Property Ratings at Retreat at Stonebridge Ranch Apartments
I’ve lived here for 4 1/2 years and I’ve never gotten any complaints until managers came in the brand new ones and now I have been getting complaints nonstop the place is trash and the maintenance people are awesome. I love them but they let people just anybody in here and they don’t keep up with the place. There’s always trash everywhere the trash people don’t pick up their stuff like they’re supposed to And it’s just if I could I would’ve never moved here in the first place. If I would’ve known it was gonna be like this I’m still living here and I wish the place got a lot better than what it is they keep doing all these projects and not finishing them so we just need better people completely, and actually stick up what they’re actually gonna do , my message of me living here
Not preferred, very bad management. So many extra charges that are not mentioned during the lease signup.

I lived here for 13months. It is actually a great apartments. I had no issue at all except that they make me pay for trash I could've taken to the garbage myself. Not judging them for that though, every apartment in Mckinney does plus trash place will probably be a mess if everyone take their trash out themselves

First of all, I have no issues with the property itself. The building and apartment areas look fine. The issue I ran into was during the application process. I was approved quickly, in fact the day after I applied. However, it took several unanswered emails over multiple days and couple of phone calls to get my lease questions answered. A rent special of two free weeks was started after I was approved, but they wouldn't offer it to me because it started after I applied. The denial didn't make sense to me since I was just like any other applicant at this point because I hadn't signed a lease yet. Offering the special to me or the next person would be exactly the same. I spoke with the manager who stated she would need to get regional manager approval to offer me the rent special. She agreed to call me back that day, but did not. In fact, after several days, I had to reach out again to find out her answer. She told me that she would make an exception and give me the rent special, but she would not accommodate me with any other requests. This was stated to me in a manner that came across as she was doing me a favor against her will. I asked to end the application process and would like a refund of the $150 administrative fee. At this point I was not comfortable with moving there. If they don't follow up in a timely manner during the application process and seem reluctant to accommodate reasonable requests, how would they treat me after I moved in? I emailed her regional manger almost a week ago now with my concerns, and guess what? I haven't received a response from her either. This has been a very disappointing and expensive experience.

Moved into this apartment last month and do not recommend it to anyone! I mean the apartments are just okay - little costly for what they offer. There is nothing great or outstanding in here - just the same what any other apartment would offer - so not sure what they're offering at the price they quote. The apartments are just okay - not too good not too bad! The worst part is the management or the people at the leasing office..!! As a new resident or a future resident - you expect a warm welcome from the leasing office - the minimum of a smile..! but when you walk in, people don't even bother to smile. If you ask questions, they get annoyed. If you question what they're explaining, they become super rude..! Like they don't accept personal checks for payments. Paying through your bank account needs verification (which takes 3-4 days), so you end up paying with your credit card. The credit card has 5% processing fees - when asked why couldn't they tell this before (so that one would have verified their bank account sooner), their response is "everyone asks for this processing fees" - I was like, it's not "everyone" and who so ever does, they do mention it before hand..! Also, when you walk in - they raise their eyebrows and ask "what do you want today?" - so you feel unwanted and unwelcoming the moment you stepped into the office..! I can cite more examples here if needed but the bottom line is, the leasing office people are very rude and non-understanding of your issues/problems..! They do anything in the name of "company policy" and behave as if this is the only "company" in the world and no body knows anything. So, I don't personally don't recommend this property to anyone..! I am myself waiting for my lease to get over so that I can move to a place where people are happy to have me as one of their residents..!

