst choice
I RECCOMEND THAT YOU MOVE ELSEWHERE.IT'S A NIGHTMARE TO LIVE HERE. Tour the actual unit before you move in if you decided not to listen to my honest review. Do not look at any deceiving floor plan.Ask them to let you see the actual unit that you'll move into and inspect it carefully. The apartments have roaches, bed bugs, mold, and rat. Plus, the hot tub doesn't work, the pool is always dirty, the garbage is stink, the sewage backs up. The entire apartment complex sometimes has a gross sewage smell and they open the sewage lines. I think it's a big sewage problem here. The staff tries but Management is unprofessional! The manager yelled at the employee. Terrible micro management. PEOPLE GET ROBBED HERE CONSTANTLY AND APARTMENTS GOT BROKEN INTO. RECENTLY, FIVE CARS GOT BROKEN INTO WITH SMASHED WINDOWS. Good luck y'all!

We are sorry that you had such a negative experience. Our time here has proven this property to be a lovely and accommodating place. We would be more than happy to discuss these issues with you if you would care to stop by the office or give us a call." Often times, it can be better to respond and acknowledge the reviewers concerns even if you may not find the review to be accurate. Best,
I would give 0 stars if I could. If you are a lawyer who deals with Bed Bugs and or Landlord/Tenant Issues. You are missing out on a gold mine of clients. This place is crawling people. Do not move here. READ AND TRUST THE REVIEWS THAT YOU SEE. They sign you and you are at their mercy. They do not follow Bed Bug extermination protocols. They only try to nickel and dime the treatments instead of taking out the problem all together. They are untrustworthy. Please. Don't even stop by. Run the other way. People who are being bitten and having allergic reactions, babies who are being bitten, not to mention the roaches, mice, rats, trash, and crime. Please do not even look at this place!
I am a current resident at 2111 Holly Hall and wanted to share how happy I am to see progress being made on this property with the new property manager. I have always liked my apartment but had a few concerns, now that I am seeing changes on the property I have no doubts in renewing my lease for another term.
Very bad officers, and late work. Very old apartments. They dont care if u have problem in property that should be solved urgently. !!! . So happy it is my last month with them

Been here for a year. Tha staff is ok. Not terrible but aren't particularly helpful. The apartments are very old and are on a crooked foundation. There are so many bugs! I've found them in my water glass. They've crawled on my food while preparing it . I'll walk into the kitchen and 4-5 will scatter on the counter. We are clean people and still have issues. We've complained multiple times but no change. Please consider before living here. It's just plain gross.

Never take a rent in this locality. 1)It take 2 weeks to repair your stuff in this apartment. 2)The Manger sucks, trust me. Full of Bedbugs ,if you tell them she yells. 3)She asks her lease to bring bed bugs and show them. 4)AC of half apartments do not work. Gof help the poor students
One of the worst places to live in Houston. 1. Extremely pricey for a complex that looks like ----. 2. Horrible houses - you ll find bed bugs and roaches even before you move in. 3. Worst maintained complexes- they have been annoying us with maintenance activities for the past 6 months- continuous power cuts, noise and disturbance. 4. Corrupt management- I have complained 5-6 times regarding the gym, lights for tennis courts etc. All they said we shall get it done but nothing so far. 5. Scandalous prices- The rents keep increasing every hour if they find that you are on the lookout for a house. 6. Highly unprofessional management- They scheduled our place for a roach treatment. They never turned up, never informed us and the never attended calls. We packed everything and waited like fools. This looks like battered down place from a third world country. Don't even consider moving in here unless you are beaten to stupidity or blinded by irrationality. God save the United States.
The apartment is amazing with all the basic facilities and high quality service maintenance along with a very helpful and happy group of people that manage the apartments. I am loving my stay here and will suggest my friends also who are moving to Houston to try this apartment. Keep it up 2111 Holy Hall.
Everything is ok, it is near the highway and bus station. But there are many cockroach.
Overpriced but great location. Has problems with cockroaches and little caterpillar looking things. You must give a 60 day notice instead of a 30 day and that's how they "get people" . A lot of people do not know this and have to pay a month to month rent because of this which is much more expensive
Buildings are and need to be remodeled instead of having to call maintenance every other day.
