I moved in this month and found a rodent running around, neighbors complaining about mold all over their apartment and my dog who i have had for 7 years developed high grade infections in his feet. The staff are very nice until you sign then they don't care about you. The dog park is unsanitary and the apartments are very poorly maintained. My shower drips when the people above me use theirs and the pipes have issues in most apartments. Its sad such a new community has so many issues. Don't move in I am ready to move out today!

I lived here for 3 years, after not living in an apartment for over 30 years. I had a great experience living here, especially enjoyed the “Salt” swimming pool and the fact the pool is open all year! Yes, not heated but there are many days in March/April & October that you can enjoy the pool area. Th grilles are a nice touch and a great “outdoor “ kitchen feel! The office staff are wonderful, the maintenance folks very responsive. My only issue is the noise from the apartment above , as you can hear every footstep and if there are children it can become very loud. Overall, a great experience, wonderful facility and very close to great shopping and bars and restaurants!

I do enjoy my living experience here. The gals in the office are great and the maintenance crew is the best! The grounds are pretty well maintained, especially around the pool area. Although (the inside) building maintenance has improved (as far as cleanliness is concerned) - the area in the elevator needs special attention. It never seems clean; the same debris remains week after week even though the center has obviously been touched with water. The stairwell often needs special attention. I think that this is important those of us who live here, but especially to visitors and their first impressions. Would I choose to live here again? I would say yes. I would like to add that the floors are not very well insulated. The noise from above is sometimes dreadful!!! furniture being moved, heavy-handed vacuuming, chairs, etc. being slid across the floor, drawers being opened and closed in the bathroom ~ would be nice if corrections could be made there and certainly in future apartments.
I truly enjoy living at the retreat, being right off I-64 makes it SO convenient to be close to Short Pump but not have to get stuck in the traffic to get to my destination. In addition, the facilities are wonderful & the property managers are also a joy to work with. Would recommend this apartment complex to anyone!
It's a very beautiful and quiet place to live. It is well maintained and the staff is very efficient and pleasant. When you need something it is taken care of either that day or the next. I absolutely love living here. When I moved here I intended it to be my forever home however, with the significant rent increases I don't know but that will be possible and that makes me very sad.
I'm generally satisfied. Only concerns are horrible noise attenuation design between floors. Also, supposed to be an energy efficient property; however, my electric bills are double here than what they were at my old low-energy efficient apartment.
It's a quiet community. Plenty of parking. Many amenities. Staff are attentive to issues.
Love living here for the most part, dog park is disgusting and the rent increases are ridiculous. Been here 3 years.

Overall, nice quiet place to live. One suggestion to improve, we could use some better lighting in the parking areas on the side of buildings (8000-10000). Staff is friendly with the interactions I?ve had. Maintence team is AMAZING, top notch!!
It's a nice apartment. I like the location of the complex, and where my apartment is located in my building. However, it is not what I would consider a luxury apartment - dishwasher is a basic model and loud, the stove is a basic model, the the refrigerator is fairly small and nothing special. Both bathrooms have only 1 towel rack located above the toilet. There should be one right by the tub in the master. I was told if I bought one someone would install it. I was also wondering why there were no safety handles in either bathroom. This apartment is located in a good place for senior citizens, but is not outfitted properly for seniors.

Customer service and maintenance has always been very helpful and quick to respond. Walls/floors seem a bit thin but noise is to be expected. I wish all the spiderwebs in the summer that build up in the halls and stairways would be cleaned up as part of the monthly pest control each tenant pays.

I have been here almost 4 years. Moved in a brand new apartment and I have loved every minute of it. The apartment is equipped with everything I need and we are close to everything. The grounds are kept well and property neat and safe.

I love it the only thing that is wrong is the people facing the woods there is no lights back there and it gets really dark back there and the steps to go to your screen house needs to be different than what they are now someone already fell on them but that is the only thing I see wrong other than that I love my new home
I have lived here for almost a year, and am so glad that I found this place. I have lived in 3 different apartments since moving to Richmond, and this is the best. The maintenance guys are great and the pool is awesome. They have monthly events, which almost always involve food, and they are free! I would certainly recommend for anyone to live here!
YOU WILL HEAR EVERYTHING YOUR NEIGHBOR DOES. IF THEY SNEEZE GUESS WHAT YOULL HEAR IT! Looks great from outside, but you will hear every step your neighbor takes unless on top floor which will just be as noisy from the outside. You are basically paying for luxury when they are by FAR not worth their ridiculous rates.

