Property Ratings at Royal Oaks Apartments
Please don't live here, I rent for several months and I used to see a lot of roaches during the night, it was horrible, I try several types of poison and any of them worked.
I stayed here for almost a year and I loved it ! Great management owner. Maintenance operator always accessible. Great pricing. Family oriented , pet friendly and overall great beautiful location in the heart of Mcallen! Definitely recommend!
Great place overall. Landlords are friendly and helpful. Laundry on site and as well as a designated parking spot. Walking distance from HEB, Feldmans, stripes and Taco palenque. Apartments are very spacious and have a ton of storage space as well. Would do it all over again.
If you are looking for a unit that is in a great location, this is definitely the place for you. It is located within walking distance to many different establishments. The office staff was always incredibly friendly and welcoming and I love how spacious the unit was!
I have been living several years in these apartments. Neighbors are friendly and we feel very safe. We enjoy the playground very much. Besides, HEB is just across the street. Also they have a lot of extras that other apartments do not include.
Roach-lizard Infested, OLD, it was a supposedly remodeled apartment but the sewage comes out from the toilet and bathtub. All kinds of roaches come out from the walls. It's a public dump. Rude owners and employees. They get mad to be asked to repair the shabby place. I come from NYS, the rent it's not cheaper than my hometown. What a BIG MISTAKE I made thinking it would be like Florida.
The Royal Oaks Apartments, previously known as Greenspointe Apartment, are a decent first start apartment. They are walking distant to HEB, along with at least 7 food business restaurants. Their one bedroom are 900 sqft, which is quite large for a one bedroom apartment. The reason they have a big scale to them is due to the fact that they are old "vintage" apartments. For that reason, the bathrooms are incredibly small. They include a sliding door bathtub, and a small rounded toliet. Sadly, in our apartment complex, the pipe for the shower head can be pushed inward into the wall or pulled out. There is also significant water damage on the roof. Not to mention since they are "vintage" apartments, the appliances, including the AC, are old fashioned which can increase your electricity bill drastically but the bill can be balanced out due to the water being included in the rent. These apartments are also incredibly strict. Notices are put on each floor each three days about a certain issue. They do not tolerate noise, or wrongful parking. They also claim to be able to inspect your apartment for drugs whenever they wish, but I have yet to witness it--And even then the contract does not state such a clause. Overall, I believe that these apartment are good for first time living in couples or first time apartment renters. Although strict, the rules set will help make one more responsible and be more neighborly aware when moving into another place.
