Positioned along the Tennessee River just minutes north of the Georgia state line, Chattanooga is a city of rich history, gorgeous scenery, and heaps of southern hospitality. Downtown and the neighboring Southside district form the urban core of the community, with many of the city’s best venues for dining, nightlife, and entertainment found within a couple of blocks of Market Street in this area.
The local museum scene is expansive, and ranges from traditional institutions like the Hunter Museum of American Art to more unique and peculiar attractions like the International Towing and Recovery Hall of Fame and Museum. The Tennessee Aquarium is a local favorite as well, featuring huge exhibits of freshwater and marine animals.
The city is surrounded by thousands of acres of Tennessee’s unspoiled natural beauty, offering endless opportunities for hiking, rock climbing, camping, and mountain biking, or just exploring and sightseeing in general.

Property Ratings at Ridgemont at Stringers Ridge
Stringers ridge is a great location, close to downtown and an awesome hiking path.
Unless you are in dire financial or time constraints, I would not recommend this location in the state is it now. Housing quality for health and quality of life purposes are quite bad and management organization and communication are non existant.
Very quiet, very peaceful. Pool and gym are great. No vandalism or petty crime. Barking is at a minimum for dogs. Plenty of green space!
I’m glad we were recommended to Ridgemont Apartments. It has been a great place to call our home!
I’m an incoming fellow at Erlanger hospital. The region of the city these apartments are located in came highly recommended. Casey, the apartment manager, is fantastic! I toured and signed for the apartment virtually and have had a seamless transition moving in.
Ridgemont at Stringers Ridge is a great complex that is affordable and comes with a lot of high quality amenities.
Leasing office is awesome, the gym is nice, and I overall enjoy the place- I really do
Ridgemont has been a nice community to live in and the location is great!
The location feels secluded, but it’s within a 20 minute drive to anything you could ever need. Great view from the balcony. It’s very quiet; I rarely hear any of my neighbors. Plenty of parking and amenities. It’s very dog friendly, with a dog park and hiking trails.
So much to love at Ridgemont -- Casey and his management team are friendly, professional. The trailhead for Stringer's Ridge park/trails is adjacent to our parking lot. And all new appliances in my unit, including the washer/dryer. Very happy here!
Very easy to deal with, convenient location. Michelle was great and very reasonable. Very pleased
This is one of the best complexes I have lived in. Management is very attentive and quick response on maintenance. Kathy N.
I don’t think these apartments are worth the price. Nice apartments but some cabinets look like they were painted vs updated. The office staff is MUCH better than last year and friendly. I love the convenience of being close to Northshore. Pretty safe neighborhood and quiet for the most part. The walls are a bit thin to me and I can hear my neighbor. Overall good experience but definitely overpriced
They staff is very helpful and kind. They gave me all the information I needed. I was warmly greeted upon arrival by the office staff and that made me feel really good. The prices are very reasonable considering being close to downtown.
Wow! Really amazing team of people with a great apartment in a great location!!
Not good so far. The maintenance team sucks. The leasing office will tell you things to make it look as if they care and then do nothing. It took almost 2 months for my daughters repairs to be handled! Lauryn In the office claims she walked the apartment before they got the keys: we enter the apartment the smoke detector is beeping from needing batteries. The ceiling fans were crooked , light bulbs missing. The flooring was coming apart in different sections! Horrible experience
I really love this place ,the environment is clean and well maintained,For any issues the management is prompt!!
Ridgemont is a very quiet peaceful residential living experience.
Management is nice, the property is nice, I'm sure everyone else has the correct dryness and use of all their floor space but I never had that luxury here at all.
We have been living here since September 2017 and have enjoyed the experience. All the staff are friendly and always helpful with any questions or concerns that we have had.
I absolutely love it here. Great staff, community and atmosphere at a great price!
Friendly office staff, responsive maintance to emergencies, good appartment layouts, pet friendly, great location, affordable
So far all of my maintenance requests have been resolved within 24 hours of submission.
The leasing and management staff went above and beyond to make sure my move in went smoothly. I love how convenient but quiet it is. My dog Jasper and I love all the pet friendly amenities.

Place is very nice since the renovation. Recently moved in and everything is clean, new appliances, decent flooring, nice fireplace, quality fixtures. Had an issue with our fridge and maintenance took care of it within hours. I havent experienced anything other reviewers complain of, it has been a good experience so far. Only downside is that popcorn ceilings are kind of a pet peeve lol.

The most recent problem is that I tried to pay rent online, but the website was not working. I have had this problem before and they said that they could not help because it's not their website, that they just pay to use it. So, I was SHOCKED when I got over $100 late fee which they refuse to wave. So now I have paid over $100 for something that I could not control. Which brings me to my next point... the management. In my 7 months of living here they have not helped me with ANY issue I have had. In fact, they usually just treat me like a child. I guess being in college makes you less than an adult...? It is quite frustrating to have someone be demeaning to you anytime you try to talk to them. All in all, this place is old as dirt and way overpriced. Look around at other websites because there are apartments for the same price as Ridgemont that are 30 years newer. Unless you enjoy taking cold showers and sleeping with bugs, then Ridgemont is the place for you! I only signed an 8-month lease and I will still be moving out before it’s over.
If you like leaks, cigarette smells when you shower, mold everywhere, incompetence, dog poop, disregard and ignorance, I have a place for you! I don't know for sure, but I think bamboo shoots under your fingernails would be a more enjoyable experience than living here. But the doors have been painted. Yay!
My roommate and I have loved living here for the past almost year and we were excited to renew our lease. Sadly the new property company that bought the property in the past few months has been very rude and wants to raise the price for the EXACT SAME APARTMENT. We have always been early paying rent and have taken care of our apartment. Elmington properties was a pleasure to work with when they owned Ridgemont. So far timberland and the new staff here has been nothing but unhelpful and willing to work with us. Having good tenants and not wanting to keep them is very bad business. I asked if we could renew and the lady in the office just told us that there would be a 6-8% price increase (I guess they think painting the outside of the building constitutes raising rent that much) for the exact same apartment. When I told her we would not be renewing if we had to pay more to live in the exact same apartment, all she had to say was “turn in your notice as soon as possible then.” Terrible customer service on your all’s part and you just lost tenants that had been here for a year and wanted to stay.
Currently living in a 2 bed/2 bath apartment at Ridgemont. I've lived here two years and it meets mine and my roommate's needs nearly perfectly. Both bedrooms have an attached bathroom, which is convenient in a situation like ours where there's no "guest" bedroom. Every apartment comes with a patio and outdoor closet as well. Compared to other apartments we looked at in the area, Ridgemont definitely has the best "bang" for your buck when it comes to the price per number of rooms/bathrooms. The pet fee was one-time and much lower than other apartments we looked at as well, and there's plenty of places to walk our dog, including a dog park on the property! The office staff is friendly and always remembers our names, maintenance comes when you call them, and the location is great--less than five minutes from downtown Chattanooga, but still in a quiet neighborhood. The only downside we really have is the limited storage space in the pantry/kitchen, which in fairness is something we noticed when we initially toured the apartment and decided we could live with. Overall Ridgemont is a great place to live and I would recommend it (and have!) to anyone.
Ridgemont is only a short drive away from all that Chattanooga has to offer. It's about a 10 minute commute to UTC and that's a lot closer than several other apartments my roommate & I looked at! Staff is easy to get along with and maintenance always responds within 24 hours of a work order (Emergency maintenance is offered). The buildings are well maintained and the walls aren't super thin.
