Rock Valley Apartments

I recently made Rock Valley Apartment Homes my place of residence and I am so happy with my choice. The Leasing agent (Shannon) was so helpful and listened to my needs. When I came to view my new home, I was greeted with a wonderful welcome that made me feel like I belong here. I’ve never experienced anything like it. I just would like to thank Shannon and Larry for the warm welcome.

I have lived at Rock Valley Apartments for five years and was very satisfied. The area is very safe, growing, and conveniently located. In the five years I have been here, the property has been well managed and has always been in a state of constant improvement. Highly recommended.

Honestly, do not rent here. There is a reason why there are so many bad reviews about this place. The customer service is honestly abysmal; all stemming from the front office... They are confrontational, they tend to not have very accurate records, and the miscommunication amongst themselves in the front office means the tenant tends to "get the short end of the stick." Rent increased as management changed and with that they "updated" (and I use that would very lightly) SOME of the units. They still are not worth it. They are rent and deposit collectors. They don't care if something is broken in your unit, they just care if the rent will be on time. With them being the way that they are and never fixing anything just know you won't get you deposit back even leaving the unit better than when you moved in... You'd probably meet a more honest used car salesman than the management here. Lastly, the cost of rent here is merely centered on location which is the only benefit of these apartments. Again do not waste your money or time, go somewhere else.

Glad we moved! New Chicago ownership in January 2020. First thing they did was bring Chicago prices to Loves Park! They upgraded the Sue apartments w/ cheap vinyl floor planking that scratched easy( tenant will pay for this from deposit)new bedroom carpet, fresh paint, new appliance, new vanities & mirrors, granite counter top. Price increased $345 per month! What was not changed was 20+ year old scratched/stained cabinets, 20+ yr old apartment washer/dyers combo, 20+ yr old toilets that require 2 flushes, 20+ yr old tub & shower that have zero shine/luster to them! Its your $$

The manager of this establishment is a crass, insensitive, mindless, thoughtless, ignorant, nosey, witless, oafish, boorish, asinine, coarse, graceless, tasteless, tactless, clumsy, blundering, inept, gauche of a person. I haven no idea how this person was able to obtain any job let alone a job as a "manager" of an assortment of apartments and townhouses. In the winter after a heavy snow, it takes him more than a day most of the time to plow the parking lots which is preposterous and when you mention it to him he brushes it off and does nothing.

Do yourself a favor and save yourself a headache and DO NOT rent here. It's always something wrong in these outdated apartments the manager is a rude, lazy, shady character who will try to steal your deposit money even tho the apartment is in better shape than it was when you received it. The apartment was in bad shape when we moved in, the toilets were disgusting the oven was dirty the cabinets were filthy the kitchen floor and bathroom floors were all dirty the bathtub and shower had not been cleaned, the inside of the refrigerator was sticky and had particles of old food in it. we spent a day doing routine cleaning even tho he assured us the unit had been cleaned, although he did not say when could have meant ten years ago. The washer and dryer are something you would find in the eighties. All of the maintenance men are very weird and don't give off good vibes to women. Make sure a man is at home if you need any work done! and trust you will need work done. It looks like a junk yard most of the time with garbage thrown anywhere and everywhere. I hated living at this place the owner should be ashamed of the people he has working fo him.

The Manager of this property is very shady and will try to steal your security deposit.

I MOVED TO ROCKVALLEY APARTMENTS IN SEPT OF 2013, AND MY LEASE WAS FOR A YEAR. THE SERVICE OF MAINTANCE WAS OUTSTANDING, EVERYTIME I CALLED THEY ARRIVED WITHIN ONE OR TWO DAYS DEPENDING ON PROBLEM, DOING A WONDERFUL JOB. THE OFFICE STAFF WAS GREAT AND UNDERSTANDING TO ANY PROBLEMS THAT ARRIVED, THEY WERE VERY RESPECTFUL AND KIND. THE AREA WAS ALWAYS CLEAN AND QUIET (THANK GOD). I LOVED MY EXPERIENCE THERE AND LOOK FORWARD TO MOVING BACK IN SUMMER OF 2015.THANK YOU ALL FOR A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.

have a cat so no pets allowed. Just saw the exterior. Location a bit void of landscaping exterior stairs not attractive Maybe pine trees would help make it more attractive. Thanks though. May give cat away. Terri ( apt is for my student Son)

I have no idea who the person was who gave the 2 and said not to recommend it as this place is wonderful! Nice neighborhood, Safe, Near the farm and fleet in case you need supplies The owner is kind, professional, on point. You will love it here!
