Property Ratings at River's Edge
I just moved to Wisconsin, I’m a single mother of two toddlers and i’m just trying to provide the best life i can for my kids. I don’t talk to anyone or bother anyone, i feel this is important piece of information because i would think i shouldn’t have problems with people you don’t bother well at river edge you are still a problem. The couple that lives under me (hard to miss them, they stand right out the front door smoking cigarettes right along side the maintenance man. I have talk to the landlord who has said she talked to said couple about their smoking and it needs to be 15ft from the building however they continue to smoke where they want. You may think that’s not a big deal, however when said couple who are constantly in everyones business and always calling the landlord for everything and anything you would think they could listen and respect when they get asked to stand some where else to smoke. The maintenance man he doesn’t actually fix things he just rigs it so it’s ok for a week or two. I am out of town and i have not been gone for two full weeks before i received news that my car isn’t moving so they are going to tow it. I called the landlord and she said she knew nothing about my car being towed but that she would get back to me on it she did not, so i had to call cause it’s urgent to me, my lease states that parking is part of the unit and i paid my rent so my car should be fine not when you have three people (said couple, and maintenance man) with nothing better to do then pick on people. This whole place is ridiculous. Save yourself the stress and misery of always feeling like you are a problem where you are supposed to feel at home. I am miserable and on edge every time i pull up. I won’t even get out my car if the said couple is outside smoking because they block the door and I’m uncomfortable to walk through the the door if they are outside. It should not be this way especially if I pay my bills they’re just like everybody else. Warning comes before destruction so do with this review what you will i didn’t listen and now I’m stuck for the remainder of my lease.
Honestly if you want a nice place to live that is peaceful...this is truely not the the place for you to live. While the apartment I lived in is quite spacious and very nice inside, the apartment is not safe for a family to live. There are constant issues. Such as the very gross smell of weed all the time, as well as people are always smoking in the building which the land lord does nothing to attempt to fix either issue. The residents in the building can be nice but we have been experiencing racist comments and very loud arguments in the hallway. We have also been trying to keep calm while staying there until with in a 5 day period there were 4 crimes (all gun related) that took place in the hallway and in the parking lot (which the property manager has yet to try to get anywhere with fixing). I currently live here with my child, and with walls only made of dry wall and wood, and I don't want to risk her getting hurt by some strange person with a gun. So if you want to move somewhere, unless you want to live in a drug den, I don't recommend this place. The land lord is very nice but she doesn't seem to get any problems solved or try to. I loved the apartment, I don't care so much for the violence or the unsafe feeling we have every night. DO NOT move here if you don't have to. If you are wondering about how the authorities handle things, trust me...they don't. Please save yourself the trouble and find some place else, unless you like pot or don't care if the place smells like cigaretts and the very loud and very rude kids that are running around every where all the time. I dispise the several months that we have lived here, and absolutely can't wait to get out of here. However there are a few tennants that are nice but that is only at first then they just don't talk to you or they act like you aren't there. There are some positives but they really aren't enough for me to say its worth it to move here. Good luck, I hope this helps you decide on your next home better.
I wouldn't recommend living here if you are looking for a calm and peaceful place to live in I've had all my neighbor leave because of drug smells, noice complaints that never get solved. Cops showing up every other day. Kids running around near people's windows throwing rocks. Certain tenants have BBQ parties in backyard, which I have no problem with however the guests who come to the parties take up all the parking spots so we have to park on the other side of where we live or across the street which is a huge inconvenience. Management has been really weird and confusing there's been 4 managers in the last 8 months 2 of them addressing weeks after they've been notified (clogged sink, no water) some not at all . I honestly wouldn't live here if rent was free. But take my review with a grain of salt if you like having a little noise outside your window if you live downstairs with kids throwing rocks and running near your windows starring sometimes and your bathroom smelling like weed from the vents that's fine this place might be for you. This is just mine and some of the tenants honest opinion
