There isn’t enough parking for the apartments & they will tow you if you park somewhere they don’t see fit! Unless you want to walk a mile to your apartment, don’t recommend. Also, the walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors conversation! WORST APARTMENT EVER

Thank you for taking the time to review your experience with our community. Parking at Roxalana Hills is free and unassigned. There are restricted areas on the property such as the car cleaning center that can only be utilized during specific hours. In the event that vehicles are parked in restricted areas that prevent other residents from using community amenities, we do have the right to have the vehicle towed, per signage in that area.
I moved into the Roxalana Hills apartments in November of 2018. I'll be moving out may of 2020 due to this project I'm on ending and another starting somewhere else. I can't say enough good things about Roxalana Hills. The apartment was clean when I moved in, and very comfortable. Cool in the summer and warm in the winter. I didn't need to use the A/C or furnace much. The grounds are clean and well kept. The other residents are respectful of quiet times. I live across from the little park area. During the summer months, people are out there cooking out and enjoying themselves. The music is never too loud and is off by 10, most of the time. The office staff is very friendly and accommodating. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The maintenance staff was just as friendly. They were prompt with requests and always took care of the problem the first trip. For the record, I only h ad a few maintenance requests because the complex is very well maintained. I would recommend Roxalana Hills in a heartbeat.

TERRIBLE, UNETHICAL VALUES, AWFUL, DREADING EXPERIENCE. Being told one thing to bait you into an agreement and then lying to you later to gain an extra rent payment is extremely unethical. I told the rental office that I would be graduating on December 8th back in August of this year. Please do not waste your time, I am not writing this to make them look bad, but to protect people who work hard for their money to avoid be taken advantage of and mistreated like they did to me.

Mrs. Bauer: We are sorry that you feel you had a recent negative experience at Roxalana Hills Apartments. However, the lease termination policy is very clearly spelt out in your lease agreement. You also received written notice on how to properly terminate your lease in May of 2018. As for the pet, our lease states you must sign a separate pet addendum and we do charge pet fees. These pet fees may be increased if an unauthorized pet situation occurs. We do appreciate your feedback and will continue to strive to make Roxalana Hills a wonderful place to live.
I have lived in a Lot of cities - L.A., Houston, Seattle, Portland, Phoenix- this is thee best ever! Quiet, ridonkulously nice amount of amenities, bigger 1/1 than I was imagining, plenty of parking (you don’t need assigned here), nice & professional staff. For the price & what you get, it’s a good deal. The staff are so frickin on point that I told them they should train staff in other cities. My move-in process & paperwork was thorough, efficient, pleasant. These gals Know what they’re doing. One negative: not a good place to live if you have to rely on public transportation. But that’s thee Only downside.

Do not get an apartment with new carpet. Any damage no matter how little will cost you all of your security deposits and extra fees will be charged depending on how many "years" they decide you have shaved off its life. Maintenance was excellent and timely, which is the only reason this review gets 2 stars. Lots of students live in these apartments and smoke heavy amounts of weed to which the landlords throw air fresheners out into the hallway as if they do much. Apartments are overpriced and small. Moving furniture into apartments not on the bottom floor is tricky and tedious with multiple doors to open and tightly angled staircases. Complex has a small gym with few pieces of equipment that are also aged and constantly get jammed or break - jug in water cooler is changed once a week if you're lucky. Car wash is sad and tenants frequently park in the car wash area. Bottom line...much of this place is aged and far overpriced and we would NOT live there again if they paid us. You can literally pay less monthly for a house that is twice as big as their biggest apartments.

While I understand that's it's frustrating to be charged for damages, we typically refund security deposits to our residents at move-out except in cases where the damage is beyond repair and the condition of the carpet is not suitable for the next resident. We provide that reason in writing. Please contact our home office at 717-393-0465 if you have questions regarding the charges you incurred. We will investigate your other concerns.
The people here are so nice and helpful! If we ever have a maintenance issue they are here right away to fix the problem. We love living in the quiet area and the hills. You're not too close to the city but not too far away from stores and entertainment. We love it here!
I totally love roxalana Apts, they are very clean with a safe environment
I've been here two months and I have to say my apartment is awesome! Everything from the carpet to the paint to the appliances are all brand new and immaculate. It has everything you could ask for, flat top range, microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal. The kids love all the ball courts and the pool. The bedrooms are very spacious and the sound proofing on the building is amazing. Once inside. you'd never know you were sharing the building with several other families. The staff and the neighbors are all very friendly and welcoming. As a single mom, knowing how dependable the mainentance crew is with the upkeep and snow removal offers a peace of mind that's worth every penny! Everyone keeps asking me how I like my new home, my answer is always "I love it!"
My husband and I live at Roxalana Hills Apartments in Dunbar, WV, just across the Kanawah River from Charleston, WV. We have been here since 2011 and this is the best apartment complex we have ever lived in. When we moved in we found our apartment to be clean and in excellent condition and fully equipped with central air/heat, clean refrigerator, ceramic cook-top stove, dish washer and washer/dryer combo (was optional). The rental office staff is very friendly and helpful. The maintainance staff in excellent! Any time we have called them for any kind of service they have always responded the same day. And no job seems to be too small, not even help with changing a light bulb. Three times a year maintainance comes around to change the HVAC filters and check the smoke detectors. There is also a toll free emergency maintenance number for afternoon hours. The grounds are kept in excellent condition, including snow removal in the winter. The amenities include a swimming pool with life guard, fitness center, racketball area and basketball court. During the year the office staff hosts a number of community events. For anyone looking to move to the Charleston, WV area, I highly recommend Roxalana Hills Apartments. It is a safe, quiet community just a few miles from shopping and entertainment.
This was a great choice to leave for my first real job. The location is perfect, I can be on the interstate in less than 10 minutes. Everyone I've met here so far is very friendly and the area is very quiet. A very nice place to live!
My apartment is spacious and well cared for. I love the washer/dryer so that I don't have to lug around laundry like a college student. I also love that I can have my cat with me. I wish the pool schedule was more consistent, and I wish there weren't wasps invading my porch ever summer, but I love it jere. The people are super nice and helpful, and the building is quiet.
I moved across country for school and needed to find a place to live. I found Roxalana hills apartments online and it seemed perfect. The office was wonderful at answering all the questions I had. When I finally got here, I was so amazed with how much space I actually had and the view is amazing!
The maintenance crew seem to really care...but there is a tight budget for fixing the repairs that are inevitable in an old building like this. The tenants are hit and miss, some truly care about courtesy and such, but many are really treating the property like a temporary flop..."not my problem, I'm leaving soon...". Things are run down, but it's on par for everything in this area.
The maintenance responds within a day of any request made. Plenty of seats out by the pool to relax and enjoy life. Located fairly close to Charleston. Prices are competitive but are on the high side because of all the extras provided like the pool, tennis court, basketball court, gym.
This is a beautiful apartment. It is nicely priced and is move-in ready. This is great for people who need room and space. It has a great outside area and is great for children.
I've lived here for 3 years. I enjoy the friendly office staff and prompt maintenance. I try to attend all of the community events. It's a diverse crowd. I would recommend this complex to anyone.
