Colorful, active, dynamic, energetic, diverse – all of these apply to West Campus, and with its large amount of students in the neighborhood, it’s easy to see why. The brightly-painted buildings, the trendy little pizza joints, and even the amount of bicycles in the area help define this neighborhood as a haven for University of Texas-Austin students. But even if you aren’t a student, this neighborhood is terrific – there are plenty of apartments to choose from, the housing stock is diverse, and the location is ideal.
West Campus extends from Lamar Boulevard to “the Drag,” or Guadalupe Street. The Drag is where you’ll find a wide selection of shops, restaurants, and bars. These include local favorites like Cabo Bob’s, Halal Bros, the Spider House Café and Ballroom, and Kerbey Lane Café. On the west side, things are a little quieter with Pease Park and the Shoal Creek Greenbelt framing the area.

Severe Living Conditions
1. Severe Flooding and Extensive Water Damage: The most alarming issue we faced was severe flooding throughout the apartment, affecting my bedroom, the kitchen, the bathroom, and my roommate's bedroom. This flooding was not just a minor inconvenience; it was a catastrophic event that has significantly disrupted our lives. My personal belongings, including clothes and undergarments, were drenched in murky, foul-smelling water. Items such as my clothes, which are expensive and essential to my wardrobe, are now ruined with an unbearable odor that has not dissipated despite multiple cleaning attempts. The pervasive moisture has left my room and the entire apartment smelling like it is rotting, creating an unlivable environment. The stress of dealing with this damage, coupled with the fact that maintenance used excessively loud machines to blow air for evaporation, has added a constant noise that disrupts our daily activities, including important meetings. Additionally, these machines are consuming a considerable amount of electricity, which will likely result in an exorbitant electricity bill—an expense we should not have to bear for a situation entirely beyond our control.
