Wedged between the Passaic and Hackensack Rivers, North Arlington stands out among its neighbors -- it's cozy, yes, but it was also named on of 2017's Best Places to Live by Money Magazine. North Arlington has a small-town feel, but it is located just 10 miles from Manhattan and five miles from Meadowlands Sports Complex, which features the MetLife Stadium -- home of the NFL's New York Jets and New York Giants.
North Arlington is very family-friendly, with high-ranking schools and several nearby parks. Richard w De Korte Park, located on the Hackensack River, has walking paths, designated fishing areas, and picnic areas. The park is home to the William D. Mc Dowell Observatory, which is free and open to the public every Wednesday night year-round. Riverside County Park is situated along the Passaic River, providing a playground, fitness center, bocce, a walkway, a dog park, lighted tennis courts, ball fields, and a picnic pavilion.

Property Ratings at Riverview Gardens
I've been living here with my partner for a few months now, and everything has been wonderful! Maintenance staff is responsive, and the residential staff were very helpful with setting us up and answering any questions we had (we worked with Jacky!) The location is very safe and all the neighbors I've met have been extremely kind! I understand the parking might be a concern to some people-- I've gotten home at around 10:00 to 11:00pm before, and there's never NOT been any parking available. Sometimes I have to walk a little bit, but it's a small neighborhood and no trouble. After living here for a little bit I wouldn't say the parking is a big concern.
I have been living here since 2012 and I don’t have any complaints. Management is very responsive and repairs are done quickly. The complex is kept very clean. Shoutout to Jackie who is there on weekends and is super helpful and will always try to help no matter how busy she is. The only reason why I’m moving out soon is because I’m going to live with my boyfriend who owns his place.
My partner and I were looking for a complex that is safe, well run, spacious, and affordable. This was very difficult to find as many places that met this criteria were NOT affordable. Riverview Gardens met all of this criteria plus more benefits. The maintenance staff responds right away if there are any issues (although there rarely are any issues), it is an up and coming and safe area (North Arlington), and the Residential Staff are excellent (Louis, Jacky, etc.). I would recommend this complex to couples, families, elderly individuals, and more. Also, my partner and I were looking for a complex that is driving distance to NYC and Rutgers.
Recently moved into the building and it was a smooth process. The amenities are also really great; there's a well-equipped, and a laundry room with many machines. Building is also pet friendly. I'm a huge foodie, and there are a lot of great restaurants in the area. The building is also close to many banks. I would definitely recommend the Riverview apartments to others!
I had booked a 2 bedroom apartment after several attempts to find one, but I could not stay in this community due to Visa issues. I had heard and read about leasing office staff's unfriendly behavior, which one might feel true due to high demand of these apartments. But my experience was completely opposite from that prejudice. Kathy and team were very co-operative and returned Deposit & application fee. Only deduction was credit & criminal background check. I am very happy with the way team handled whole situation. Kudos to the team.
I applied for an apartment and Jacque was the one who showed me around. She was very welcoming, knowledgeable and patient. Any question I had she was willing to answer. Also the grounds are kept very nice. Overall this place is great!
This place it worst to live, very small apartments. No Parking after 7 PM, anyone can park anywhere hence creating big mess especially in winter this is a big issue. Maintenance is good. They have cheated me by charging for wrong apartment damages when leaving the apartment. Initially they will take less money as deposits and and while leaving apartment they will charge you for false damages. Management is quiet horrible and have no control whats going on. You cannot pay your rent online, you have to drop check every month which is quite in convenient. The tenants living since long time acting as a owners and they will keep eye on you as spy's. Many times i complained about neighbors misbehavior. Once I caught neighbor taking photos of our apartment and complained same to management but no action taken as neighbor was old tenant of this property. My suggestions better stay away from this mess.
My husband and I honestly can't say enough good things about this complex. It's spacious, comfortable, and everyone in the office and the maintenance team were super helpful. One of my favorite parts was the fact that there was much green! You really felt as if you were walking around a park at times. It was especially nice around the holidays when we'd take our puppy out for a stroll and see how everyone had added their little decorations to doors and windows. It just felt like home.
There is a beautiful quaint look to the apartments of Riverview Gardens but inside there are all the modern amenities you will need as a renter. There is air conditioning, dishwasher and washer dryer in every apartment. The kitchen is updated and impressive and the bathroom has marble counter tops that make it look more like a spa than a bathroom. Being so close to New York City, it is great to see so much greenery surrounding the apartment. With open manicured lawns and cherry blossom trees you often see people walking or jogging around the area. There is public transport into the city but if you want to stay local there are plenty places to eat within walking distance. The apartment has parking, heat and hot water included in the lease which helps to make it a great place to live

The maintenance and office staff is very friendly and responsive to any issues that may arise. I have lived here for many years and I have seen changes since the rents stopped rising as rapidly as they had a few years ago. The security deposit is much lower than it used to be and the complex's limit on the number of people living in the apartments is being ignored by many of the newer residents. There can be up to 9 adults and children living in a two bedroom apartment! There are many positives of living here but the quality of life throughout the complex has declined along with the quality of the tenants.
