About 40 miles north of Dallas and Fort Worth, Denton is an energetic, progressive community in the heart of the DFW Metro. Even by Texas standards, Denton is booming – it is one of the nation’s fastest growing communities. It’s a college town, home to the University of North Texas and Texas Woman’s University, but it’s also a hub for business and tourism, located near Lewisville Lake and only a few minutes south of Ray Roberts Lake.
The 35 Denton Music Festival and Denton Arts and Jazz Festival are both signature events with great tunes and dancing. You’ll find tons of things to experience in this suburban city. Spend your days at nearby Lewisville Lake or shop the stores at Golden Triangle Mall.
Local restaurants thrive in the downtown area, like LSA Burger Co. With its unique burgers, rooftop patio bar, and live bands, this Lone Star Attitude-inspired eatery offers a true Texas atmosphere.

Property Ratings at Ridgecrest
i’ve lived here for 3 years and the quality goes down exponentially each year. no one answers the phone in the office (and their “emergency maintenance line” is the same as their office phone, meaning that no one answers it either) every year i’ve lived here the air conditioning goes out on the first hot day of the year and every single time it has taken maintenance over a week to fix it, even in the middle of historic heat waves. and then, they will claim it has been fixed with no explanation of how, and the problem continues until you can eventually get ahold of someone to come back out and actually do something. office staff is rude and do not seem to care that these are peoples homes, not just a source of revenue. you will never know how much your monthly rent is, as they stack all sorts of unspoken fees onto your bill every month (that are not outlined when they go over pricing as a prospective tenant) that adds $50-$60 dollars on top of your regular rent. there were also two people murdered in the parking lot a few months ago, and not a word from management about it/ no safety measures implemented. in the summer you will have troubles with ants and flies getting into the unit no matter how diligent you are about keeping things clean, the buildings are poorly insulated, freezing in the winter sweltering in the summer (on top of the annual AC issue). save yourself the trouble and find somewhere worth the exorbitant amount that they are charging for this dump.
The office staff are really good people here. Every maintenance issue has been quickly taken care of within hours of my call. They are all easy going hard working regular folks. There is plenty of parking even if you are visiting. We just got an Amazon hub as well. Close to Denton, UNT, and NCTC. Also plenty of places to shop and eat. I Love it!

We really appreciate the positive star rating! Enjoy your stay with us!
Maybe the original Ridgecrest Apartments are livable. But the Ridgecrest II - formerly La Colina apartments - are completely unlivable. We stayed there 5 years but were treated like crap. Here are some of the highlights: ***The roof collapsed with water THREE TIMES.*** - All 3 times, management took up to 2 weeks to fix it. During those 2 weeks, we had to put all of our furniture into one of the bedrooms. We were down 2 rooms, and only had the kitchen and second bedroom to live in. Management refused any kind of rent reduction since we were paying for half a place we couldn't use. - When maintenance were not willing to come out to fix it, we bought our own disposable dam to soak up the water and minimize the damage to the floor. Maintenance came and threw it out into the rain, where it expanded to be completely useless. Management refused to repay for our property that Maintenance wasted. ***Maintenance took down the fence between us and the office complex*** - it took 2 months to replace the fence - during that time, there were PILES and PILES of old, disgusting trash along the grass and over the sidewalk. - I had to call three times to get maintenance to pick this up. We lived in trash for 10 days. ***Roofers left construction tools out*** - broken boards, rugs, tools, and nails everywhere - My husband stepped on a nail and it went through his shoe. Guess if Management paid for the doctor bill? - My toddler could literally not even go outside without being carried at all times. ***THE GOO*** - There was a slick oily goo that oozed out from behind the office complex, and stayed in a permanently wet gooey splotch over the sidewalk. - Management said it was the office buildings' and so it was there responsibility. - a week after I gave birth, I slipped and almost fell while holding my newborn son - I tried multiple times to place cardboard or wooden slats over the spill so I could cross safely. Each time, it was picked up by maintenance within a day. - I called multiple times about this issue. After 3 years of calling, they placed a little black border around the sidewalk.