I currently live here, and they have roaches. I called the front office and they said they wouldn't be able to get out here until the following Tuesday, which was over a week away. They refused to come out despite that I found three roaches in my apartment! Mind you, I am an extremely clean person, so the idea of roaches absolutely gives me the creeps! I personally have never had to deal with roaches because I try to maintain my space as clean as possible. Three in one week is three too many for me! They didn't even care or apologize! I talked to some of my neighbors in another building who experienced the same issue. Also the walls are paper thin. The apartments look really nice cosmetically, but the foundation and structure is absolutely horrible. I can hear my neighbors when they walk. All. The. Time. What good does crown molding and nice paint do if the walls are paper thin? The floors are NOT HARDWOOD by the way, its a laminate that buckles and welts when even slightly wet. These apartments are basically like paying for a really nice looking car when the motor is shot- not worth the money. If I could go back in time, I would have chosen the Avia 100 times over again.

We are currently living at the retreat at West Creek. On the plus side: Convenient to lots of stuff at Short Pump, good places to walk the dogs, pretty nice kitchen. Management team is nice, albeit not effective at problem solving. On the down side: They are fairly poorly constructed, as it is really noisy. Not much you can do about some of that, but we have had a chronic issue with the resident right below us who plays his surround sound stereo at all hours. Initially management was responsive to our concerns, but they haven't been effective at making the situation change. They ask us to let them know when we hear it, but then chastise us when they don't feel it's excessive. And just to be clear, it can be so loud that the furniture actually vibrates. We are leaving in a month or so thankfully, but I already feel badly for the person who rents this apartment next. Outside of this ongoing noise, other noises travel pretty easily - much louder than a normal hotel room noise, for example.

Renters beware - Make sure that on your walk through inspection upon move in you have management pull up all the carpet so that you can see the back of the carpet. Apparently, carpet stains that might have happened that do not show or were cleaned are NOT considered Normal Wear and Tear. Normal Wear and Tear apparently is a vague term and can be used as a way to charge one on move out. Carpet that is not even 2 years old, yet being replaced instead of being cleaned-how unusual. Management companies are always looking for a way to pass costs on to their tenants and apparently this is happening here. Pull up and completely replace carpet instead of cleaning and then charging the tenant for replacement...Take plenty of pictures of the back of your carpet. Eric, the property manager lacks professionalism and although he insists that he is well aware of Virginia Landlord Tenant Laws,
Picture this..surrounded by luscious woods, friendly neighbors, access to the finest retail stores in minutes, courteous staff, fabulous pool, lodge-like clubhouse, state of the art fitness center, walking trails, dog park, car care center, spacious split floor plan and huge balcony where I relax and enjoy a glass of wine while watching the breathtaking sunset..now that's my apartment! Peaceful, beautiful, a place where you just can't wait until the work day is over. From the moment you open the door, walk to the balcony and just take in the wooded view every muscle immediately relaxes and feels as if on vacation. That's my charming apartment.
My building is nestled against a backdrop of woods while the finest shops are only a few miles away. It has the ambience of a lodge snuggled deep in the forest. The neighbor are so friendly, the leasing staff the absolute best and always on call whenever needed. The amenities are the finest in the area. I can't wait until the end of the day to come home each day. I go to my third floor balcony, take a deep breath and say, "Ah,this is truly a place I can call home."
Residents here are wonderful. Pool is beautiful and the apartments are aesthetically pleasing. However, they are poorly made, and the gym is poorly maintained. New management is condescending and not solution oriented. It takes a long time to have things fixed. Lease does not favor renters.
The property is beautiful & the management is very nice. Management knows you by name & the pool area is the best around. They have wonderful parties like pool parties & a weekly Wine Night. There are no bugs and the location is perfect! Seconds from short pump yet far enough away so it is out of traffic. However, walls & ceiling are super super thin! Up until 2 weeks prior to my move in date they led me to believe my place would be ready. The move in date was pushed back by MONTHS! They mislead me. The units are not move in ready. Repairs were not complete upon move in & were not completed after move in. There is only one trash compacter & no dumpsters which is inconvenient. Again, the place is OK. The noise is the biggest problem.
This place may be beautiful from the outside but be prepared to hear EVERY single thing your neighbors are doing at all times from all directions. Truly miserable.