I wouldnt recommend this complex to my worst enemy. They say you get 2 parking spots and monitor, this is false! If you arrive home after 5 pm prepare to park on the street and walk far to your apartment. Many people park in the lots without the proper parking badge. The ceiling fan broke and did not work. We spoke with the super at the time and were told it would be replaced when he had time. Needless to say, this never happened 2 years later! The straw that broke the camels back was we had a mouse in the apartment that came up from the pipes in the basement(we were on first floor). We called the staff and 2 glue traps were given and that was it. They never checked back with us to see if the problem was fixed, never called in an exterminator, nothing!! Needless to say we never found the mouse but were nervous for quite some time. I would never recommend this complex to anyone and I am by far happier to be living in a complex that is kept nice, I have guaranteed parking, and just a joy to come home every night.
Property Manager at Riverview Gardens, Responded To This Review
Riverview Gardens gives a maximum of two parking permits per apartment, and we do not charge for parking like some of the other communities in the area. The parking lots are reserved for the residents that are issued these permits. There are six miles of sidewalk skirting our private road, Garden Terrace; there is free head-on and parallel parking on this road which can be used by residents and visitors alike. In some cases, there are multi-vehicles per family; we responded to our residents’ needs by constructing three new parking lots. Finally, we offer garages at a reasonable rate of $75 per month which is guaranteed parking. We have three resident maintenance technicians, and we complete routine service calls within 48 hours. We have a professional exterminating contractor that comes weekly and we immediately address any resident request. We practice preventative maintenance by circulating newsletters advising the community of the need to keep doors closed and food covered. We have a two prong approach: a maintenance tech. will look for entry points and seal up any found, the exterminator places snap traps & glue boards to catch any strays. We are a proactive management company and we address any reasonable request brought to our attention in a reasonable time frame.
I really like living in this garden apartment complex. I currently rent a one bedroom apartment that includes heat and hot water, I don't pay extra for it, a plus here in N.J.! I so have the convenience of a washing machine and dryer in my apartment, along with an air conditioner and dishwasher, so I have a lot of conveniences at my fingertips right here in my apartment. The maintenance staff and leasing office personnel are very helpful and I have rarely had to wait to have anything taken care of in my apartment. My neighbors are quiet and the apartments are in a peaceful setting which is a plus after commuting and working in NYC. The rent is reasonable for what you get, the only complaint I would have is the closet space, but they do have storage spaces in several of the buildings as well as garages available to rent.
I truly love this community. I have lived here for a month and I could not be happier with this apartment complex. The apartment is comfortable, large, and was renovated very nicely when I moved in with new faucets in the bathroom and kitchen, and new cabinets and new wall to wall carpet. The maintenance staff is very helpful, and very prompt. I have only had to call a few times, but each time they have arrived to fix the issue within minutes of my initial phone call. The ladies in the leasing office are very friendly and helpful. The grounds are very well kept, lighting is very good at night and I feel very safe here. Heat and hot water are more than adequate. I can't say a single bad thing about this apartment complex, and I'm truly enjoying living here.
Great community to live in. Everyone is so friendly. The management is great! They are very nice and friendly and address everything quickly. They are always updating apartments and keep the grounds in great condition. Definitely recommend living there. If I didn't have to leave for school, I would still be living there.
Riverview Gardens is a beautiful community of aparments, everything is well maintained. The apartments are very spacious and modern. I will be moving there in a few months, i am looking foward to it.
I only lived at Riverview for a short time, but I loved it! The buildings aren't brand new, but the staff does an amazing job on keeping the individual apartments up to date. The bathrooms and fixtures (lights, ceiling fan, ac) are all new, quality products that you would NOT get at other complexes. If you ever have an issue, the maintenance staff is excellent and super nice. The actual grounds are well maintained and very quiet. My only issue was I had a newborn baby next door that I heard crying a lot, but it was ok. What would you expect from a newborn? I felt safe and happy there. It's great! The staff are wonderful and always helpful. They work hard at making Riverview Gardens a great place to live and it shows. Only reason I moved is because I got married and moved closer to my job.
My son and I were at your facility to check out the available apartments. Jackie, your rep, took us around to numerous rooms. Even though it was one of the hottest days we've had thus far, she took us from room to room without a complaint. She was wonderful. She answered all of our questions and went above and beyond what I expected. We were even able to talk with a couple of your tenants and they all had high praises for your apartments. I plan on moving into one of your units in the near future. Thanks, Jackie, you were a wonderful guide!
