Historically one of the economic and cultural powerhouses of the Midwest, Detroit is full of people who are working towards redevelopment and revitalization. Known as the origin of the automobile industry, the Motor City is moving towards a future of economic opportunity with roots far beyond the world of cars. The cost of living is low while rental rates for apartments, condos, and houses are highly attractive for any budget.
Monuments paying tribute to Detroit’s rich history are everywhere while astonishing architecture and public artwork is scattered throughout the city. As the birthplace of Motown, Detroit has a long tradition of producing legendary musicians like Diana Ross and Stevie Wonder. This tradition continues today and it’s easy to find live performances from every genre.
The city is a great destination for sports lovers as one of the few American cities with major leagues in football, baseball, basketball, and hockey.

Property Ratings at Riverfront Towers
It's been 1 yr staying at the Riverfront Towers. Since day one management was very helpful and welcoming us into our home. The scenery is beautiful. The pool, hot tub, and sauna is relaxing. The fireworks was exciting for the family to see from the riverfront. The night atmosphere is romantic with the firepit and night lights from the bridge/Canada. They keep the place really clean. The store is very convenient The neighbors are really nice. Security is super secure. Easy commute with the Detroit People mover. Also thank you to Shakeiah Johnson for renewing our lease and being so kind to our family!
Elevators never work, when you leave the property they send you to collections. A lot of noises, hot water doesn't work a lot. They DO NOT return your deposit.
There are so many things wrong here. I've lived here for 3 years asked for some minor details to be updated on my unit and nothing has been done. Parking-I have a dedicated handicap spot due to Nerve issues, Dr. Approved, and I've had this designated spot for over a year. Yesterday, someone decided to park in my spot while I was out. Security told me they don't two cars, they'll just put a notice on it. They KNOW how the car's owner is as they're writing this info down. I came down the next day to see if I can move my car, only to see ANOTHER car in my spot. Security said the same thing, we'll tag it, but won't call for a two over the weekend. They even told me that they knew who this car was visiting, apt and phone number, bur rather than asking them to move their car, nothing. The parking situation here is beyond horrible! They need to make 3 floors for residents ONLY, no guests, and keep guests parking below or on the first level.
WORST decision ever to sign a lease! After two weeks I quitt the lease. I got an apartment not ready to move in, water damages! Arrogant, incompetent managemnt! They trick you out: after signing the lease, nothing will happen, just empty promises. It´s a shame! KEEP AWAY from Riverfront!!
The views do not make up for the ants, gnats, trash smells, noise and rude leasing office employees. Cannot stress enough how horrible my living experience there was.
Do not waste your time. The property looks appealing from the outside but is a nightmare once your lease is signed. Tons of hidden fees, the elevators are always broken, the pool was empty for half of my time here, and the workout room is never cleaned or organized. I had locked myself out of the apartment once and every security guard was too stoned to really help me with the situation. Just a terrible experience overall. Look at any other place in downtown Detroit than Riverfront.
This place was my worst experience of move in EVER. My move in was supposed to be a magical day, however it was my worst nightmare. My first renting downtown Detroit was horrible. I get the keys to my new apartment, and there is trash on the stove, carpet that wasn’t fully laid out, cracks in mirrors, and stains on the countertops AND paint on the kitchen floors. When I nicely went downstairs to see if they could kindly give me another unit for THEIR mishap, they tried to upcharge me $100 more in rent, plus an additional $158.00 for security deposit. I would never recommend this place. So sad that the nice area has crappy management. Ciarra was a pleasure to work with. I’m sad she had to experience me go through this.
All they care about are future tenants and not current. I had to wake up to construction noises for at least 6 months and they wouldn't even lower my rent, but offered to waive the move fee. Then they entered my apartment without my knowledge (I only know this because they left behind trash), and ignored both of my emails asking about it. They refused to acknowledge my move out notice and claim it has to be filed by mail, which is no where in the contract. They are rude, don't answer any emails, the front door is broken all the time, the lobby floods, the hallways are stained, elevators are constantly down. The only good thing about this place is the view and the convenience store. Unless you have unlimited funds (to account for fees they decide to charge, or for parking etc.) and a large amount of patience, do not waste your time.
