Property Ratings at Rivergate Bordentown Waterfront
Lived here a years and the train is awful. Besides the riverline every 25 min, you have random freight trains blaring there horns anywhere from 11 pm to 2 am. Can't keep your windows open at night without train disturbance. Apt are nice but have had issues with the pool being open and car vandalism.
I had the pleasure of working with Jamie in the rental office. She is on top of her game and made this whole process just about as smooth as it could possibly be. She almost immediately responds to emails and was very helpful getting me into the perfect unit for my needs and budget.
Very nice apts, staff is great, we won’t be staying for more than a year due to the River line train. It runs from 6 am - 10 pm everyday and is maddening. Not sure who thought building an apt complex behind train tracks was a good idea.
Originally, I liked the apartment for its proximity to major highways. However, the maintenance staff is horrible; I have a list of grievances that could take up an entire page, but I'll name just a few: doors to the apartment complex are frequently broken (unsafe and inconvenient), I have complained about water leakage stains, only to have them re-paint over the stain without examining the original leak, issues that have remained unfixed for weeks at a time, fixes that, when they are finally undertaken, are shoddy, at best (think massive amounts of duct tape). The main staff is not helpful, either. I have called and left messages to no avail. Parking is a nightmare. If you plan on returning any time after 6 pm, expect to park two football field lengths from your building. The garages are for rent, and are not supposed to be used for storage, in order to accommodate more cars. However, nearly every rented garage space IS used for storage, so it does nothing to alleviate the congestion in the lots. My neighbors smoked pot when I lived there, and the hallways frequently reeked of it. Depending on the way that your apartment faces, you either get loud tractor trailers driving by every hour of the day, or you get a train whizzing by on the tracks every 20 minutes or so. Pick your poison. Add to that, rent increases every year for no reason other than the management can make it so. If the apartments were about $400-600 cheaper, maybe they'd be worth it. But the only thing "luxury" about this place is the price tag. If you can afford the rent here, you can probably find a better place.
Rivergate Bordentown is located very close to downtown Bordentown where there are shops and restaurants. I moved in when there were only 2 buildings constructed but they have since completed the third building and will complete the 4th building in several months. the management staff is very helpful and the amenities are also very nice to have. They have a guesthouse that you can rent out, an awesome pool area, and a tiny but efficient gym area. The guesthouse, you can also rent out for free if you want. Since its still under construction, landscaping is a work in progress but the work that has been complete is wonderful. They also have garages that you can rent out but they do cost extra so I did not get a garage. The apartments themselves are nice however the higher end finishes don't seem as high end when you actually use them. I don't think that should negate from the apartment as a whole. I do however LOVE LOVE LOVE that the walls are thick and the floors too. Thats not to say I cannot hear my upstairs or downstairs neighbors but that is only when they are really loud which isn't often (almost never). I have never heard the neighbors on either side of me. There is a train the rides behind the complex but it doesn't come around often enough to be a nuisance. If you can afford to live here, I would definitely take it.
The location is terrific and the residents are nice. You can hear footsteps above and the trash container is a hike. Two small criticisms. I am a very happy resident
Although a great idea-a small community with amenities-it felt more like a hotel or an extended stay place than an apartment. Rooms are all small with fair amenities-not top grade-especially for the $$. (and BIG security deposit). Blinds are plastic and baths are shallow. I guess I was expecting more. Would like to hear from someone who is living there.
