Lancaster, Ohio may be a small city, but it packs plenty of things to do and see into its location. Just about 33 miles from Columbus, it certainly has plenty of things to do nearby, but Lancaster has more than that, including class, character, and a lot of charm. That's why finding apartments for rent in Lancaster, Ohio is not hard to do. Whether it's the tradition of the Native American tribes that once dominated the area or the peaks of modern lifestyle coming through this traditional town's streets, there's a lot to enjoy about this city located in southeastern Ohio.
While the community is small, there are some designated neighborhoods within it that are worth considering if you are looking for apartments for rent here. There are also condominiums and homes for rent throughout the region. Mostly governmental, since Lancaster is the county seat of Fairfield County, as well as commercial, the City Center area has a handful of apartments, condos, and homes.

Property Ratings at River Valley
We lived here for 8 years and was treated horrible when leaving. No compassion, you are not a person/human just a pay$$.
Property Manager at River Valley, Responded To This Review
Hello Jenny. We strive to provide excellent service to all of our residents and guests and apologize if you've had a negative experience. I would love to learn more about what happened so I can work with the staff to ensure this does not happen again. Please feel free to email me directly at customerservice@trprop.com. Thank you.
The apartment was dirty when we moved in. The maintenance staff was too small to fix anything in an appropriate time frame. Random policies were always being introduced in an attempt to charge residents with fines. We were forced to jump through hoops to pay rent through an awkward and poorly designed third party website. I've rented from 5 different companies or individuals and never was paying rent anywhere near as big a hassle as it was at River Valley. When we moved out we left the apartment cleaner than when we moved in and they racked still up nearly $700 in random 'cleaning fees' on our move-out condition form. After our time there we felt like cash-cows for corporate, they don't care about their residents, only money.
I have worked here for 2 years now. The residents are, for the most part, great! We (employees)pride ourselves on the high level of service we have provided. We're not perfect, but we try to complete work orders in a timely manner, normally within 2-3 days, most of the time within the same day as the request was made. The office staff are ever-working to accommodate or help residents with their questions and concerns. Great place to work!

Thank you so much for leaving us a review! Our employees take pride in their work and in their communities!
Been here for a few months. Only honest complaint is the parking sometimes. Otherwise the staff is pretty darn good. Have had no issues whatsoever.

