Hugging the Congaree River and stretching east, Columbia is a sprawling city with a history dating back to colonial times. Nicknamed the "Capital of Southern Hospitality," Columbia is a welcoming, warm city -- it is also a college town, home to the University of South Carolina. The university is located downtown, covering over 359 acres. The historic, top-ranking university dates back to 1801, but the oldest structure in Columbia is the Seibels House, built around 1796. It currently serves as a house museum.
While there's plenty for college students to do, Columbia provides a variety of activities -- whether you're a golfer, a shopper, or a foodie. Kid-friendly activities are everywhere, from the gorgeous parks to the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. The downtown district provides a variety of shops and restaurants along brick-paved sidewalks, and the river and nearby lakes provide opportunities for boating and fishing.

Property Ratings at Rivers Edge at Carolina Stadium
When I moved in it took them over a week to install the kitchen faucet, so I couldn’t cook. It is not July and it has been over a week with a broken A/C, it was 90 degrees in my room and 85 in the living room. My dryer didn’t dry and it took them from September to June to give us a new one. The dishwasher also broke and had to be replaced and that took them a week also.

I moved in August 2023 and I have had a maintenance issue every single month since moving in. Currently, my AC has been out for the entire month of June and July in Columbia heat where it's 90+ everyday. Finally maintenance informs me they will be replacing it next week, a week before my lease ends. Management does not care about anything but getting their money, they don't care about the safety or wellbeing of their residents. When I moved in, my front door didn't lock for about a week. The AC didn't work when I moved in. Maintenance comes into my apartment while I'm at work without informing me. They charge you late fees for rent when their website is the issue. Just the absolute worst management and complex in Columbia. Good luck to anyone who signs a lease here. If you want to live where you have maintenance issues in every single category and room of the apartment, you've hit the jackpot with Rivers Edge.

Hi! "Valued" resident here. I moved into Rivers edge in August 2023, I am toward the end of my lease and decided it was time to let anyone looking into this apartment to STOP! They call us valued residents but if you have anything wrong with your apartment, you will see how much you really matter. For one move in day left an enormous amount of people with AC, in August in Columbia (it was hot as hell). Many other instances of my roommates toilet not flushing, sent someone out and they did not fix... her brother came and fixed it because we actually wanted it fixed! Now so close to moving out and the office has been holding events, it's so nice! BUTTTTT they still can't fix stuff in your apartment. I have been without water since yesterday morning. I put in a work order for a leak in the outdoor closet on 4/2 now the leak has gone into my room and under the carpet. I called their emergency number. They came and shut the water off, about 2 hours later had a guy dehumidify the carpet. That's it, that's all that was done. Whatever pipe that is leaking not fixed, their solution was to leave a "valued resident" without water. Also I was told by a man in the office they would have been out here yesterday to fix it. No water, my closet carpet is soaking wet, and the office hasn't returned my calls. They seem great but trust me when I say it is a fake. Also they rarely have the pool open for residents to swim. RUNNNN from this place too expensive for their lack of accountability and disregard for residents.

It's really not worth your money. There are far better places to live in Columbia. They don't take care of the grounds as well as they should and once left a dog waste trash can overflowing for weeks in the Dog Park. All they care about is money. My experience started off amazing, and when I needed help, no one helped me. They ignored my emails, visits and phone calls for weeks. The leasing consultants are great, but management is awful.

Hello, thank you for the feedback, we will take this and continue to improve in all areas we can.
Management changed and now they are THE WORST place to live. They have ZERO customer service and when they messed up and lost my package and I asked what they were going to do to help me they said "sorry you're blaming us for your problems" Even though it was clearly their fault. Anytime I went to the office with a question/concern I never got an answer because the office staff "doesn't make the rules" and "are not the managers", but when you ask to speak with a manager they say they don't have one. Terrible, horrible place, and it's unsafe. Multiple neighbors had thefts, there were multiple reports of car thefts, and there is an issue with homeless people hanging around. Would give them zero stars if I could. They nickel and dime you as much as possible. Terrible place to live, they took forever with maintenance responses, and the apartment was completely not updated. Save yourself the trouble and live anywhere else.
The new management sucks. They are so focused on getting new people in they neglect the current residents and let issues pile up. They promise to fix something immediately and end up putting it off for a week. I go in to ask them why and they are making signs to advertise. They have messed up several things including our mailbox keys, and my lease. It’s a great place but it’s run by idiots.
This property is a MESS and so is the management! - upgraded furniture was paid for a whole extra month and it arrived a month late -upgraded tv was paid for and as of today 8/22 it hasn't arrived -the bathroom counter top isn't upgraded -the keys weren't ready on moved in day - mailbox key not available -A call was made prior to the move and they were told everything was ready but when we got there management lost the paperwork and claimed they didn't receive it -the cleaning staff took the cleaning supplies brought for the apartment -there are exposed outlets in the kitchen -the dishwasher does not work properly -A first floor apartment was requested the lease was signed well before apartments were filled and they ended up on the third floor -old furniture was left in the apartment with cigarette burns and smelled of alcohol - New apartment furniture for other units are out on the lawn (and it had rained) Don't lease here!
When it was the club it was much better. The new management doesn't know what they're doing and treat the residents horribly. My roommate was the first to move into our apartment. Where she found that it wasn't actually move in ready when they told her it would be. There was water damage in the apartment on the ceiling and floors, completely filthy and not deep cleaned, exposed cords and cables, the residents before still had stuff they left. It looked like it hadn't been touched since the old residents moved out before that. Also, she was forced to pay her summer rent still even when she didn't want to live there because they put a random man in one of the other rooms, when they told her it was a woman. They are also not clear about the rent. It's 12 monthly installments but they aren't equal. You sign a year lease but it's actually only for 11 months and 12 days and still have to pay that 12th month's full rent. They are unclear and shady with their business practices. and unresponsive to residents. Aside from our experience, others who we know have had various issues as well. We do not recommend living here. Don't sign with them.
My current apartment is very nice, when I moved in everything was in pristine condition and ready for a new occupant the day that I arrived. The apartment complex is well kept, neat and sufficient enough for all of the folks that live here I believe. I would really benefit from this opportunity for free rent because although my apartment is great, my work life is not helping me at all.
