The second largest city in Michigan, Grand Rapids rests on the Grand River, about 30 miles east of Lake Michigan. Formerly known as the Furniture City, Grand Rapids is now nicknamed the River City as well as Beer City USA for its riverside locale and proximity to 40 craft breweries. Grand Rapids is also the hometown of former United States President Gerald Ford. Fans of the 38th president can learn more about his life and impact on American history at the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum.
Notable as an artistic haven, Grand Rapids hosts the annual ArtPrize competition, a 19-day affair drawing hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city and featuring artwork all throughout Downtown Grand Rapids. Frederik Meijer Gardens exhibits an expansive variety of sculptures and gardens both indoors and outdoors. Meyer May House is revered as one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s architectural masterpieces.

Property Ratings at Richmond Hills Apartments
My boyfriend and I have been living at Richmond Hills for 2 years and we love it! It is in the perfect location, it is very peaceful but only a 5 minute drive to Alpine!
Property Manager at Richmond Hills Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us such a kind review! We love our community here at Richmond Hills and we are so happy to hear that you do too. :) - Richmond Hills Management
I've lived at Richmond Hills Apartments for 2 years. The staff are incredibly nice and helpful. Rissa is the property manager and she is so efficient and kind. The property is always clean and well maintained. The complex is notorious for being pet-friendly. All of the residents are wonderful - I know nearly everyone in my section of my building. I will say, the rent is quite high for what you are getting. It is an old building with some questionable patch/paint jobs, and the unit I'm in is very small (550 sq ft). BUT I've never had any issues with maintenance and I see that they are putting their revenue back into the complex (roofing, power washing, new washer/dryers, etc.). Management and maintenance are quick in response and action when you need them - which was only a few times for me. The location is very nice as well. The complex is tucked in a quiet neighborhood. There is a Meijer 5 minutes away, and an Aldi and Walmart 15 minutes away. It's a 10 minute drive to downtown Grand Rapids. Very close to the expressways. Most importantly, I've never felt unsafe while living here - which was my main priority when trying to find an apartment close to downtown. I would highly recommend Richmond Hills Apartments to anyone looking to find a safe, quiet, and (relatively) affordable apartment near downtown Grand Rapids. My cat, Mango, really likes the place too :)
I love living here! I have never had such friendly and responsive office and maintenance staff at any place I have lived before moving to Richmond. The girls in the office genuinely care about everyone who lives here and knows everyone by name (and of course the pets). Any time I have a concern or maintenance request, it is addressed amazingly fast. This community authentically feels like a home. <3
When I moved in the apartment was very clean and free from any issues. The staff was really nice also, including the maintenance guy. I also liked how spacious it was for being a 1 bedroom, lots of storage spots too. I only have two complaints. The first is that I do hear my neighbors more than I would like to. The second is that my apartment gets a bit stuffy unless I open my window.
Property is kept up-to-date, always working, maintenance responds quickly, and the leasing office people are always nice and give gift baskets and such.
So far I have been happy with my stay here. Any issues I have had have been resolved quickly and appropriately. The move in process was simple.
I love living here. It is quiet both in terms of location and with other residents. The leasing and maintenance staff are also wonderful, and I love all the dogs!
My husband and I moved in about 4 months ago and we absolutely love living in Richmond Hills Apartments. We love the location — there is tons of green space and walking trails all around. It is also tucked into a cute neighborhood and feels very homey! We are so happy beginning our marriage here :)
I love living here. Its very woodsy, quiet, clean and peaceful. I enjoy the nearby trails. My apartment is cozy and I haven't needed maintenance since I've been here. The ladies at the office are professional and kind.
This apartment complex is great. I love how it is tucked back off a main road and you have your own gym and pool in the summer time. They keep it super clean and we have enjoyed living here. They are updating their office and it looks really nice. We are also impressed with the matinence and how often they keep up with landscaping. My favorite part is the location. Right by all the necessities of Alpine and not to far from downtown. 5/5 stars.
I haven’t been living here that long but I love it so much. The location is great, good price for rent, walking trails, dog park, pool. All the employees I’ve had to talk to are super nice and easy to work with! I definitely would recommend
I have been at Richmond Hills for a year now and I have 0 complaints. The girls at the office are super friendly and helpful especially Nicole. Coming from out of state when I moved in with my 1 year old, she was SUPER helpful in walking me through the process over email and accommodating my times and circumstances when I flew in town. The complex is SUPER quiet even though most people around me have dogs! My daughter loves to be able to walk out of our slider and have access to the huge green grass space out back and the view of the woods is beautiful. I love that there is a gym and trails and a dog park even though I dont have a dog, its so nice that they have one for the residents who do. If you have a maintenance request it is taken care of quickly & they even will suggest things to fix the issues if its going to cost extra which I as a single mom appreciated that SO MUCH. I can see myself here for a while. Thank you Richmond Hills Staff for making my transition to being a single mom so much easier
I just moved in here two weeks ago and I already love it and can see myself here for a long time. I feel very safe here and the people are so friendly, including the amazing office staff! Added bonuses are the outdoor areas and pool and all the cool trails in the woods. Highly recommend this place!
Where else can you be so close to downtown life but nestled in a quite area? NO WHERE! we have lived here for a little over 2 years. We really enjoyed the beautiful pool in the summers, the trails leading to the local park in the fall and all around the area. They are in a super quite area near Alpine. I've lived in apartments most of my adult life and I gotta say besides living in a sky rise in Chicago....Richmond Hills is one of the better apartment complex's I have lived in. Not only is the staff super friendly and GOOD at what they do, they respect and actually care about the grounds and property unlike other managements I have seen. If people are getting fined.. they probably deserved it because from what I have seen and heard the property manager and front desk women are awesome to work with. My apartment is beautifully updated with a big walk in closest (YES!). If I wasn't buying a house i'd live here another 2 years. I'm going to miss the staff and how diligent and hard they worked to make sure I was satisfied. Thank you Richmond Hills staff for truly making this into my home for 2 years.
Living here has been fantastic. Enjoyed the location and the apartments. I moved in recently and had some appliances not working. Seth the maintenance person came right away to fix the problem. Good apartment And an appropriate price for what's around the area.
Property Manager at Richmond Hills Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you so much for your kind words!!! We do appreciate Seth very much along with all of our maintenance staff.
Private dog park and literally MILES of open walking trails following a river right behind the apts. Staff is super friendly and have been making huge improvements since new ownership in early 2015. 1 and 2 bedroom apts recently upgraded and incredibly quiet. Rent is very fair for what this place offers young dog owners like us.
