Property Ratings at Rocket Transfer Lofts
We had friends that lived here in the past, called to inquire about availability and possibly a tour. Talked to Summer, she was super helpful, cannot wait to meet her next week when I tour the apartment.
I am signing on to my boyfriend’s lease and had some questions regarding our contract. Summer was very kind and happy to answer my questions! She also helped me print a very important work document without any hesitation. 10/10 recommend signing here, the staff is always friendly! They even have a fun lounge for residents, events throughout the month, and a cute dog park.

I have interacted with both Bree and Quan while living here, and they have been responsive and receptive to my maintenance requests in a timely manner with good communication throughout. I have been impressed !

Thank you for the great review of our team members, Bree and Quan! We agree that they are an asset to the community, and we look forward to sharing your comments with them.
Rocket Transfer Lofts is extremely loud building. The noise-rating show on this site is not at all accurate. The trains and motorcycles are piercing. Also, loud tenants, and a lack of sound barriers, often make sleeping impossible. There are a lot of parties, beer cans in the common areas, etc. The roof area is practically unusable with broken furniture, dirty grills, and broken glass on the ground. Upon moving in, our kitchen faucet sprayed water onto the floor, the kitchen faucet was punctured and water sprayed across the room, the washing machine had mold in it, and the dishwasher had many issues that didn't get resolved for many weeks. The exposed brick looks great, but is constantly crumbling onto furniture and creating a mess of dust all over the unit. There is also mold in the windows on the west side of the building as water often leaks in. The property management is unresponsive and unwilling to address issues with the unit. Buyer beware.
If you're looking for that perfect college living experience, this is the place for you! Overpriced, terrible management, ineffective maintenance, no insulation between floors, loud neighbors, parties, poorly maintained common areas, crumbling exposed brick in the units -- Rocket Transfer has it all!
The brownstones are a pretty great place to live. They're close to everything and especially being on the south side of the city, very easy to avoid city traffic. Having washer/dryer in unit is fantastic and it's pretty much the only place in the city where you can rent a 3-bedroom that's not income-restricted. A few downsides: they are extremely pricy. Besides having your own two car garage and a rooftop, there really aren't any other amenities: no workout facilities, no parking for 3-person households or guests, no storage (let's be serious, the garage doesn't have much by way of storage once two cars are in it), etc. Another downside I see is the fact that these places are brand new, but not very well built (perks of quickly building a property for hubbell I guess). When we moved in, our door bell and fan in the living room didn't work, when or front door is shut, we can see light coming in from outside (insulation is overall pretty terrible), utilities are extremely expensive (likely from poor insulation). My one final comment is that while the location is great for downtown living, being right next door to a Door company is not the first thing I would pick. Every day, at 6:30am on the dot, the 16-wheeler truck RIGHT outside to my bedroom window is turned on. Due to the poor quality of the windows, it has turned into an unwelcome daily alarm clock. In the winter, it is even worse. The low temperatures in Iowa are a hassle to get the truck to turn on and sometimes, it is left on overnight. Hard to get used to, even for city living. Regardless of the downsides, my roommates and I are going to continue to live here because there aren't other 3-bedrooms in the city and the location is great. The upgraded kitchen and bathrooms aren't so bad either. Hubbell has been pretty gracious in offering many rent options once our year is up, so it made it a much easier decision.
