Directly across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., Arlington is less a suburb than an extension of the nation’s capital. It’s the home of the Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, with a number of waterfront parks offering beautiful views across the river to the National Mall.
The community provides a wide range of living options, from apartments, townhomes, and duplexes to condos and houses. A major reason for Arlington’s popularity is that there is so much to do. Washington may be packed with monuments, museums, and other sightseeing landmarks, but Arlington holds the advantage when it comes to the more day-to-day shopping, dining, entertainment, and nightlife.
You’ll have several options for getting around town or into D.C., whether you choose to drive, take the Metro, or ride your bike — Arlington has earned a silver rating from the League of American Bicyclists.

Property Ratings at Robin Towers
This building hasn't been renovated probably since its inception. It was fine to live at when I was a student but as a working adult it is a no no for me. Expect roach infestation and outdated appliances. The laundry room is a joke. Yes, it is spacious but honestly invest like a $100 more and get a better apartment situation. The people who work there are nice but that's not what you are paying for. The building just needs an overhaul.
I have lived in Robin Towers for ~3 years and have really enjoyed my stay here. The staff and management are nice, they maintain their amenities/appliances up to date, and have excellent package delivery processes (which is great for Prime members!). It’s in a nice residential area with plenty of green space, a super convenient corner store with literally anything you need, and a restaurant/bar with great Blue Crab! It’s about a 10 minute walk to the metro and central Rosslyn. The A/C / heater often has trouble as it’s a little older, and the kitchen/bathroom are not particularly luxurious, but nothing has broken down in over 3 years. Overall, certainly recommend this as a place to live if you want to be close to DC and spend modestly.
I have been living in this building many years. I have a 2 bedroom, but there are also 1 bedroom and studios here. The building is older (probably built in the 50s) but the rooms are very large and spacious. The rooms all have hardwood flooring except for the small kitchen that has a small patch of linoleum. There are no dishwashers or washing machines in the units. There are coin operated washer and dryers in the basement of the building. Currently it is $2.00 to wash and $2.00 to dry. The bathrooms (at least in my unit) are a tiled pink color (like Pepto Bismo), so you need to like pink. There are big closets in the unit. The bedrooms get lots of sun. The management company, Bernstein Brothers, is disliked by many of the residents. They will do the bare minimum of upkeep. There is on street parking and each unit can park one car in open lot in the back of the building. There is underground parking for an additional fee, but the spaces are tight and the ceilings are rotting. The building is conveniently located and is just a 10 minute walk to either the Rosslyn or Courthouse Metros. There is an Art (Arlington Rapid Transit) bus 1/4 of a block away, that will take you to the metro if you don't want to walk. There is a popular local restaurant called the Quarter Deck and a mini mart (like a 7/11) down the street. The apartment is close to the Iwo Jima and bike paths. If you don't have a car this is a great location. The area is safe and quiet. There are a number a families in the building and most of the people are friendly, although most keep to themselves. We have had roaches from time to time, but they do regularly rotate spraying the units. I guess some of that is to be expected in a multi unit dwelling. The heating system is all or nothing. In October they turn on the heat and in May the air conditioning. There are a few weeks in the Spring or Summer when they are transitioning the system that it is either really hot or really cold. Utilities are included in the rental price. The elevator breaks down fairly frequently so be prepared for a climb if you live on an upper floor unit if the elevator gets broken. There is a pool about a block away for residents to use in the summer months from Memorial to Labor Day. There is no bike storage spots, or additional storage spots in the building. The carpets in the hall are almost never cleaned and look dirty. They are rarely vacuumed.
