Conveniently located for me and love the interior look with the high ceilings and big windows. Easy to grab a bite at the restaurants on the property too. Like the events the office people do. Fun place to live!

Revolution Mills advertises itself as a luxury, historical building. Luxury is furthest from the truth. You will never have peace ever, no matter if you live on the 2nd or 1st floor. If you live on the 2nd floor, you will hear everything your downstairs neighbor does, and I mean everything. If you work from home, you will never be able to concentrate. The management claims they can’t insulate the 1st and 2nd floors in order to maintain the original flooring. Even if that is true, it is a health violation. 1st floor tenants often complain of liquid from the upstairs seeping thru to the bottom floor. The rent here is as if you are living in a large metropolitan area, and not Greensboro. It’s not worth the rent at all- do yourself a favor and find a normal, non aesthetic apartment for almost half the cost.
This apartment complex looks beautiful on the surface but fails to live up to meeting even the most basic expectations for an apartment complex. First off, many of the reviews you find online are not from residents. They are from people who have simply visited the space. The noise here is awful. I hear way too much of what is going in in my neighbor's apartment. I can hear the phone conversations of the upstairs neighbor clearly and can even sometimes hear the other person on the line. I also hear my upstairs neighbor having sex. Not just the sounds of the act but also the words being said. It's as if they are in the same room as me. The worst part of the noise are the footsteps. There is no insulation between the top and bottom floors. So my ceiling is literally their floor. I am woken up most mornings simply by the footsteps of the upstairs neighbor on the wood floor. I want to point out that my neighbors are not being particularly loud. Rather, it's the poor design of the apartment that makes even regular level conversations easily heard in other apartments. I can't imagine how awful it would be if I actually had loud or inconsiderate neighbors. Additionally there is often construction going on at the mill as well as an events center. I can easily be still asleep in bed in the early morning hours and be awoken by power tools as early as 7:20am. I have lived in 5 different apartment complexes over a 20 year period and as nice as Revolution Mill appears on the outside, I've had more issues and more maintenance requests at this complex than the four previous apartments. Another major issue that one should be warned about is that any spills from the 2nd floor apartments rain down on the first floor residents. Again, because there is no insulation between floors, any spill, water, kool-aid, wine, will end up on your personal belongings. The apartment management simply says that this is just how it is and doesn't take any steps to remedy this or even warn residents on the top floor to be careful not to spill! The truth about living at Revolution Mill is that it appears beautiful on the outside but a resident shouldn't pay one of the highest rents in Greensboro and have to deal with these issues on a regular basis. If you choose to live here, be warned and DEFINITELY DO NOT GET A FIRST FLOOR APARTMENT!!!!
I have loved living in a beautiful space but can't wait to leave and feel it was a major mistake. The noise is a big issue, you will hear everything above or below you - the dog baking down the hall, neighbors talking, the tv program next door. I can hear my upstairs neighbors phone ring, I can hear her conversations. I would not recommend this apartment until they address the noise issue which so far they have ignored. They have same pet fee for cats and dogs, I really don't think my cat should be charged the same as big dogs that are a big problem here. When I walk down the hall to the mail boxes, I setoff a whole bunch of dogs who are left alone and clearly are right behind the doors barking at anything that passes. I am sure driving their neighbors crazy. The blinds the apartments come with can be seen through at night, I do not like feeling I can be seen while in bed or watching tv. The security system breaks and several times I have not been able to get into the building... which means not being able to get to my apartment. Another situation/conflict I had was when the smoke detector alarm went off at 11pm and I was told it was not an emergency - I felt a screaming alarm in a small space going off was an emergency. The repair person when I finally got on phone was argumentative and rude. To be fair, I have asked to leave a lease a month early due to possible job offer out of Greensboro, they were unwilling to work with me. I know that is their legal right and I am powerless and just feel they are more interested in milking the tenants than working with me. Another thing they don't really explain but I found out after calling the city water because I kept smelling an order from my bathroom sink when I was running the cold water. The woman explained that Revolution Mills has its own water source and it is miles away. I wanted to really like it here, it is beautiful but not worth the dealing with noise issue.
