An hour away from Boston, Southbridge is a beautiful, wooded community. The area is a mixture of several landscapes. The town is hilly, yet flat with grassy farmland, while downtown gives an urban feel and the neighborhoods feel like a suburban escape. This small town is best known as for its historical connection to manufacturing optical products. Southbridge was once home to the world's largest manufacturer of ophthalmic products, employing thousands across the world and selling affordable eyewear for over 100 years. Today, Southbridge is no longer considered the “Eye of the Commonwealth” but is now a charming home for a close community.
Southbridge is lush, with dreamy landscapes and neighbors embrace an active lifestyle. You can find locals enjoying nature at Westville Recreation Area. This park is one of several green spaces in town and it’s a popular spot for camping, hiking, boating, and biking with waterside views.

Property Ratings at Rosemeade Apartments
I moved here in June. Ms. Sharon was very friendly at first . The apartment I moved into seemed perfect , but soon things started to fall apart. The towel holder broke and the heat did not work in the winter. The major issue was the pipes. The pipes burst and water went all around my Tv. About 2 months later it happened again. So, we had to stay in the model apartment both times. During, this time I decided to move to another apartment. We moved in the apartment and everything was ok at least I thought so. When my husband would go to the leasing office I would be on the phone with my husband. I over heard her saying he is so handsome. A few day late later my husband come home and tells me that Sharon asked him why my name is always on the mail and not his name. So, today I went to the leasing office and told not to read my mail and do not ask my husband any questions just ask me.
Property Manager at Rosemeade Apartments, Responded To This Review
We are disheartened by your feedback, Mia. Our team is held to a high standard of excellence when it comes to providing service to all residents, so it's disappointing to hear you feel we missed the mark with you. It was unfortunate that a leak occurred on 2 occasions in your unit. However, we immediately shut off the water and had a team of experts in your unit within the hour with dehumidifiers, wet vacs and floor fans to remove and dry the area. During this time we housed you and your family in our model apartment. Also during this time, you had already started the process of transferring to a new unit as it was less expensive than the unit you were in. We worked very quickly to get the new unit ready to accommodate your transfer. If you feel that any comments said to your family have made you uncomfortable, I sincerely apologize. I’d really like the opportunity to clear the air and start fresh. With summer just around the corner, the pool will be opening soon and another season of new friendships will be in bloom. Hope to see you out and about, enjoying the sunshine with your lovely family by your side.
I currently live here with my girlfriend and all we’ve been having is problems since we moved in in may 2017. It’s now October and having only lived here for five months, we already can’t wait to move out. Here’s our list of problems so far: 1. The staff have no communication between them. We’re constantly getting calls from the office saying that we need repairs done in the apartment and that maintenance has to get in. When we confront maintenance, they have no idea what we’re talking about. 2. If repairs actually do need to be done, the staff works around their schedule and not yours. Mind you, we have two dogs that will nip at strangers and we’re constantly telling the staff that one of us needs to be home in order for them to go in so we can control the dogs. They keep telling us that the days and times that we’re telling them that they can come in the apartment doesn’t work for them. For over a thousand a month, you would assume they would be much friendlier and actually work with you. 3. There are some apartments that have mice problems and the staff have been notified several times about the issue. I know this because two of our neighbors have mice problems and they have told us their horror stories. Maintenance and the staff basically said there’s nothing they can do about it except to put glue traps down (that hasn’t helped). Our neighbors are so fed up with it that they have said that they’re going to call the business bureau. 4. The staff keep leaving notices on everyone’s doors saying that they have scheduled dates and times for inspections of every unit. My girlfriend and I made it a point to take the days off that we’re listed on the papers and come to find out, it never even happened. Time was taken off from work for nothing and they didn’t even let us know what was going on. We continue to have problems mostly with the staff and it’s irritating. The staff should be friendly and willing to work with you because of how much the tenants pay for rent, but instead it’s just the opposite. This was unfortunately our first apartment together and I regret choosing this complex. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and I can’t wait to move out.
The staff here is amazing, they are very quick to fix any issues that you have. There is a 24hr gym here, an in ground pool, basketball court and a common room with a TV and computer. They keep the complex clean and secure. It is right over the boarder from Connecticut and its only 55 miles to Hartford and 64 miles to Boston. Tamara Stevens
Living at Rosemeade wasn't so bad, despite the weird rules and the constant passive aggressive notes left on everyone's doors. It wasn't until we moved out that we began to have issues. One employee in particular (Genie) made our moving process more stressful. It began when I called the office to tell them that we had bought a house and to confirm that we needed to spackle the walls where we hung pictures. She had said we didn't have to do that at first, and then I had asked another employee in passing, and she said we had to. I then asked Genie again, and she yelled at me saying that she would have never said that. We were just trying to help! Then came time for our final inspection. We knew there were some flaws that could have affected the receipt of our full security deposit, (no damage at all, just things like I did not clean the oven enough), but from the beginning, she was very rude to my partner, even going as far as complaining how inconvenient it was for her to even be there, and that she would rather be going home when the only time our work schedules allow was at 5 pm (They close at 5:30). She claimed we would not get any of the deposit back. No one is perfect, and the issues could have been addressed without making someone feel horrible. I would never recommend this place, and at this point, we are glad to enjoy a new home and never deal with them again.
This is a terrific apartment complex! I live in a one bedroom apartment on the first floor ( there are two floors in every building). The apartment has cathedral style ceilings in the living room that help make the apartment look much bigger than it actually is. Clubhouse has laundry services with small washers and dryers. There is a hookup to have washer and dryer in apartment and some apartments have them already. There is a small gym with a racquetball court in the clubhouse as well. In ground pool is always kept clean (in back of clubhouse). Animal friendly! Pay extra $20 per month, per pet.
Would like to be kept abreast of any unit made for disabled/wheelchair ...that is, space under the stove and sink in the kitchen and plenty of room in the bathroom. A laundry would be welcomed to, as well as two bedrooms.
Recently new windows were installed, they have made a much needed update, it is quieter. The air conditioners are right underneath the master bedroom windows and they are also being replaced with more efficient and quieter ones. The Staff is very helpful and the maintenance crew is efficient with their schedule in accommodating the community with important individual services. In the year I have been very impressed by the Management and Staff. Thank You