Hi there! We're so happy to see this type of feedback. Parking can sometimes be frustrating no matter where you are but we will work to make sure it's not an issue as best we can.
Have lived here for almost a year and it's the best complex we have lived in. Staff is friendly and always helpful
Property Manager at River Valley, Responded To This Review
Wow! This is great feedback! We are thrilled that River Valley is the best apartment community you've ever lived in! We have a great team in place, who take an immense amount of pride in their work, and we are glad it shows!
I wish I would NEVER moved here. I have called the rental office numerous times about the noise and smoking in a non smoking building but management has NOT taken care of the problem. Stay awaw.
Been living here for almost a year and have no complaints. Everything is ran well and have nice neighbors.
Feels very family-oriented and has good staff. Fellow residents are really nice as well.
I am thrilled to have found such a wonderful community for my kids and I to call our home. I'm not going to lie, I was terrified to move into an apartment with my dog and two children, but the people and all around environment has put my mind at complete ease. Recently single and never having lived on my own, I thought it would take months for us to adapt, but I haven't seen my kids this happy in a long time. They have plenty of friends close by and there's a playground I can see from my apartment, and a pool I can't wait to use this summer. Management has been extremely welcoming and helpful with our transition. In addition, I am very pleased with the lack of noise which came as a complete shock! You always expect to hear your neighbors and especially when they have dogs and children of their own, however, I haven't heard them at all. I am so excited to start our new journey here at River Valley and look forward to meeting more people when it gets warm in the Spring.
Their good people help when needed help this was the only apartments that worked with us on the time frame we needed it. When something needed fixed it got done. The staff there are easy to talk to and want to help out in anyway they can Tammy is a great manager who truly Care about you. If you need a place to live then here is a place that Care about you.
Excellent place to live, great management staff very nice. Maintenance staff is very helpful and friendly always solving problems. Very nice community and places for kids to play and a beautiful pool to enjoy. We highly recommend this apartment complex. Audrey Waits and Steven Moneymaker
We love this complex. Management is friendly, professional and helpful. If we could give out 10 stars we would. Maintenance staff is friendly and problems (if any!) are handled quickly. We highly recommend this complex. Tom & Jan Viserta
I called in back in February 2016 an ask about apartments, an was told a lot of good things about the place that sounded real good. So I proceeded to fill out an application to obtain an apartment. Once I filled out the application an the very next day I went in an paid for the apartment, I moved into a 3 bedroom apartment. The office staff is very friendly. If you have any problems with anything with the apartment calk in an they will get it fixed in a fast time, I have to say Tammy property manager is very nice an Saundra the secretary is also a very friendly person an will do what they can for you. I would refer anyone to live here as you can call this place home an its very nice if you have kids.
Very friendly staff and great to work with, and are helpful with any issues you may have. I have a 3 bedroom and it is newly renewed and very spacious. I recommend to anyone new to the Lancaster area.
The apartments are very nice and clean. The office staff, Tammy and Saundra are very friendly and will go out of their way to try to help you out. Maintenance is great as well, if something needs done they get to it very quickly and they are very cheerful and don't complain about their job. I have looked at a lot of apartments and even rental houses in this city but River Valley was much nicer and the best value for the price.
I moved into River Valley approximately 6 months ago and simply love it. The office staff of Tammy and Saundra are always pleasant and helpful. For the money, it's great and convenient to 33. Problems are taken care of quickly and efficiently. I looked into some of the nearby apartments but the staff seemed disinterested with my business, so I went to River Valley. I lived across the country, but I can honestly say that this place feels like home. If you want a people friendly staff and good service, you can't go wrong with River Valley Apartments. Thanks to the staff.
My husband and I rented a townhouse from them last year. We moved out before our lease was up but still just paid our rent. We asked the previous manager when we moved out if we needed to keep utilities on and she said no. We moved and had everything shut off then we get phone calls from the new manager telling us we had to turn everything back on or we would be charged $1000.00 for air testing when they were ready to rent our unit. We made sure the apartment was clean but when it was time for our deposit to be returned they kept all of it and are trying to charge us $614 more!!! They said our carpet was stained and the cleaning wasn't good enough so they replaced it. The carpet WAS NOT stained and nothing was wrong with it. They went through and penny and dimed EVERYTHING. the ONLY damage caused while we were there is the kitchen floor the dog scratched and tore it up in one of the corners. Even with that the floor was damaged when we moved in so instead of at least discounting the cost to replace it since they would have had to do that anyway they made us pay the full amount. We have emailed corporate and they refuse to do anything. They say they have pictures proving we are wrong but won't show them to us! This place is a joke! They rent to drunks and trashy people and you will always have 600 kids running around and screaming and leaving bikes behind and under your car and playing on your porch. People steal like crazy in there as well. Take your money and RUN!!!!!
I love living in this area and loved river valley up until lately. Me and my husband have lived here for two years in a second floor one bedroom apartment. The area is nice and the service can be vary good here at River Valley, but they can also be vary strict and unfair for other things. It took them almost a year in a half to fix our Crumbling Concrete Stairs and will tow your car if it sits for long periods of time witch isn't vary good for a mother to be with a high risk pregnancy and cant drive unless needed. Also Me and my husband are having a baby here in the next week or so and were looking to upgrade to a two bedroom townhouse. The problem is that our Lease isn't up until Oct. 31 2015 we were willing to sign another year lease but they refused. We would be paying more and still a costumer for another year so they would be making more money. I would understand if they didn't have a apartment open for us, but that wasn't the case. They said that they just don't do that in they're company. Now we are right on top of each other and don't have the room that new parents will need and they just don't care about their people. The only reason that they had for not letting us upgrade three months early was that they just wouldn't. Most places would love to help out they're own customers they would be getting more money for those three months and for another year. Like I said before they can be a vary nice place to live but there are just somethings that you just don't do and to us this was one of them. Now we are moving in October and not looking back. We don't want to live somewhere that doesn't care about their customers.
