30 minutes north of Denver is where you’ll find Interlocken, a suburb set in the vast open spaces of Broomfield. Beautiful green space, business parks, and new apartment developments line its vast boulevards, all exposed to views of the mountains to the west.
Central HOA Park stretches along Interlocken Blvd. through a large section of the neighborhood. It’s a welcome stretch of green for renters and professionals who work and live in Interlocken. There’s also Flatiron Crossing, an impeccably designed shopping center that offers up a variety of buzzing restaurants, stores, and an upscale movie theater.
Those in search of nightlife will appreciate the short drive to both Denver and Boulder on the turnpike, and all the easily accessible wilderness that Colorado is known for.

Property Ratings at Retreat at the Flatirons
I would definitely recommend this community for anyone looking for a home in the Broomfield/Louisville area. I am 25 and have really enjoyed the proximity to both Boulder and Denver. It is also conveniently located between several major grocery stores, Costco, the Flatirons mall, and a fantastic hospital. The apartments themselves are super high quality and sturdy. I recently needed to relocate out of the state of Colorado for a job opportunity, and I have to say one of the biggest bummers of the move for my girlfriend and I is having to leave our home at Retreat at the Flatirons. We have lived here for 2.5 years and have enjoyed every bit of it. The community is safe, clean, and accommodating. The amenities (pool area and fitness center) have a very premium feel. Maintenance requests are completed by an excellent staff quickly and with care. The maintenance team is incredibly skilled, timely, and super friendly. One of my favorite features is the walking path around the complex where my girlfriend and I would take walks daily. There is also a cool nature preserve back there that can be a nice place to decompress. The only outstanding con I can think of is parking can be an issue sometimes if you come home late, but there is usually an open spot somewhere in the complex. This issue could also be solved by renting a garage. Overall, I definitely recommend living in this community for anyone looking for a quiet, safe community with close proximity to Boulder and Denver.
4 years We lived here for four years. My family really love this apartment complex. If we have maintenance requests they will resolve asap. One person in the maintenance team is so kind and helpful ( I don’t know his name ) thank you and love you retreat.
Such a beautiful tranquil space ~ anyone looking for a home I highly recommend having a look here. It is quiet, spacious, and radiates peaceful vibes. I would have it no other way. This overall experience of the space, the attention, the help, the people deserves a 10 out of 5 stars without any hesitation! The staff is amazing, maintenance always has the place clean and is on top of it. Great management. Issues are taken care of in a professional manner, and customer service to residents is great.
This place is not prepared for an emergency. During last week's Marshal Fire, residents were under a pre-evacuation order. -Residents were temporary stuck and unable to get their cars out of their garages due to a power outage. This could have been prevented if residents were provided with keys to their garages' emergency release chord. -The "Emergency" Maintenace phone line does not work for real emergency situations. Calls are forwarded to the voicemail. In a real emergency, all the residents will need access to their cars immediately. -Residents were unable to get help from the leasing office. The leasing office had already self evacuated (without notifying the residents that they have left). We understand that the fire was scary for everyone and the safety of everyone (including the staff) is important. But this is a very serious concern and we hope they will do a better job in the future (God forbids if there are any future emergencies.) To the leasing office: -Please please provide keys to the garages' emergency release chords in case of future power outages and emergency evacuations. -Please have a better line of communication with residents. -Please do not soley rely on the emergency maintenance line. Have a real power outage evacuation plan in place.
Property Manager at Retreat at the Flatirons, Responded To This Review
Thank you for your feedback. The recent wildfires in our area were an unpredictable and challenging occurrence. We made every effort to communicate with our residents and relayed information to them as it became available to us. Additionally, we confirm that our emergency line is fully functioning and that our service team lives onsite to assist in emergencies. Lastly, our community was not under mandatory evacuation orders at any time. If you have any further questions, please contact us at Flatirons@windsorcommunities.com.