Thanks for taking the time to share this feedback. We certainly strive to be welcoming to our residents and make things convenient for them, but I understand that we've let you down. It's disappointing to hear that you've been inconvenienced by some of our policies, but I can assure you that we do not run our community to make life difficult for our residents. It sounds like there's some room for improvement with our customer service, so I've made a note of your comments. If you have anything else you'd like to share, please let me know. Thank you, Allison Fletcher - Property Manager - 972-562-0600
We've had the pleasure of living here for about 5 months now. The entire experience has been stellar. Duane was absolutely amazing in helping us secure a unit, and his ongoing commitment has been such a gift. Jennifer is also an excellent person to deal with. The friendliness of the staff has been nothing short of perfect. The apartment itself is great too. The kitchen alone is noteworthy. It's a quiet area for the most part, and is easily the best place we've lived.
Excellent location for access to shopping & main highways.
Staff not super responsive; noisy upstairs neighbors,;management unwilling to lower renewal rates during pandemic; unwilling to come in to clean carpet, etc due to "covid," but maintenance cleared to come in for other non-emergency services despite covid
Retreat is great place to live, after living here for over a year. Have not had any problems with my neighbors. It is a nice quite place to live. Most of the people I have met here are very kind people. Haven't met the new manager yet, but I did get to meet the new Leasing Consultor. Who was very nice. So far, I think that anyone who will move in here will not regret it.
The community is not bad but like I said above, the management needs to act more responsibly.
After the large turnover rate for the personal at the leasing office. The lack of response for questions, over billing. This place used to be a great place with an office that seamed to care about residents.
The parking is horrible and the trash pick up too.cant get a hold to office staff sometimes .
I had a Problem with my AC and I sent a request for service on the Residents app, The maintenance guy came in the morning to fix the problem, I was so impressed
Communication is terrible and request arent met at a timely matter
Poor security, misinformation of charges.
I love my apartment and have enjoyed living here.
I dont have a pet either do I have small kids. I stayed in apt 1136 for 2 year was not charge for carpet or paining that worth $2000. After making my intention know that I may be moving out in apt 1228, where I lived just for a year. I was mistakenly over charged $700 as claimed by Stephanie, which I paid hoping to be refunded. On moving out I kept the house cleaned but admin refused to do walk trough because of COVID, that they could have won a mask. Despite my $350 initial deposit and my $700 over charge. I am sent a bill of oweing $500. I leave in your apt and never delay payment kept all rules. Now treated unfairly. I will pay the money but hope the cooperate office will investigate this issue. If not I leave the management with their conscience. Thank u
I have been a resident for 9 years now and through many changes in management. It just seems that since the office closed nothing gets taken care of by management. The maintenance personnel are the only people that seem to care about the residents. Maintenance personnel are excellent.
Lovely experience living here
Great community to live in, amazing apartments, beautiful complex, easy access to a lot of local amenities in McKinney and relatively close proximity to major roadways & transportation. I would 100% live in this complex again if I needed an apartment in the northern suburbs. FYI: Don't walk in the grass...none of the dog owners pick up after their animals and it's a disaster area if you go off the sidewalks.
I waited for more than two months for my microwave to be replaced. That was too long .
I love the quiet atmosphere of the apartment community. The leasing agents were friendly and very fast in helping with the move in process.
I lived there only for one month yet. In general, I am really satisfied because it is exactly what I searched! The price, condition and location are perfectly corrected, so I probably recommend it!
Retreat at Stonebridge Ranch is not the same when I had moved there in 2013. No matter what the issues are the manager will take care of it right away. They always make sure the tenants are 100% satisfied. Unfortunately, ever since your company merged it has been a struggle. All these fees have been increased. For example this company decided to installed the ADT system without any meetings just through an email and then charged us a monthly fee for it. I felt that I was forced to accept it because when it was time to renew my lease I had to sign something that I didn't approve otherwise I would not be able to renew my lease.
Beautiful place, so peaceful and neat. I love my apartment, the kitchen is so big and beautiful The view from my Patio is so Amazingly wonderful.
Staff is great, maintenance staff exceptional
this place would be great. management teams needs to work on communication. lack of responses from the office does not reflect good o. the direction of the customer care.
Its a great place to live. I have no complaints so far.
Good and Clean community. New apartments.
I love the community here. I've met some of the neighbors that was very friendly. The apartment I live in is nice, comfortable, and spacious. The kitchen and wash room is spacious and I like that. I really like it here. Management are sweet people who seem to care about their tenants. I don't want to ever move but I will if there is no honesty.
Weve had issues with Office staff professionalism. Added fees without notice.
The maintenance staff is great. I have an issue about the forced electronic smart locks on our apartments for $40 fee each month, plus the McKinney police fee to be registered for possible calls when the alarm is set off, plus a call out fee. The garbage fee is outrageous. The same fee per household regardless of the amount of garbage valeted. IE: I have two bags per week, other families have two or more bags per day but we pay the same amount per month, about $45.
Front office staff extremely rude in person and likely wont reach them by phone. Maintenance staff very fast and helpful, just make sure you are dressed since they kinda barge in your front door. I moved out a month early for a couple reasons besides the above mentioned. First the condition of the apartments exterior spaces was very dirty. Outside nightly n my walks I would see large rats running down hallways as well as climbing the branches of the trees. Seems this would be caused by the trash in the hallways at all times of the day and night as well as just the overall cleanliness of the grounds, dog owners rarely picked up their animals poop. There seemed to be a bug problem inside as well as outside the buildings, likely for the same reasons as above. I would not recommend these apartments to anyone Due to rude staff and unsanitary conditions overall.
