Property Ratings at Retreat at Lakeside
I have truly enjoyed my time living at the retreat at cypress station. The new leasing office employees are very nice and helpful, maintanence always shows up on time with a smile mr Victor the new lead maintanence are always taking care of my issues with my apartment, I’ve been living here since 2011 and never been so happy with the complex, the fountain by the lake looks so nice at night. The parking has gotten better since the new towing company started doing their job. I want to give a 5 start review and share my current experiences to all the new residents.
This place is a joke and a dump. Trash everywhere, no parking not even the one you actually pay for. The Managment hides from the problems. Gun shots like crazy. They don’t help you ever no Laing me ever done. Mold everywhere form the walls and roof Leaking into the patios and the actual Apartment. This place is old nothing is new those pictures they have are not the real ones. They are ugly and the appliances don’t work. They break all the time they leak the fridge will stop working and it comes infested With cockroaches. No security they will also not take out your trash. The so call lake is a green swamp with overgrown grass everywhere and dog shits all around. The pool is never open, neither is the gym they have. It’s a complete joke be prepared to also see trash everywhere and you cars to be burglarized and dented and scratched on purpose. To have homeless people to sleep in your patios because the gate doesn’t work correctly and anyone can come in.
Management changes every 3 months and they never answer the phone. We have issues with pest including ants, gnats, carpet bugs, roaches, and raccoons.Terrible parking, several gunshots can be heard often. Pool hasn’t been open since I moved here 1 and a half year ago. I had a water leak come through my ceilings. Staff ls rude especially janelle. I’m miserable here at these apartments I will not recommend anyone to move here trust me!
I am I resident at The Retreat at Cypress Station. I have had problems with my door for over a year and it has progressively gotten worse. I placed a work order in July 3, 2020 and it has still yet to be resolved. Rosa, the property manager told the asst manager to tell me that I would have to BUY a new door if I want it replaced. She’s refusing to even speak to me, she won’t answer the phone, won’t return my phone calls or emails. I have been a resident here for over 3 years and I have decided not to renew due to how I’m being treated. This issue is clearly a foundation issue- the maintenance members even agreed with me this is a foundation issue. She’s seen photos of the door and simply refuses to help me. I’ve never been treated so poorly in my life.
It’s like pulling teeth to get repairs done to the apartment. Poor customer service and they give you the run around. No one is ever on the same page.
They will lie to you about everything when you apply then when you move in you will have so many problems with your apartment. The management is rude super rude and when it’s time to get off work there is No where to park
Every since GPI has taken over, the parking has been horrible, lights out all over the property so it's very dark at night when I come home, the leasing staff isn't knowledgeable and I've had an open work order for over two weeks. I'm extremely disappointed because I can never reach the manager and now the phone number to the office is disconnected. I will not be renewing my lease.
The morning of July 4th, 2018 we had our car broken into along with 20+ other cars. When we went to the office to ask what they could do for us they just said they would be looking at secure footage and having more security at night. Yet the main gate has been broken for well over 3 weeks so literally anyone can come in and go as they pleased! And what about the secure guard that night?? He was nowhere to be seen! Do not move into these apartments! They don’t care about your personal property!
DONT EVER MOVE HERE , JUST KEEP GOING ! !!!!! HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT , HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE , HORRIBLE EVERYTHING ABOUT THESE APARTMENTS . THEY NEED TO FIRE DENISE NOW !! People have been moving out left and right. And now I see why !! Really wish I can give them NO STARS ! They don’t even deserve HALF a star . When my family and I first moved into these apartments 3 yrs ago, the managment Carmen, Latoya and Rico was nice , respectful , caring , understating , and full of life and they always will give a helping hand if your in need , the units were always full, everybody loved to stay here , never could find parking ,because everybody loved to stay here . the trash was always cleaned up , carports were cleaned , they had work orders in at a timely manner . If it was a problem with anything they let you know ahead of time . If it’s new polices or rules they let you know. they resolved issues quickly, they always listen to your concerns and now these apts are so empty , people are leaving one by one .the carports have trash everywhere , they take forever to even come fix anything , they don’t let you know of new policies and changes , we have a HUGE raccoon problem here and we have complain over and over again and they haven’t did anything about it ! these apartments have went DOWNHILL since DENISE has been in management! WHEN OUR LEASE IS UP IN MARCH WE WILL BE LEAVING ALSO ! And I can’t wait !! I wish I was able to move yesterday ! the manager DENISE and her assistant DAWN , these two women are rude , disrespectful , unprofessional , lack customer service , lack management skills , liars and just plan out the devil . They will disrespect you and have attitudes with you , when your spending your hard working money to leave Somewhere , where you should be treated with the all most respect . BUT THIS ISNT THE PLACE , TELL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY DONT EVER MOVE HERE!!!!!!