Becoming a resident at Flat Iron Retreat has made life so simple. We are able to spend our free time enjoying the wonderful surroundings, rather than dealing with home life. Thank you to the team at Flat Iron for making our lives easier. Our dogs absolutely like the dog park too! :)
We love the Retreat staff and maintenance team! They are always a friendly face, and do the most to ensure we are happy here!
So impressed with how nice they were and accommodating so I could get my barking dog out of the house. Second time Ive called maintenance for simple little things and they always impress.
The maintenance staff was able to complete my request the next day, which usually doesn't happen. I had time contraints and requested they come at a certain time and the work was completed during that time frame so it did not interupt my schedule the rest of the weekend. I grately appreciate their efforts in accomodating my request as I know this is not always possible. They also took care of all 4 items on my list. Thank you VERY much!
Office leasing staff were great. Very accommadating. Took care of all our needs. Great job!
The office staff has been very helpful in answering our questions and the maintenance staff has been very responsive to maintenance requests.
This apartment is wildly overpriced. I will not be renewing with them next year unless they agree to lower the rent substantially.
The maintenance staff is always prompt, courteous and effective.
We love living in this community! It feels so safe and the staff is so friendly. Any questions have always been answered quickly, and the maintenance crew is the BEST. They take great care of the property and we hope it stays this way for years to come!
All of the maintenance and ground crew are excellent.
Parking situation is horrible. Definitely shouldnt take this long to fix a gate also.
We absolutely love our home here. The apartment is beautifully put together and the location is perfect for us. The community feels safe and peaceful but near convenient amenities. It is also incredibly pet friendly, which is amazing for our lifestyle. We will be staying here for the foreseeable future!
The maintenance staff and the office staff are all great! Hard workers, friendly and efficient! There respect for our personal safety is so appreciated in these difficult times.
We love living here and hope to remain for a long time. Our neighbors are friendly and the diversity is unique.
Management is awful and I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.
We got an amazing base rent price for the location and quality theres apartments have to offer! Office staff could be friendlier for sure, but the neighbors and everything else has been amazing so far!
My experience was poor all around between the lack of responses to my emergency maintenance calls, my husbands car was towed, our dog was attacked because other pets in the complex werent leashed and that policy wasnt enforced and there was a domestic violence case in our building that our leasing office refused to become involved in. The management team isnt flexible, understanding, sympathetic or involved in the issues that we have experienced.
Retreat at Flatirons has been such a wonderful living experience for us. The gated community is one that feels safe, clean and fun. Management and maintenance has always been on top of any issues, which is a huge plus. We would highly recommend Retreat at Flatirons for any type of professional.
I would be happy with my move in process, however not being able to see the place prior to signing a lease I have been VERY disappointed with the fact that no one told us there would be nonstop daily construction happening right outside of our window. This is something that absolutely should have been told to us as it would have deterred us from choosing this apartment at this price.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my quality of life here at the Retreat at Flatirons. I can honestly say I've never felt more fortunately to live in an apartment by myself during a pandemic than I have here! The neighbors are VERY friendly and patient for the most part, the community is heavenly, absolutely breathtaking views and trails to venture daily, the common areas are always clean and well-kept, well-shared also, I really can't complain about a single thing here! The staff is always helpful and friendly, their responses are usually quick and helpful, I just hope they continue to be helpful and responsive outside of remote assistance. And the maintenance team here are beyond words!! Super friendly and helpful and thorough. One member of the staff helped me take a load of heavy garbage to the dumpster, which was super nice, and another member took the time out of his day to double check that my garbage disposal worked after I placed a work order to fix it and he fixed it twice...Living here has been a blessing and I am enjoying being an active community member!
The maintenance staff are always very friendly, professional, and helpful. Any job they come to complete is always done in a timely manner and repairs are completed. They do a phenomenal job when it comes to the overall maintenance and upkeep of our entire facility! I would recommend living in this facility to anyone.
The site amentities are well maintained The staff response time and responsiveness is outstanding. They are receptive and look for solutions. The units are designed to be lived in with a lot of cabinet space and spacious closets. Additional garages are reasonably priced.
