Property Ratings at Retreat at Hart Ranch
I wrote a previous post that I had no pest control issues whatsoever shortly after that I have gnats coming in from all over the place I cannot get rid of them I’ve worked in apartments for over six years I know all the tricks and the manager proceeded to talk to me like basically it’s not their problem after they spray whatever they spray she basically said that’s all they can do. I said I pay for pest control expect them to do a good job. I’ve been dealing with this for over a month. And I had already done everything that she already said she said that pest control only treats for spiders roaches and that’s about it so you’re telling me that if I have a pest control issue and I’m paying for pest control y’all can’t solve my problem and it’s my problem not yours? Really
Do you need basic amenities like running water? Surprise! It’ll be shut off every other day! Without warning! Without reason! You will NEVER receive help when you need it. If any appliance they provide for you is malfunctioning for you in any way they will ignore your request for repairs. In three years of living here they have only shown up twice to fix problems. One was a leak in the ceiling that they let me live with for three months. It’s San Antonio. It’ll rain once a week for three months at least. The second time they finally appeared was to fix the A.C. Unit, but left an awful mess we had to clean. If you want reliable internet DO NOT LIVE HERE! Once a month I have to take at least an 2 hours to talk with spectrum just to restart my router. They locked all of the equipment behind a box in the wall. They treat tenets like children, assuming you don’t have the basic knowledge to function like an adult. Don’t be surprised when you try and move out to be charged for every hair or flake of dust you leave behind in the shack that is your apartment. P.S. the public washer and dryer units will ruin your clothes.
This apartment complex has caused me nothing but problems since I moved in. My water is constantly being shut off and the office staff is very unhelpful. It is always very noisy so you cannot relax on your day off. When I first moved in I was notified that they would clean the ceilings in my apartment because they were extremely dusty and nobody ever came as I had other issues that needed to be resolved. This is not a place to consider living it. I expected way more especially it being my first apartment. Never again.
In the last five years or so this has been proven to be a "Flip" property just to make money off of. Hence some of the lackluster reviews. In the last thirteen years I have seen four new owners, and twice as many new managers and assorted staff. I can reassure you the current Owners/Mgt @ Sylis (Denisse, Sandra, Luis) are seriously dedicated to make things right, and listen to the smallest detail and proven to me the willingness to get it right. The overall facade has greatly improved and maintenance staff is very professional and uniformed. My family could not be more pleased. Give them a call.
All I have to say is wow! What a wonderful staff and it start with the managers Lisa and Kendra. They are so attentive and so welcoming. Also always ready to take every call and concern. The complex is always clean and it seems like they have it together. The events are always so fun and giving.
One thing that makes this complex stand out from any others is the AMAZING office staff and great location. I am a graduate student and I lived in alot complexes, but this office staff is the best one in any complex by far! Stephanie, Bree, and Angel are three of the of the most friendly, hard working, compassionate people that i have ever met. These three girls are a great team and will be there for you the second that you need them. From the second you take a tour with them, you signing your lease, and every day after that their customer service is there 110% No leasing office staff in the area does anything close to what they do. If you have a problem or question it is fixed and solved that same day if not definitely the next. It rare to have this level of customer service on a daily basis and I just wanted to thank these girls from the bottom of my heart. So to Stephanie, Bree, and Angel THANK YOU for being the best leasing office that I have ever know.
This is the worst apartment in San Antonio area. The roof leaks in heavy rain. Management is the worst. They cheat the money. Once you move out, be ready to pay huge amounts no matter how well you clean it up.
Rented me apartment full of damage; i.e. bedroom door with a hole the size of a watermelon just filled with plaster, vent above stove completely not working, bathtub leaking hot water throughout my entire lease that they never fixed and sometimes made worse, plaster patches above blinds in bedroom so I couldn't hang real blinds, leak in the ceiling by the fireplace, a fireplace that would fill the apartment with smoke and months of complaints before someone would come to look only to get a note saying clean it yourself, a fridge that continually filled with water, and a toilet that would only flush half the time even if it wasn't used. At end of lease they lied about putting a notice on my door and mailing one to me, my mailbox never worked either, so they could force me to pay an extra two months rent at $130 more. They quit fixing things in my last couple months because they were renevating apartments after the current tenets left. They were forcing me out so they could renovate and charge the next person more. The bad part is I let most of this slide, I told them about it but aside from the ones that cost me money I didn't push them to fix. I tried to not be annoying but when I get treated like this being hesitant to ask for maintenance it shows they don't care at all. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!
These apartments are too small for the price other than that it is in a very good location.
4/5 stars ---Staff: -They are responsive 90% of the time to emails. Sometimes you will have to repeatedly email to get their attention. Phone calls are a bit less responsive; probably around 80% of the time you will get through. -While they may respond to your email or phone call, you won't always get the outcome you're desiring. For example-there were 6 kittens found living behind my building, I called multiple times for them to help me get the humane society involved or animal control because I was worried they wouldn't be taken care of. They didn't do anything about it. Now there are 3 still left and thankfully people in my building, including me, feed them and give them water. ---Safety: -I would say this apartment complex has the potential to be 99% safe, but in reality is about 85% or so. -An example: I have lived here over a month now and have not had to use my gate key AT ALL. The entrance gate is absolutely never closed; not even at night, even after the property manager assured me it was working. -Another example that could have been prevented: someone took my water bottle and $10 from me while I was at the pool. I admit I should have had my eye on it at all times BUT for one, the front gate was wide open as usual and the pool gate was broken. -While they could absolutely make changes to make the complex as safe as it could be, I do feel safe here. Everyone has been nice and while in my apartment I have not had any issues. It's in a great area so I don't worry. ---Quality of the apartment interior: -I really love this apartment's interior. I live in an upgraded one bedroom, I believe it's called A2 floor plan. The kitchen and bathroom appliances and floors are all updated, black appliances, nice faux wood flooring. -The bedroom size for a one bedroom apartment is phenomenal. There is plenty of walking around space with furniture inside. The closet is very big and accommodating. -One thing I would change if possible is the kitchen pantry size is quite small from my experience of other complexes, but you can make it work. -The carpet was nice and clean in my apartment at move in. -It really is ample space for a one bedroom apartment. ---Pricing: -I got a great price for this apartment, they had a special going on which took $50/month off, plus they do a 3% discount for students! Those two things were a big factor in my decision. -They do make you pay $40/mo for cable, mandatory.
I have currently lived in my apartment 7 months. So far I've had to call maintenance a lot due to some minor and some major issues with the apartment. Minor:toilet running constantly, garbage disposal not working, and also plug ins not working. Major: air conditioning leaking from ceiling in bathroom and huge crack on the ceiling. The staff and maintenance and nice and friendly and get the job done. I just wish I didn't have to call then as much as I did. Other than that the upgraded apt I currently reside in is great. New appliances, wood flooring and cabinets, updated fixtures and so on. If looking for a big upgraded one bedroom I suggest this place.
I've been living in an upgraded unit for about 8 months now and I feel like I know what to expect if I choose to stay at this complex. The upgrade unit is very nice and great for the price I pay, but it seems like everything around me is showing its age. The apartment complex are 20 or so years old, and the problems older apartments face all seem to be coming up at the same time. Maintenance and the office are very and quick about getting out but have to do so almost every other week. I shouldn't need to see the maintenance man so much, no matter how nice he is. Some other issues I have: the gate is almost never closed and when it is the cars pile up because there is no gate code, only key cards. Also my car was stolen the first week after I moved in, but that may or may not be the apartment's fault...
