When the first settlers arrived around 1817, they named their new community after the one they'd left behind in New York -- Rochester. Located about 25 miles north of Downtown Detroit, Rochester is a vibrant city with beautiful parks, charming neighborhoods, and a delightful downtown that attracts visitors from all over the region. The city sits about four miles east of Oakland University, a large school with a 1,443-acre campus.
Resembling an Old West town with plenty of false-front architecture, Downtown Rochester contains a wide selection of shops and restaurants. Browse the antique stores, gift shops, and art galleries and then stop for coffee at one of the cafes. In the evening, try one of the many restaurants or stop in at a tavern or pub. The Downtown Rochester Farmers' Market takes place on Saturdays, May through October. Other downtown events include Music in the Park, the Art & Apples Festival, and the Heritage Festival.

Property Ratings at Rochester Place
In a year of living here, there have been a total of 10+ days without hot water. The system is ancient and they keep slapping band-aids on it. Oh, and 75% of the time the residents do not receive any communication that the water is off, hot water unavailable, etc. I've kept records. But they raised the rent. That's cute. Oh, and the leasing office got a facelift. But the people actually paying to live here get no guarantee of hot water or even having water at all. They'll reply to this with a "please write us at wecare@blahblahblah" response. That'll be cute. Eat your landlords.

Hello, We're truly sorry for the multiple issues you've faced during your time here. Your feedback is crucial, and we deeply regret that your experience has fallen short of your expectations in various aspects. Please know that we take your concerns seriously and are actively working to address these issues within our control. Thank you.
The way they are raising the rent is ridiculous, I have been a renter here for about 4 to 5 years. There is nothing special about our apartment we have the old carpet throughout our apartment, the air conditioner in both the living room and the room has a big hole throughout the outer part of it to where you can see outside. For the price that we are paying you would think they would upgrade my apartment give us the new hardwood tile floor, paint our walls! There is no new upgrades in my apartment but still my rent is being raised

Dear Resident, We're sorry to hear that you're not pleased with your rental increase. If you wish to discuss your increase with a member of our corporate team, please contact us at wecare@beaconmangement.com. Thank you.
My bathroom faucet leaked bad for three years. they only fixed it temporarily saying they would order parts. This year leaked bad again, I had call so many times from early August until November 22nd, the day I moved out, but they either blamed me for not giving them free pass(I called a couple of weeks ahead to set up an appointment, or most of times they totally forgot I requested and they didn't order parts etc.
I have been living at Rochester Place for three years. I cannot stress enough what a great experience I have had. Maintenance here is awesome. These guys are always timely, polite and get the job done. Plus they like my cat which wins points with me! Every interaction I have had with Bill and Jeff have been great. I also really like the location, and you cannot beat the price. You're walking distance from Downtown Rochester, and the Paint Creek Trail is right behind the office. My building is really quiet, and I have super nice neighbors. I definitely recommend!

I had a really great experience at this apartment complex! Amy was so helpful and kept my 2 grandchildren entertained while I secured a lease. My daughter and I were not only impressed by her multi tasking and organization but her wonderful sense of humor! I am so looking forward to moving into my apartment!

Thank you again for your feedback and I hope you enjoy your new home!
I lived at Rochester place for five years. I never had any issues with hearing noisy neighbors. Amy was the best! Any questions or maintenance request were addressed immediately. I never waited more than a day for anything to be repaired. Unfortunately it was time for a larger home and I was a bit sad to leave. I would recommend these apartments to anyone. Ask for Amy!

I just took a tour, Jennifer was very friendly not just to me, but to current residents we meet the way. The apartments are nice, and the location is excellent for any cyclists, being right off Paint Creek Trail.

Thank you for your feedback. We hope that you are able to take advantage of the trails on your bike! We appreciate you taking the time to post a positive review.
We loved our time living at Rochester Place. Lived here in college and came back once I got married. While the apartments may be in older buildings (only reason for 1 less star), it’s nearly impossible to beat their price and location. We absolutely loved being able to walk downtown in 10 mins or so, we loved the grounds and picnic areas at Rochester Place, being right next to the Paint Creek Trail was awesome (the creek flows through the property), we had some phenomenal neighbors, and the staff was always kind and friendly.

I am glad to hear that you have enjoyed both of your stays at Rochester Place Apartments! We do make an effort and it is great to be recognized. Thank you so much for your positive feedback!
I looked at a few apartments a few years back. They were impecable btw. Friendly and so very willing to help me. Things fell through needles to say. Now I'm returning to get a new apartment. Quiet cozy atmosphere. I just really really loved the place that's why I'm returning. Thanks a lot ???? Amy was the person I spoke with and she was very very helpful and did everything she could to help. Last review I can't believe to be true.
