Rochester Hills is a fairly large suburban community roughly forty minutes north of Detroit. The city enjoys an exceptionally low crime rate, and the public schools earn excellent ratings. Large nature preserves like Bloomer Park give residents ample opportunities for sports, hiking, and biking. Oakland University on the west side of town is also full of great venues for folks to get outside and enjoy some fresh air, including Sharf Golf Course and Meadow Brook Amphitheatre. The close proximity to Detroit makes it easy for folks to get into the larger city for work or leisure.

Property Ratings at Rochester Club Apartments
The property is well kept, grounds keepers are out all the time on the property. The staff are very helpful in leasing questions and the most informative individuals in helping a first time apartment tenant apply. Everything is updated with high end materials.
Rochester Club has done an excellent job updating their units to have the most popular features-- stainless appliances (including gas range), quartz countertops, and in-unit laundry. The interiors of the apartments feel high-end, despite the age of the buildings. The location is nearly unbeatable-- walkable to the Paint Creek Trail, several restaurants, and three shopping plazas. Looking forward to the day they begin renovating the common areas in the apartment buildings. They are still a little rough.
Property Manager at Rochester Club Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking the time to give us a four-star review. We are very proud of the Rochester Club community and the upgrades that we have made so far. Kelly-LR Management Resident Relations Manager
The renovations are appealing aesthetically but everything else is sub par. The walls are thin, so if you must stay here, get an upstairs apartment and try to be mindful that everyone below can hear every single step you take like it's an echo in their head (and everything else you do). So many dogs! Which might be great if you're a dog person but most of the dogs I've seen are ill mannered and don't get along with the other dogs let alone people. And that's not to mention all the dog poop and all the barking and howling. Maintenance is very minimal especially during the winter. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away - spend your money on something that's worth it.
It’s a shame when a gorgeous apartment with lots of renovations is run by rude management. The new manager is very deceptive and I’v come across many issues with them.
My husband and I have been living here for a few years now. Within the last week or so lots of new people have moved in. Someone has been blasting annoying music late at night early in the morning and in the evening- so pretty much a lot of the time. And we have been smelling weed in the hallways. We heard some lady talking so loud last night so we looked in the hallway through the peep hole and she was in the hall and was blabbing so loud on the phone saying nasty things, and she had a joint in her hand. This place is becoming trash, management is aware and is doing nothing about it. We are looking for a better place and then we are out.
New management. I have lived here 2 years now. I loved it under old management but new management has been a terrible experience right now. Doubled rent during a pandemic, forcing seniors, and disabled and another out. Property needs alot of work. Not worth the price increase and rude management.
We have lived at Bedford Square for 7 years. It has always been a well-maintained community. Recently, new management has come in and they have been very professional and courteous. The maintenance staff is especially great, as always.... extremely prompt. My husband and I are excited to see the changes they plan to make.
I recently leased with Rochester Club and am very happy. Close to a ton of amenities and a great property to lease.
I lived at Bedford Square for 4 years & it was great. Although the apartments are older they were well maintained, great location & reasonable rent. I would NEVER rent a property from LR management! They increased rent 70%, in some cases over 100% with 30 day notices during a pandemic. I’ve already noticed a decline in upkeep, they aren’t removing snow on weekends, no upgrades, laundry facilities are a terrible..Good luck to whoever decides to make this their home.. you’d be better off buying a home, building equity or moving into one of the many “luxury” apartment complexes in the county.
I'm currently in the middle of a lease and the new management threatened to evict me for not paying $1,199 in ADDITIONAL rent charges. I was told by 5 lawyers that not only would I win the eviction, but I would win considerable damages in a countersuit. After not conceding, the threat was dropped. The property is in a great location but it was the old management that made it what it was. Read your lease (from what I understand it is considerably longer than the old Bedford Square lease) very carefully. I'll be moving out when my lease is up, I can trust the current managers about as far as I can throw them.
Rent went from reasonable to exorbitant. New staff isn’t taking care of common areas. Long-time well-vetted renters are forced to find new residence on limited notice mid-pandemic in the middle of winter. So sad. Wouldn’t want to live here with the new management. Modest apartments aren’t worth the increased rental amount.
Bedford Square is one of the cheapest complexes in the area, yet it is actually very well-maintained, safe, and peaceful. The apartments are spacious and recently updated, albeit somewhat cheaply built (metal cupboards painted to look like wood, etc). The hallways are kept clean, snow services are timely, and emergency maintenance is quick. My only complaint is that the managers are very strict, and leave notes in the building lobbies frequently telling tenants what they aren't allowed to do, including hangin curtains, keeping bikes in carports, hanging towels to dry on balconies, etc. Every week it seems there is a new rule being implemented. Overall though, the apartments are definitely worth the price, and I would recommend the complex.
We have been blessed to live here since 2007 and we love it. The managers are great and so helpful. They take great care of the apartments and it feels like home.