I have been looking for an apartment for my daughter and myself for about six weeks. I was referred to The Retreat at Cypress Station by a friend. As I was driving up to the property I was more than amazed with the cleanliness and the outside appearance. As my daughter and myself walked up the side walk you could smell nice fragrance im the area. Once we walked in the office you could tell they were extremely busy and this one young lady greeted us with a warm smile and offered us to have a seat and she would be with us shortly. I could over hear talking about the property to another couple and she seemed so friendly. She then approached us as where we're sitting on sofa if we would like any refreshments and also offered a floor plan. She asked me would we like to group tour or one on one tour, I agreed with the group tour. Once we went into the front lobby more people walked in and the lady goes by the name Raven asked another young lady in Office could she help out in the front and she yelled from the back making a comment "I gotta go my kids are home and they need me". I thought as a professional women that was not a good team member to make a comment out loud in front of customers but Raven handled it very professional. As we went on the tour she explained so much in complete clear detail where you where very comfortable. She showed the mail location, she took us to the lake " wow how beautiful" showed us a animal park. She explained the parking stickers for resisters which I liked a lot, we also seem the pretty blue pool and the gym. Raven made me feel like I was already a resident there. I'm not ready to move just yet but this will be my first choice due to the service I reviewed.
After living here for 4 years, I can honestly say the reviews about this place are a joke! First, no one ever goes to the "lake" it's more like a swamp pond with tons of bugs. Which brings me to my next point, bugs. It seems like every time I go into the office to pick up a package, another resident is complaining about a bug problem. We have tons of spiders and wasp nests around the patio. I've asked for pest control to come by several times and no one has. Parking is pretty much non-existent. We would have to park OUTSIDE the apartment gates on the STREET for months until we were able to secure 1 parking spot for an additional cost of course. I don't feel comfortable parking outside the apartment gates and walking to my apartment with the shady people that live around here. There's also at least three 18-wheelers parked outside the apartment gates and I've been harassed and followed by a trucker before. Also, if you like having guests over make sure they park outside the gates because they WILL get towed. Maintenance does respond pretty fast but the last 3 times I've needed maintenance they have left a mess in my apartment. The AC was leaking from the bathroom ceiling and I was home when the maintenance worker came to fix it. I heard a big gush of water and when the worker was finished I went to see the fix and he had left water EVERYWHERE and one of his dirty towels. Absolutely no pride taken in the work that's done. Lastly, my neighbors are a nightmare. They have dogs that they let RUN LOOSE to go use the restroom outside so their lazy butts don't have to take the dogs themselves. Mind you the dog park can literally be seen from their apartment window!! These dogs terrorize everyone that walks by with their constant barking and chasing people. I've watched someone nearly try to run one of the dogs over. I have complained time and time again and management tells me, "Oh, they should be moving out soon." Of course they never did and are still here yelling for their poorly behaved dogs from the top of their lungs to call them back inside. So don't believe what you read, this has been the absolute WORST apartment experience and we will be getting out ASAP.
Denise was great Unless you have a perfect rental history, you will not rent here Integrity will be questioned Only looking for a specific type of resident Will change their mind at the last minute Unclear verification check (told history was clear but told differently after move in was approved) Even if you are very open with leasing about past issues, that will not be taken into consideration If moving in with someone, be sure both have clear history, will not rent to one out of the group Very judgemental
I absolutely love this place. I would've given a 5 Star rating but the only, and yes I mean ONLY, bad thing about this place is that there are not many open parking spaces. I will be staying here for a very long time. The management cares about the environment and the people are so nice. I love to sit at the tables near the lake and run around the track in the morning. This place is definitely worth the price.
Recently I find myself having to change my living situation. I very apprehensive. I hadn't had to look for a residence in years. But I meticulously began my search. In the end I selected three complexes to submit my application. The first complex was stunning; however, apparently the staff was extremely proud of their property. They had horrible attitudes. But I submitted my application anyway. A few days later I inquired about my application status because I hadn't heard from them. Their reply, "when would you like to pick up your deposit." I was stunned. Nervously, I applied to The Retreat at Cypress Station. I explained that there was something on either my credit report or rental history that had caused my application to be denied days earlier. Within 24 hours they replied that I had been approved. They encouraged me to inquire further about the previous denial. The result of inquiry and reason for the denial, my previous rental request wasn't submitted fast enough for them. But I digress. The staff at The Retreat have been friendly and amazing. Every staff member waives and speaks when they see me. They even know my dogs name. The front office staff have even given me treats for here. I'm out of the country and they have contacted me to let me know that they are keeping an eye on my unit and all is secure. In the end, I look at a blessing that I didn't get to lease with my first choice. I have never been more happy than where I am now.
