Property Ratings at Ridgewood Commons
We've lived here for two years and have never experienced any problems with how the building is managed. After living in many different apartment buildings from Brooklyn to Jersey City, our time in South Orange is made much more enjoyable by having a competent, kind and caring management team in place.
I have enjoyed living at Ridgewood Commons since 2008. Not only is it a great community of residents but extremely responsive to everyone needs. I have had such a great experience I moved within the building from a studio to a one bedroom which the management fully renovated before I moved in. It's great to live in a place where you are part of the family.
I have lived in this great building for 6 years. It is extremely well maintained. All common areas are regularly cleaned. Necessary repairs are made promptly. The apartments are spacious and unique in this day and age of small, cookie cutter apartments. The building is small enough so that you really can get to know your neighbors. Many residents are long term tenants, which speaks to the quality of the building and its management. I love living here.
I've lived in the Ridgewood Commons for more than five years now. Not only is it a wonderful building to live in -- extremely well maintained inside and out; the apartments are amazing: large, light, quiet, great closets, very high ceilings with original moldings and built-in's, and with a number of them having sunken living rooms -- but it's a wonderful community to live in. When I sold my house and decided to move into an apartment building, I was so concerned about giving up my neighborhood. I found an equally caring neighborhood in the Ridgewood Commons, one where people know their neighbors' names and look out for each other. In addition, the building management is extremely responsive and accessible. There's a reason why a number of tenants have lived here for decades and the majority of others are long term, with no plans to leave (including myself). But -- don't just take my word for it. Come look at the building, meet the manager and take a tour, and speak with the residents. I don't have a single doubt that you will want to fill out an application immediately afterwards.
too many dogs in building (poop bags fill up the front lobby trash) dog poop found in hallways and elevators illegal construction by incompetent workers (chemical smell, random fires on roof) terrible management