There is literally no privacy here. They will come to your apartment with or without your permission. The doors have automated locks which are controlled by the apartments so they can unlock & enter whenever they want. The management changed few months ago & it has been crazy. Fire alarms inspections every few months where strangers walk in your apartment, look in your closets & you cannot opt out for it. My children & pets get disturbed but there is no way to have them not do this. We are looking for other living options in the area- there will be no privacy for you in these apartments.
Do yourself a favor and don’t even look at the property. The management is awful: never answers phones or returns voicemail, HORRIBLE customer service, promises changes that never happen and then don’t answer any questions about upcoming changes. I’ve been here for almost 3 years and the last 6 months have been miserable. Also, dog poop and aggressive dogs everywhere. My dogs have been attacked 4 times by aggressive dogs that aren’t leashed. Just look elsewhere.
The layout and design are nice. Granite countertops, spacious bathrooms, and large concrete patios. I have lived her for 2 years and the management has changed 3 times. With each transition the new management team will bring something new and interesting to the property. 2017 yoga classes, 2018 more community events, 2019 an app.... The downside is that if i leave any drain in my bathroom open at night. I will have water bug cockroaches everywhere. This is a major issue for me.
We're very glad we found the Retreat when looking for an apartment in the Stonebridge Ranch area. The rates were great, the staff was super friendly and worked diligently to get us a great price and availability. We were moving from out of state, and I was able to do everything online prior to our arrival. We drove into McKinney on a Sunday and they had everything ready and waiting for us to move in that afternoon. The new appliances, clean units and easy access to so many local places made this an easy decision. We're very happy we chose the retreat and gladly recommend moving here to anyone looking for a clean, quiet and affordable apartment complex.
I am very happy to live where I do and have such good service team. I like the people in the office as well they are very friendly.
Lovely ambiance and nice community to live in. Service requests are promptly treated. I love it here.
The Retreat so far has been ok. The dog park is nice, but people do not pick up after their dogs and have encountered aggressive dogs there. The community itself is pretty clean, and very dog friendly. The pool area, clubhouse, and weight room are all relatively clean and nice to use. We have had no issues at all with noise. Office staff and maintenance are all friendly. Had issues when we moved, with stuff not getting fixed.
The employees in the leasing office are always friendly and the service techs and maintenance workers are very efficient; however, the parking is HORRIBLE, the landscaping at the back of the complex is terrible, the overall appearance at the back of the complex is disappointing, the safety issues with the back entrance to building 13 has been ignored for YEARS.
I have recommended friends and will continue to do so.
the management team does not seem to care as much as the old team
Beautifully maintained complex that feels like home!
Since Janelle left; the service has gotten bad. Front office people don't seem to care and don't followup
As a resident since April 2017, I am absolutely ecstatic with my apartment. This spacious 2 bedroom 2 bathroom living area provides my son and I plenty of room to be us, be comfortable, fulfill our needs, and be happy. However, I will note that I have had several complaints in regards to the community as far as respect for rules, quickly fixed external concerns, like gated areas not working, hot tub, although hot, it does not function with the bubble feature, and simple communication about the public grill units in the pool area. I have also noticed a lack of concern in maintaining poolside equipment, ie... broken chairs and umbrellas. Although i do appreciate the locks on pool gates, closing hours are not enforced, nor is the "no glassware" rule. Things are mentioned in emails to the community, but there is a lack of follow up to ensure expectations are met. The clubhouse area is always clean and welcoming, as are the office staff members. I do believe the management intends well, and absolutely offers to do anything to make you comfortable. It's only been through being here a few months that one comes to realize the lack of accountability. They will quickly say certain things are managed by outside vendors, but in my opinion, if you are wanting residents to give referrals, the services need to be consistently maintained. Grant it, I have not lived in an apartment for over 10 years, but I am a fan of high expectations and accountability, so that's where I am coming from. Overall, I am very happy to be here, I just have to accept some realities that I truly feel could be better.

Hi! Welcome back to multifamily living and Thank you so much for your review! We love hearing what our residents love about our community, and we?re so happy you are enjoying your Apartment home. The grills are fully functional and working. If you would like to stop by we would be happy to assist you in using them. We realize that not everyone follows policies for the community, but we try our best to regulate those issues. We provide plastic cups when we notice someone with glass in the pool while we are onsite. We are always happy to address any concerns you may have directly. I have had the worst experience since day 1. Apartment was not ready on move in date. So instead allowed us to move in and just make a list of all the things that needed to be fixed. Still haven't resolved some of those issues as of today. Here is a brief list of some of those issues. The overall interior paint in the apartment unit is horrible. Dysfunctional Blinds in several rooms Rusted hardware on cabinets doors Cabinet trim around dishwasher Peeling paint on doorway trim Rusted light fixture in restroom
From the moment you walk in the Leasing Office, you feel at home. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The experience I had picking out my apartment was great, I could tell the Leasing Agent really loved her job and helping me find the perfect place to live was important to her. Even when I walk around the complex the staff is very friendly and accommodating. Great place to live.
I have lived at The Retreat at Stonebrige for almost 8 years. No complaints and currently we have an excellent staff.
Excellent customer service and friendly environment.