Very happy with there hard work. Thank you Keep up the good job
So far, good experience. Love the location and layout of apt.
Management isnt helpful, empathic, understanding or involved.
Retreat at Flatirons misleads prospect renters into thinking that the pool is an all season option, which it isnt. It is kept at around 75 degrees which is far too cold. It seems to be kept open during the winter time to give the illusion that it is open. This particularly irritating because it was the reason why we selected the community. Other issues are a still unresolved issue with our second key, poor response to a triggered carbon monoxide alarm, issues with all 3 toilets and better faucets (takes quite a long time to get hot water).
Very quick to fix problem. Wouldnt even know they were here except for note left, super clean.
Retreat at the flatirons was such an unexpected gem to find in Broomfield. The amount of space you get for your money is so rare in the area! Its great that the apartment itself is updated and functions well, the layout is excellent. Im very happy with my decision to live here.
Ive really enjoyed living at the Retreat! I cant rave enough about the location of the complex..its close enough to Denver and Boulder, but far enough away that you can escape the city life. I enjoy being able to see the Flatirons, and having a park next door is so convenient with my dogs! As far as the unit, it has everything we need and want (ceiling fans, double sinks, stainless appliances and a his-&-her closet!). Plus, the move-in process was very easy. I highly recommend this place!
I have enjoyed living here. Amenities are great, & staff is accommodating
Anyone looking for a apartment in the Flatirons interlocken area should check out this place staff was helpful, accommodating, and welcoming. I have lived in many places moved into many apartments that were not ready, but I has extremely satisfied with the quality of my apartment on move in day.
Parking is one of the issues I have here, I rent the car garage $140 a month but the car garage is on the other side of my apartment like 3 building a way from where I lived, I have work early morning and feel unsafe to walk that far. Also I have requested for maintenance 3 weeks ago but no response.
My Fiancé and I moved here from California and this community exceeded our expectations. The leasing office staff is very friendly, as well as the maintenance staff. The apartment itself is very modern and has a great layout. The community has a lot of great features that others did not offer. The neighborhood has minimal noise, but our neighborhood and neighbors seem friendly. We are both very pleased with our move here and plan to stay for at least three years.
Professional management and maintenance teams and a very well maintained community.
I love my apartment... i think it is beautiful but management is EXTREMELY unhelpful and even sometimes rude. I will call asking a question and never receive a follow up. When there were roommate issues.. extremely unhelpful. Car got towed... extremely unhelpful. Car got broken into and they refused to let others know to watch their vehicles. I have never lived somewhere where management just didnt care... except here.
Staff has been very helpful and kind. Maintenance is prompt and quick
I love living at Retreat at Flatirons! The staff is always so helpful and go way above and beyond to ensure tenants are satisfied. Great place to live.
Leasing office staff has been wonderful to work with. Peaceful place to live!
Retreat at the flatirons is a wonderful place to live, neighbors are quiet and respectful, the staff are friendly and it is a beautiful and pleasant complex.
I love layout of apartment! Replacing carpet would be nice! Your grounds have deteriorated a great deal since I moved in. Allowing 2 and 3 dogs is too much. Many are not interested in cleaning up after animals or have aggressive dogs....not the dogs fault!
Excellent service provided by the community. I love stay here
I Love living here. Very clean , people are friendly, great security area. I am in hopes maintenance will get better ... In understanding of COVID, requests after months still has not been addressed. Over all Im happy here.
I moved into Retreat at the Flatirons last fall and have really enjoyed being here. This is my first apartment and I couldnt have picked a better complex to settle in at! I highly recommend checking this complex out!
We still have not gotten anyone to come to service our maintenance request. We submitted it a week ago. I would at least expect an ETA, but there has been zero communication.
It's a great place. I love the environment.
It is a beautiful apartment. The location is convenient for work and my lifestyle. Always a pleasure coming home. It is my sanctuary and I am grateful and happy living here.
