Terrible maintenance! You call several times and it still takes them about a week to come out. Emergency number doesn’t work. Doors are ruined. Breaks ins are horrible. They bust car windows throughout the complex if they can’t get in your car. Cooperate does nothing about, besides bring up the curtesy officer that lives out here but is NEVER on duty. The office people are nice and also the maintenance men when they do come out, but they’re never on their duties. Not worth your money!! Very dangerous location!!

I must say I recently moved in the Retreat and the location turned out to be perfect, the property is very clean, I live alone and feel very safe and quiet, and my apartment is very spacious. Excellent staff, and helped me a lot on moving! Thanks!
I have lived here since The Retreat was built and as a retiree I observe a lot of things on this property and I want to respond to the review left by "M"---who is a person by the name of Megan. I personally saw when the maintenance man with the new company helped her with her car when it wouldn't start, which is not a part of apartment duties, why wasn't that in the review? I helped build this complex with the Crosby's when they owned it and the property DO NOT border lower Wetumpka road. If you can throw other people's names out then stand by what you say and put your own out there too. I will admit that the first manager of the new company was not the best but if M is going to cast stones then be clear and fair---Hallmark management did not take over our place until February of this year and I know this because me and the courtesy officer met them and helped hand out letters telling all of the residents, so if you are concerned about not getting pest control since December that would be on Aspen. The new second manager who came in May is nice and I find them to be very nice and helpful and see them work hard to meet everyone. I see the pest control man out here every week and he has been the same since 2012 so I don't know what this person is talking about. I am retired and I see just about everything because this place is small like you want it to be. I don't know about break ins but I do know they can happen anywhere these days but I also know that no nobody else been broken into because I am former Montgomery police office and still pay attention to that sort of thing. I love my home and I love this community. Make your own opinions instead of a negative review by a disgruntled person who throws rocks but hides their hands and presents lies as facts. Most of us who live here have been here for a long time and we don't have the problems "M" does.

I have lived here for 2 years and I just renewed my lease. What I can say is that this complex is one of the best secrets in Montgomery. It's off the beaten path and is always clean, quiet and comfortable. You will not find apartments this big or pretty for the price anywhere else. Most people here are working people and that makes the place very well kept to a higher standard of living. This is an upscale place with a lot of different people living here, no riff-raff on this property. It's a beautiful place and I enjoy it here very much.

The new management company Hallmark and staff is terrible and very unprofessional! When the complex was owned by Aspen Square, the grounds were maintained, the staff was courteous and we received monthly pest control treatment which is included. When the new management company took over, everything changed. They send out late rental notices. Pest control has only been out once since December 2015 and residents were not notified in advance. The regional manager Pam does not return calls. Do not move on the back side closer to lower Wetumpka Road. There have been several incidents of people jumping over the fence trying to break in cars. The weeds and bushes on the backside are overgrown and have not been cut since Hallmark Management has taken over. Recently, someone broke into my apartment. I could not get in touch with emergency maintenance to come fix my door until the next day when the office opened. The number that was given for emergencies was a non-working number! Do not move into these apartments!

A very clean, safe and quiet complex with a supportive staff. There's a dog park, pond, pool, workout room and quick access to Prattville, Wetumpka or downtown. The only downside is the parking. Spaces are poorly marked and visitors will park in your assigned spaces often, but I've enjoyed living here for the past year.
