River Oaks Apartments of Rochester Hills

They have been renovating the pool for months (as they are flush with cash due to exorbitant rent increases of almost $200 a month), and this week, the week they usually open it, they announce the pool WILL NOT be opening for the summer. Of course thwy would wait until the very last minute to drop this on everyone so that it wouldn't affect lease renewals. It was clearly a calculated move by mangament and had i known this I would not have renewed. Other than the awesome maintenance staff, the pool is the only amenity worth anything at this place. Even though they keep pouring money into lackluster amenities to try and market themselves as "luxury" to try and compete with the brand new apartments down the road.

Great staff. You can tell they really take care of the place and the residents. I have to move, but I have lived here for 3 years.

The staff is always friendly and works efficiently to solve any maintenance issues. The area is quiet and feels very safe. I've never felt uncomfortable during my stay at these apartments. Love it here and would highly recommend this place to anyone!

I've been here about 1.5 years now and have had super quick and almost instant solutions to maintenance needs. The complex is beautiful and super well managed with responsive staff and the maintenance and site crews really keep the place perfect to walk around in and live in all year long. I would highly consider them for all the lovely people that manage the place.

I spent three years of my life in this apartment and can truly say it was the best place I have ever lived. Due to my school and job, I've had the chance to rent many different properties before, but this by far was something truly special. From the spacious apartment, beautiful complex filled with amenities, and professional staff that is always available, it truly makes me sad to leave this place behind and move once more due to work reasons. If I had the opportunity to move back in the future, I would do so in a heartbeat!

Nature is lovingly tolerant in River Oaks! With curvy roads boarded by water-lands & trees that are grandchildren of the ones planted on the estate of Matilda Wilson Dodge many decades ago, it is beguilingly attractive & comforting to residents. When I arrived here in January of 2010, the rules & policies were attended to scrupulously! My first Spring I was admonished twice in one week because I cleaned the patio furniture on the grass before placing on the patio! While I was irritated because I could not manage to complete it in one day, it certainly sealed in my mind their expectations. Obviously, I have found a good home. My professional training in horticulture cause me to disagree with landscape decisions occasionally, but I am grateful for the opportunity to lend my own touches to theirs. The serenely quiet atmosphere has been destroyed for several years by a few tenants with muscle cars & motorcycles. Their exuberance can’t be contained & reving the motor routinely pierces the sound barrier daily, whether night or day & it’s worse on weekends. After a complaint, I realized that one of the responsible parties is aware of my concern & when passing my apartment, actually make the sound worse! I have often said this community is remarkable for numerous reasons. With an open attitude toward exchange of ideas & cooperation, River Oaks can become as notable as is the OPC in the tri-community! & nationally! The staff is very courteous & cooperative.The cultural variety of newcomers challenges both the staff & neighbors but also brings new opportunities for friendship. River Oaks is safe, conveniently located, the response for maintenance is outstanding even though the aging buildings need to be renovated. All things considered, apartment hunters would be smart to seriously consider settling in Fiver Oaks!

Staff always attentive, private, nice grounds, prompt maintenance

I love it here. The manager here is amazing. They recently did a bunch of renovations to the property and they do a really great job of maintaining everything too. I'm seriously considering transferring into one of the new renovated apartments.

I have lived at several apartments and this is the best by far! The apartments are beautiful and the staff is always helpful and quick to respond. I would highly recommend moving here.

RENTER BEWARE!!! All the negative reviews regarding the management is 100% accurate. It is amazing that the owners of such a beautiful property would have such unprofessional, rude, abrasive and unethical management. They care more to get an extra $100 out of you when you leave then to maintain a positive relationship and/or all the benefits of positive recommendations and positive reviews aimed at future tenants. As noted in many of the previous reviews of this property, your security deposit is in jeopardy, not only that but they will find additional things and bill you a balance in addition to the security deposit. I've rented most my life and have dealt with many property managers but the manager of River Oaks ranks among the most despicable and shameless types of people I have ever had to deal with. RENTER BEWARE!!!

You don’t want to live here. You will have constant bugs and spiders, hear the unit next to you as if they were living in the same townhouse, and nothing will be done about it. Way too much money for that. I instantly moved out when my lease was up. The apartments I had in college were quieter and cleaner than this.

I've been here 2 years. Every concern has been dealt with quickly and to my satisfaction. Quiet neighborhood, quiet apartments. Excellent management. Well maintained and attractive.

Very nice location and amenities, good condition. The only downside is the dated look of the kitchen and the older washer and dryer.

i relocated from Kansas, and picked this complex from the internet. It is exactly what was advertised. Nice amenities, clean apartment in good condition.

I love the area that my apartment is in and the apartment size is perfect. I am close to the freeways and close to all the night life but don't have to be stuck in the traffic. Close to Oakland University but not all students in complex. The staff are all very helpful and nice and they do alot for our apartment community.

This place is close to Oakland University and I love the fact that you can have dogs because I hope to stay here and keep a doggy with me.
