Incorporating much of the Genesee Recreation Area, the Northeast Flint/Beecher/Genesee neighborhood offers many fun outdoor activities, including beach-going, fishing, and boating. Visit Crossroads Village to see what life was like at the turn of the 20th century, and take a ride behind a steam engine on the Huckleberry Railroad. Paintball enthusiasts love CRU Paintball's indoor and outdoor fields, and the haunted house they put on in October is spooky fun. The McCree Theater celebrates the area's cultural history with plays, musicals, and professional concerts and features a folk art gallery as well. Just eight miles from downtown Flint, the apartments in this neighborhood make commuting to work easy.
For dinner, residents like to stop by Laredo's Mexican Restaurant for some char-grilled fajitas or chicken poblano, while Starlite Coney Island, open since 1966, serves up a retro diner experience complete with patty melts and country-fried steak.

Property Ratings at Ridgecrest Village
First, let me start by saying that Ridgecrest is a good housing company. I believe there are many locations of Ridgecrest nation-wide. I live at the one in Flint, Michigan off of Carpenter Road. It's an alright place to stay as a transition for people low on income trying to save money and move to somewhere better, or for students or teens or adolescents just moving out of their parents house and trying to get an experience. I wouldn't dare make this home forever, though. The maintenance crew keeps up on this place seemingly on a daily basis which is both a curse and a blessing. It is good that they want to keep this place looking nice but you get really annoyed with all the constant noisy yard work. When I first moved here in April, everything seemed quality and comfortable: new carpet, new tiling maybe, fresh coat of paint on all the walls, freshly painted and refinished basement. It smelled clean and nice and felt like home. The paint in the basement is now ruined and peeled and scraped off dude to poor insulation in the basement which allowed for rain runoff to seep into my basement. The rain runoff had been sitting in my basement for God knows how long because the basement drain (which is supposed to be reliable for an incident such as) was clogged up with black mold that actually surfaced out of the drain when activated by the water. The black mold was also sitting there eating the paint off my basement floor with the rain runoff. Other than them poorly and improperly handling my basement before renting to me, trying to kill me with black mold, installing my cabinet and closet doors backwards and driving me more insane than I actually am with all the constant yard work, it's a nice place to stay. Oh, and they also just walk up into your house and start inspections. I don't appreciate the complex inspecting my house. If you're renting to someone, give them their privacy and drill them about what they broke when their lease is up. Am I right? Anyway, that is just my experience. The complex over all is a fine place to stay but only if you are used to the area of East Side Flint. Good luck