This was probably the worst apartment decision that I've ever made. However, my rent is paid in full every month since April. There is always a problem. Since April there has been a problem with the master bathroom ceiling leaking. Mold, yellow stained, sagging paint. Recent upper floor water leak lead to holes being drilled in my kitchen wall. Heavy duty fan running using my electric to dry out the wall. Loss of electricity to the building twice. Which means no elevator. There is no privacy lock on the entry door. Someone has entered my apartment at least 3 times when I have been in the shower. Pets pee and defecate on skybridge floor. Multiple incidents. Garbage left in trash room. Since it is right across the hall that leads to gnats coming into my apartment when my door is opened. Other issues that I have experienced: Closet rack collapse, Mailbox keys didn't work, garbage disposal leak, kitchen faucet leak. I have even reached out multiple times to the property management company AMP with no response back from them. Spend your money somewhere else....
I visited this property in 2016 and thought it needed some work. After getting a tour in 2020, I noticed major improvements to the the public areas and the grounds are immaculate. I signed up for a one bedroom + den and the leasing staff couldn't have been nicer as well as being professional. The apartment has a fresh coat of paint, new carpets, new fixtures in the kitchen and bath which to me is a renovated apartment even though it's not quite that to the management team.
The property is secure, well maintained and quiet. The views are spectacular and the people are really friendly.
Water leaking for 3 weeks no answer from the management! Shower stopped working 10 days ago still nothing fixed. Elevators NEVER WORK! Good luck if you’re on a high floor and have to rush to work every morning taking the stairs. Parking is $60/month when every other apartment complex only charges $30. Guests have to pay $10 every time to visit you. There’s much better apartments in downtown for the same price. DO NOT sign a contract here.
I moved here in December of 2018 from Chicago I moved to building 100 the managers Amanda & Peggy are incompetent they told me when moving in they were finishing up the lobby well ladies & gentleman here we are 6 months later and the lobby still hasn’t been finished in building 100 there is dust everywhere. I get emails about 4 days a week about the hot water being out due to them updating the water system and then they have the audacity to say “Please feel free to shower at the gym!!” The elevators do not work half the time. My sister and her husband came to visit me last month and they got stuck in the elevator for 1 hour and 20mins my sister is 6months pregnant and almost had a panic attack. The money that you pay to stay here you would think that we could at least have working elevators. I was an hour late to work because there was only one elevator working last week in the morning. After calling the leasing office and speaking with Amanda she advised me to take the steps. Mind you I stay all the way on the 25th floor and have asthma they don’t care!! I haven’t even gotten on the parking structure situation yet and how I came outside and my tires were missing on my Mercedes!!! Please save yourself the time DO NOT move to the Riverfront the only thing nice about this place is the view of the river!!!
Worst service. The place is old, under construction, and dirty. Parking for guests is $1 am hour after a long weight.
The grounds are beautiful, but the upkeep and management are horrible. These are high rises with 29 floors, and the elevators are always breaking down (yes frequently with people in them). The management is in effective and unbothered, and cars are frequently being broken into... There are too many other great places to live downtown. I would not choose this place as I am looking to break my lease as we speak.
The apartment is great and has a view that is absolutely amazing over the city.
The living conditions are great here. Very ideal spot and close to many attractions in and around the city. I love it here. I see a lot of improvement that could still take place. The staff and management are not as active and robust on fixing issues as I thought they would be. overall I think that it is a good place but not great.
Been at Riverfront for about 5 years. Place is nice. It has a great view of the river. Good mix of people most of them overly friendly. Not a big fan of the restaurant in complex but the do pour a good drink (see Tom). Now the downside the elevators suck. 3 in my building. All of them have issues. So if you can't climb stairs this might not be the place for you. Also the Marina has been closed the past 4 years. Don't know why but I want it back open.
From the pool, sauna, and grounds to the pond complete with bullfrogs and hatching geese...living at The Riverfront has been refreshing after thirty years in mid-town Manhattan. The river walk is so alive in the summer....providing exercise, yoga classes as well as Rib Fest....and the legendary Jazz Fest. Thanks Detroit!
I love my apartment!! It is my utopia. I have an amazing view of the Detroit River and Canada. The restaurant/bar has great food. There is a Karaoke night that you shouldn't miss! There are amazing singer. There are many services available to us such as Dry Cleaners, Hair Salon, Gym and soon to be Mini-Market. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!!