I've lived here for a year now my lease will soon expire and I will not be renewing. Walls and floors are thin so you can hear every little movement from your neighbors. Then there's pest control that you pay for in your contract. Not once have I seen anyone spraying around or setting up traps and the apartments are FILLED with little black ants and roaches. It isn't too bad in the winter but this past summer I could not even leave fruit out without a swarm of black ants on my counter tops. Now that it's winter they're gone but the mice have moved into your patio, so there's that. Appliances are outdated, the water heater does whatever it wants so one second you're taking a shower in your preferred temp and then the next your skin is boiling off or being froze off. The gym isnt free and the equipment is outdated and some are broken! The only redeeming quality is the pool but you only use it for 3 months of the year. All I'm saying is, for the same price or $100 more you could find higher end apartments that offer better amenities and appliances without charging you extra for an "appliance package". I wouldn't even recommend this place as a starter apartment.

Hi, we truly appreciate your honest feedback. Here at Ridgecrest Apartments, we are always looking for ways to improve; we appreciate your input. If you would be willing, we would like to have you contact our manager (940) 566-0135. Thank you.
It was generally a nice place to live, but they will try to screw you over at the time of moving out. All I can say is make sure you get a copy of your contract! If their employees make a mistake it will fall on your shoulders and not theirs!

Hi, thank you for taking the time to let us know how we can improve. If you ever have further questions please contact us at (940) 566-0135 so we can assist you. Thank you and we hope you have a great day.
I wasn’t sure if I was going to write this or not but having the office blow us off after we scheduled a move out walk through has made me want to write this. Some background: when we moved in, January of 2014, it was under a different property management and ownership and it was called La Colina. Since then it’s changed hands several times and when we moved out in April of 2017 we were Ridgecrest II (our floorplan was the Kingston). We did break our lease because my husband is in the Army and they stationed us elsewhere. Pros: -close to the highway with easy access to it -you can use both pools (which was great because one pool is heavily shaded which means I didn’t have to argue with my toddler to put on more sunscreen -walking distance to Brookshire’s, Applebee’s, KFC, 7/11 -walls and windows are fairly thick; only ever heard neighbors when they were coming up the stairs, argued loudly, or were rowdy on their porch -grounds are better kept than when we first moved in; I’ve seen people walking around picking up trash, they have added more shrubs, and there seems to be less poop -neighbors where we lived were friendly -the apartments in Ridgecreat II have all new siding and some have new porches and balcony railing replaced -within walking distance to a UNT/city bus stop -the route to downtown is quick and easy -generally the apartment office staff was pleasant to work with Cons: -parking sucks and the spots you can reserve are expensive -can never get them on the phone -maintenance is slow but does an above par job; one guy was a jerk but I think he’s moved on -our apartment didn’t have a microwave -no pantry -dryer vent was always clogged and we used so much energy trying to dry our clothes -maintenance guys will pull out in front of you and block your way trying to get thru the parking lot -price has gone way up since we moved in
I have lived here for two years and haven't had many problems. I have only had one problem while living here. I needed to have my toilet fixed and they never fixed it. It just runs all the time. Other than that, the apartment is great. It is clean and kept up nicely. There are tons of trees and nice sidewalks that go through the complex. Perfect for walking your dog. So, overall it's a nice place to live, especially while you are in college.
We have lived at Ridgecrest for a year. Most of the people are nice, but they are very young (college age). So this apartment complex has a lot of college problems. The apartments themselves are old, but liveable. The management is getting a lot better with some new hires. Before it took them FOREVER to do anything. We are moving after a year because of neighbors, and they raised the rent. We didn't think our apartment was worth what they wanted to charge. Ours is without the upgrades. Overall this place isn't the nicest property you are going to find, but it is liveable.
