Property Ratings at River Crossing Apartments
This place is barely OK. Size of the apartments are nice and the location is good. I like the maintenance staff as they are friendly and efficient. The rest is not good… I moved in in December. My apartment was supposed to be ready a week before I actually started moving in, it wasn’t so I actually had to wait another week (2 weeks after my move in date) to do so. The “gated community” has never had the gates actually close since I’ve been here. The grills were out of order until just this week. My lease says the pool is open year round, but it wasn’t open when I moved in, they started demolishing it in April with a promise of a new, better , salt water pool by Memorial Day. It is a few weeks before Labor Day now and no word about if we’ll actually ever have a pool again. As for the management company, they are dishonest, rude and lack professional communication skills. The only reason people move here is because they always have an opening, which is likely because of everything I’ve listed, and probably more that I don’t know about.

Thank you very much for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that we have not met your expectations. We certainly did not want you to have a stressful move-in and we apologize for falling short in any way. We have been working to have the gate repaired and in working order. We did experience a slight delay due to a part that had to be ordered. The good news is that the part has arrived and we are now just waiting for the vendor to get us on the schedule to finish the repair. Additionally, we are waiting on the approval of the blue prints for the swimming pool from the town of Thunderbolt. This is unfortunately out of our control and we are cooperating with the necessary agents to ensure this moves along as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and we certainly appreciate your understanding as we work to have these projects finalized. If you would like to have more details or discuss this in further detail, please know that our manager would be happy to chat with you and keep you up to date. Thank you, again. - The River Crossing Team
I lived here for over a year. The management is terrible. They always come up with new fines they create each month. Apartment was terrible condition when I moved in, and they still have the nerve to take my deposit and charge me when I moved out due to “damages” that weren’t there. Do not move here

Poorly maintained complex with a lot of trash and raggedy landscaping. Inoperable security gate and a general dirty feeling all around. I would not recommend this property.

Great find and smartest decision to move here. They have waterfront and a pool...and boat parking! Seriously how cool and convenient is that! From what I hear from other residents is that there is a new owner and the place has improved big time. Works for me, everything has been top notch. Tennis courts, nice looking landscaping and good sized clean apartments. I'm having fun here and it's a nice community.

This apartment complex is poorly managed. You are told you will have things handled, and they usually take their time: Example: air conditioner took 5 months with no compensation for the electric bill..... 5 days with no fridge.....smoke venting to your apartment. Barking dogs... You get letters attached to your door threatening everyone (not just a perpetrator) with a lease violation. That is a violation to your right of quiet enjoyment. There is a feral cat problem that was handled sporadically and the cats were not rid of in a humane way. The complex has changed ownership several times over the years and the lease agreements with it, not to mention management. The management is also not willing to work with you on any terms of the lease. So tread carefully.... The venting system is poor (even if it is to code), and when your neighbor smokes in their apartment, they also smoke in yours. ... There has been two violent incidents in the last few months. I have had a kayak and two expensive pairs of sunglasses stolen at this residence. During the hurricane, there were strangers walking around knocking on doors to see who is home. I could go on....but you can see why I would not recommend this apartment complex.

Halfway between downtown Savannah and the beautiful beach on Tybee Island, sits a quiet complex in tiny Thunderbolt, Georgia right on the Inter-coastal Waterway. Although it is on the water, prices are much more affordable than others in the area. Each apartment boasts spacious walk-in closets that will leave you spoiled and washer/dryer hook-ups so a trip to the laundry mat is not necessarily needed. The neighborhood is quiet and homey and is in the perfect area for someone who wants to live a quieter lifestyle but still have access to amenities that city life still has to offer.
