Eleven miles northwest of Philadelphia, Roxborough’s convenient locale provides residents easy accessibility to city attractions in a charming, yet modern neighborhood.
Prior to the 1854 Act of Consolidation, most of Roxborough was part of the Roxborough Township. The area was a thriving and successful textile mill, which helped fund many of the community’s schools and parks during that time.
Nestled between the Schuylkill River and Wissahickon Valley Park, there’s plenty of natural green space and settings to go around. Locals enjoy fishing for trout at the park, and going on evening walks at the Manayunk Canal in their free time. Many delicious and trendy restaurants encompass Ridge Avenue – but a popular, no-frills eatery is Dalessandro’s Steak, a cheesesteak shop by the Walnut Lane Golf Course.
Residents are comforted by their direct access to Interstate 76, SEPTA bus and rail services, and Thomas Jefferson University East Falls Campus.

Property Ratings at Ridge Carlton Apartments
Management doesn't care about the residents concerns. They call themselves "pet-friendly" but do everything possible to be the opposite of that!
This is a quite place to live. I honestly hardly even see people walking around and never hear my neighbors stomping around. There were a few initial issues when I moved in which I think should have been taken care of prior. I have found several large roachs, but they have had the exterminator come. Overall everything is nice and will hopefully only get better. I heard they are adding grills and cabanas. Just wish we didnt have to pay rent to have a cat :(
I have been here four years. The management and staff have been doing an amazing job of upgrading and fixing the place up. Given Ridge Carltons perfect location I plan on staying for years to come.
Love the maintenance staff and the new staff in the office, they really take the time out to make sure all their residents needs are fully met, and the new upgrades are amazing.
Moved in a little over three months ago and I love the development of this property. Between the upgraded community room, the painting that is taken place right now and the new staff I can see myself living here for quite some time. Any issue that has came up with my apartment the wonderful maintenance staff always takes care of it right away, I would recommend this place to anyone that is in the market for a new home.
obviously the previous reviews were written by people who don`t live here. the real truth about RC is the building is old as crap and needs to be completely done over. paint & patch work is not working. The walls are super thin, cockroaches the size of surfboards, mice, and drafty windows. The noise is unbearable from SOME of the tenants at times and the smell marijuana is every where. Ive lived here for 5 years and the best part of this place is the over worked maintenance staff who are holding this place together. The new jokers in the office are ridiculously uninformed about everything and could care less about tenants.
In Philadelphia, you won't find better than Ridge Carlton Apartments! It's affordable and so safe! The last apartment I rented in Philadelphia was broken into - twice! I was pretty scared as a single woman, living alone. I didn't want roommates, but I didn't know what else to do to feel safe. Ridge Carlton Apartments to the rescue! This community is so quiet and so friendly, I felt safe and looked after immediately. Their office staff is friendly, accommodating, and knowledgeable. The complex is well maintained and although some aspects are a little dated, you will not find a better, more efficient management company and complex in this very affordable price range.
The ridge Carlton is nice as an apartment complex, albeit not new. All appliances work but are not new. The complex seemed to paint and freshly clean carpets between tenants.
