Edinburg is a large suburban community on the north side of McAllen, roughly twenty miles from the Mexican border. The city is mainly composed of residential neighborhoods, with thriving commercial corridors along University Drive and Closner Boulevard. Near the center of town, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley serves thousands of students and employs hundreds of locals as faculty and staff members, with the surrounding neighborhoods offering many rentals within convenient walking distance. Perhaps the city’s most dominant landmark, H-E-B Park serves as the home turf for the United Soccer League’s Rio Grande Valley FC Toros, the local Houston Dynamos affiliate.

Property Ratings at Rock Ridge
Rockridge apartments are nice if you are looking for a tolerable place or for a college student. It is a quiet environment and it is very affordable. If you do not like noise I suggest you live on the 2nd floor because the noise downstairs is a little loud. There are a couple minor things that can be fixable in the apartment. The girl who works in the front, Michelle is very understandable and helpful. The master bedroom is big with a walk in closet and the 2nd bedroom is nice also. overall, the apartment was decent and super close to school and all other actives as well as 107.
This property sincerely does not deserve a single star. I am only writing this review to warn other about the struggles that come with this complex. To start off the property manager is never in her office during her office hours so if you would like to speak with her about anything it is pointless because the only days that it seems that she's there is when rent is due. Nevertheless, it would be pointless because if she were there and you'd like for something to get fixed she would only say "okay I will see what I can do" and will honestly do NOTHING. I put in a maintenance request 4 MONTHS AGO and it still IS NOT FIXED to this day, repeatedly I have friends CANCEL their lease here because they just HATE it so much. I have been trying to find who is in charge of her, so that I can speak of how the apartment was given to me, because she clearly stated that she had to take a week to make sure the bedroom was ready and there was nothing wrong with it, the day I move in there's holes in the walls the apartment is INFESTED WITH ROACHES, PAINT IS PEELING, MOLD, GREASE ON THE CABINETS, the dust has literally glued itself to the walls that I have had to bought a degreaser, and this place is much more than a place with bad reviews. The property managers work ethic is so crooked that she writes her own reviews, which happen to be almost all the good ones, how can she rate her own property when she is barely here? Honestly, the only reason why I lease here is that it is so close to the university but if there were a chance where I could move out to a different property with the same walking distance I would do it. Also, there has been multiple robberies and break-ins, how does she respond? "Well I will see what I can do", and believe me if I didn't know anything about apartment complexes I wouldn't comment, however I currently work at one but like I said I am living here because I care about my education and it is good walking distance from the university but other than that I would not live in this piece of trash property.
